ABOUT THE NATIONAL OVARIAN CANCER COALITION For more than 25 years, the NOCC has been committed to raising awareness, promoting education, and funding research in support of women, families, and communities impacted by ovarian cancer. The NOCC is well established as an important national advocate for patients and families struggling with this insidious disease. It remains steadfast in its mission to save lives by fighting tirelessly to prevent and cure ovarian cancer and to improve the quality of life for survivors. The NOCC’s programs and initiatives offer many opportunities for survivors and loved ones to share their personal experiences and gain support from one another. The NOCC has formed a strong community that offers hope and strength throughout each journey.

OUR MISSION The mission of the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition® (NOCC) is to save lives by fighting tirelessly to prevent and cure ovarian cancer and to improve the quality of life for survivors.

OUR PHILOSOPHY When a woman is diagnosed with ovarian cancer, the impact reverberates throughout her family and the entire community at large. Indeed, Ovarian Cancer is More Than a Woman’s Disease®. Sadly, it is a disease for which there is no early detection test. Therefore, education and awareness of symptoms are imperative.

This reality underscores the importance of the NOCC’s education and awareness programs, as well as initiatives that have helped the NOCC work towards shifting ovarian cancer from a disease to a cause. Through a nationwide network of offices and volunteers, the NOCC’s programs and initiatives bring greater awareness of this devastating disease to women, with the goal of prompting early detection and diagnosis, which will result in fewer adverse effects on lives. Included in this effort is the NOCC’s ongoing advocacy for ovarian cancer research. With tireless dedication, the NOCC continues to be uniquely positioned to lead the ovarian cancer community in creating the momentum necessary to reduce ovarian cancer mortality rates.

SOvarian cancer is a disease in which malignant or cancerous cells are found in the ovaries.

An ovary is one of two small almond-shaped organs located on each side of the uterus that store eggs or germ cells and produce the female hormones estrogen and progesterone.

Ovarian cancer is difficult to detect because symptoms can be vague and subtle, and are often misdiagnosed as benign illnesses. The four most common symptoms of ovarian cancer are:

• Feeling the need to urinate urgently or often

• Pelvic or abdominal pain,

• Bloating

• Trouble eating or feeling full quickly.

ABOUT TOGETHER IN TEAL® - ENDING OVARIAN CANCER® Together in Teal® - Ending Ovarian Cancer is the NOCC’s signature fundraising series. Hosted annually in communities across the country, these events increase awareness, honor those affected by ovarian cancer, and raise financial support benefiting the NOCC’s local and national programs and initiatives. Through these events, the community is strengthened and empowered, Survivors are honored, and those lost to the disease are remembered. This community spirit continues through ongoing participation of both individuals and teams, even if a loved one has been lost.

ABOUT THE DALLAS - FORT WORTH CHAPTER The NOCC Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter is comprised of ovarian cancer Survivors, supporters, and health care professionals committed to raising awareness, promoting education and raising funds for ovarian cancer research. Each member is dedicated to improving survival rates, as well as improving the quality of life for women affected by ovarian cancer.

All essential items are valued at 100% retail value; donations not considered essential are valued at half retail value for sponsorship and tax deduction purposes.

Benefits of in-kind sponsorships are based on fair market value and align with the corporate sponsor levels.

Cash Sponsorship Cash sponsorships help cover costs of producing the event and translate into more event revenues used to fund local and national programs and initiatives.
