Sub: Agenda item for Discussion in Senate meeting to be held o1T~_:~ 2010: Regulation regarding minimum period for submIssion of.PhD. thesis " clause no.l4.1 PhD regulation.

Sir,

I like to bring the information of all the senators the above mentioned clause of PhD regulation (Clause no. 14.1). As per this clause "A candidate with M Tech degree registering in the same discipline can submit the PhD thesis after elapse ' of at least 2 years from effective date of registration. The minimum period should be 3 years in all other cases." This causes confusion while recommending registration for candidates. There many claim for a 2 year submission deadline to be given at the time of registration.

The senate is requested to give a clear guideline in this regard and the "regulation may be modified ifrequired in line of this.
