YEMEN GLOBAL HUMANITARIAN OVERVIEW 2022-Draft

• Intersectoral People in Need: 20.7 million

• Intersectoral Target: 16 million

• Financial Requirements: 3.85 billion USD

Projected situation in 2022 and beyond:• In 2022, the situation is expected to deteriorate further, and the severity of needs is expected to increase unless there is conflict de-escalation, improvements in the economy, revenue collection to sustain the public sector, and available humanitarian funding.

Prioritization phase:

• Main emphasis on integrated response; integrated projects providing comprehensive multi-cluster response in a given area

• Limited single-cluster projects demonstrate that they are complementary with other projects in the same area

Priority 1: Improving dignified living conditions for the most vulnerable IDPs in under-served IDP sites and supporting partners’ interventions in new sites lacking services

Approach: Primary & Limited Secondary Fixed care facilities & Mobile team (clinic) in the selected areas targeting IDPs sites and the host communities

To provide the live-saving, essential Minimum Service Package (MSP) & Referral support including:• IMCI- Child care & vaccination• Outbreak response& Communicable disease management• Non-communicable disease care (Diagnosis & Management)• MISP-Reproductive health care (ANC, Safe delivery, PNC)• MHPSS• Secondary care in the selected hospitals (including outpatient, admission care and surgical care including C/S)• Operational support to fixed Health facilities (include fuel/solar panel, water, oxygen, HCW financial support, Medicines & Supplies, Essential Medical Equipment, Essential Lab supplies …)• Cash for Health & Referral support for specific and limited number of cases(critical care need for referral & Health support for Emergency cases- CCCM/Shelter & Health SNC coordination)

Priority 2: Supporting durable interventions through innovative programming and localized solutions in Taizz and Hudaydah

• Total time commitment over the period of the course is 15 hours:

• 10.5 hours of live online sessions

• 4.5 hours of individual activities

Working groups and Taskforce - Updates

RHIAWG Updates• Quantification and forecasted RH Commodities needs for 2021 supply plan was

only 68% funded.

• Key challenges were • Limited donors

• Not all commodities procured by IPs were captured in the implementation

• Distribution delays limits access further even for limited available supplies

• Learning from implementation of the RHC supply plan for 2021 the committee

plans to meet regularly (at least quarterly) in 2022 to ensure full implementation

with the aim of preventing stock outs at national as well as service delivery point

level.

• The RH Commodity Security sub-committee will meet soon to conduct

quantification of commodity needs and develop the supply plan for 2022.

• MOPHP plans to develop a strategy for midwifery. A series of meetings

will be held to conduct this.

• MOPHP indicated the need to expand availability of CEmONC and

BEmONC services as a priority going forward.

Quality of Care updates:

The quality of care activities were initiated in 10 hospitals supported by the EHNP project.

The field trainings will continue on monthly basis, as per the quality plan set for these activities.

The discussion is ongoing with MOPH in regard to the tools related to quality at the PHC level.
