All field personnel are required to maintain a minimum of one elevator inspector’s certification involving written examinations for employment with NEIS. Training and testing for additional certifications and licenses is mandatory. The ASME-QEI Certification, which is the standard for the industry, requires an annual written exam to maintain QEI status. In addition, every QEI Certified Inspector is required to maintain updates with new technology and attend a minimum of one workshop/seminar per year.

• National Electrical Code

• National Fire Protection Association Codes

• Any applicable national and local building and life safety codes
