Scope
About Smart Manufacturing Conference
Industry 4.0 is the fourth revolution in the manufacturing sector and is also considered as a new paradigm which is
a collection of cutting-edge technologies that support effective and accurate engineering decision-making in real
time that delivers results. This National Conference on Smart manufacturing organized by Central Manufacturing
Technology Institute focuses on major key technologies and building blocks related to Smart Manufacturing and
Industry 4.0 with forecasting future trends. The conference also focuses on the strategy & challenges for MSME’s in
implementation of I4.0. This conference has invited technical talks by industrialists and researchers working in this
field and provides an inspiring platform for exchange of research advances. The conference also aims to promote
R & D collaboration amongst academics, research institutions and industries. The conference will be held at CMTI,
Bangalore, India on April 25 & 26, 2019.
CMTI is an autonomous R&D organisation under the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises,
Government of India. CMTI has a very rich history and was established in 1962 with a joint collaboration of
government of India along with VUOSO, an institute in the then, Czechoslovakia. It was established as the Central
Machine Tool Institute and in the early 90’s it was rechristened to Central Manufacturing Technology Institute. CMTI
has been unique in developing & injecting many technologies in manufacturing sector-first of its kind in the country.
From Machine tools to aerospace to textile industries, CMTI caters to all industries. Today, Digital Design & Product
Lifecycle Management, Precision engineering, Additive Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Sensor Technology, Nano
Manufacturing Technology, Development of Ultra precision machine tools, Textile machinery and Smart
manufacturing are the current thrust areas in CMTI.

Registration can be made by filling up the registration form available at CMTI official website and sending the same to the organizing secretary. Payment may be made in the form of DD/Pay Order, payable to CMTI at Bangalore
or through net banking. DD/ Pay order may kindly be posted to

Prospective authors are required to submit full paper not
exceeding six A4 size pages including text, figures,
tables, references and their affiliation and address for
communication. Papers presented at conference, will
undergo stringent peer review process. All accepted
papers would be published in the conference
proceeding. Authors are advised to limit the manuscript
to 6 pages for normal contributed papers and 8 pages
for invited papers. These must be camera ready, well
prepared manuscript. Registration to the conference is
compulsory for presentation in conference and for
publication in conference proceedings.

Submission of Abstracts
Contribution to the conference will be selected on the basis of abstracts submitted. Abstracts must clearly indicate
new and significant advances, results achieved and their importance. They must describe original previously
unpublished work. Submitted abstracts should be 400-500 words in length.
