Dear Mr. Leparulo and Mr. Wells,
The Albuquerque Convention and Visitors Bureau would be delighted to welcome the 2013
College Table Tennis National Championships to Albuquerque! By bringing this NCTTA event
to Albuquerque, you have an opportunity to bring your competitors to an authentic Southwestern
destination that will offer hospitable charm and a rich culture for an unforgettable collegiate
experience. Albuquerque is easily accessible and all hotels and venues are close to the airport to
keep expenses down and help you to attract more competitors. Albuquerque has a local table
tennis club, the Albuquerque Table Tennis Club that would commit to providing volunteers and
helping set the Championships.
Some important factors to consider in bringing this College Table Tennis National
Championship to Albuquerque are:
Albuquerque is an accessible city with seven major airlines servicing the city and
Interstate access via I-25 and I-40.
All hotels are within 15 minutes or less from the airport making getting around
town a breeze.
Albuquerque has an annual average of 310 days of sunshine and an average
annual temperature of 70 degrees.
Here are some other great reasons why I know your attendees will enjoy their time in
Albuquerque:
Historic Old Town (established in 1706) offers more than 150 specialty shops, art
galleries and restaurants
Albuquerque Aquarium, Botanical Gardens, Rio Grande Zoological Park and the
Rio Grande Nature Center
Experience our culture by visiting the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center and the
National Hispanic Cultural Center
Experience the entire city and its breathtaking views by riding the world’s longest
aerial tram to the top of Sandia Peak
Albuquerque is the hot air ballooning capital of the world
Downtown Albuquerque nightlife…restaurants, bars, clubs, entertainment,
shopping, and movie theatre
Nob Hill District and Historic Route 66 ~ with its neon lights, distinctive roadside
architecture ~ offering unique dining options, specialty shops and art galleries

Albuquerque has more than 15 museums which explore a variety of subjects
including the history, the art and the culture. Unique museums in the area also
focus on subjects such as hot air ballooning, turquoise, rattlesnakes, the atomic
bomb and atomic energy … just to name a few!

Dear Mr Leparulo and Mr. Wells:
On behalf of the citizens of Albuquerque, New Mexico, I would like to extend my
personal invitation to you to select Albuquerque as the site of your next convention.
The Duke City has much to offer your delegates when it comes to accommodations, meeting
facilities and Southwestern hospitality. It also has much to offer your group when the day's work
has commenced. As an outdoor enthusiast, I enjoy our spectacular climate that boasts not only all
four seasons, but 310 days of ample sunshine. Our city is also home to the best golf in the
Southwest, world class visual and performing arts and some of the most unique cuisine in the
country. If you have time, I invite your group to explore our city's rich culture and heritage by
visiting both the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center and the National Hispanic Cultural Center, or
taking a stroll through historic Old Town, the heart of Albuquerque since it was founded in 1706.
Albuquerque is a combination of the very old and the highly contemporary; the frontier town and
the cosmopolitan city. It is a wonderful place to both live and visit; I myself have experienced the
city from both perspectives. I am well aware that there are many cities able and anxious to
accommodate groups of your size. However, what I can tell you about Albuquerque is this: in
addition to our unique meeting facilities, variety of diverse dining options and breathtaking
landscapes, we consistently outshine our competitors with our most valuable asset: our people.
The warm residents and hospitality professionals of Albuquerque are ready to welcome any group
- be it an intimate meeting or a large convention - with open arms and assist them in making their
visit here one they won't forget.
As Mayor of this great city, I invite you and your group to experience the Southwest at its
best. Come and see for yourself why I am proud to call Albuquerque my home. We look
forward to serving you.
Sincerely,
Richard J. Berry
Mayor, City of Albuquerque

Albuquerque is a city unlike any other in the world. Albuquerque is not a city that can be described over the telephone, portrayed in a brochure, or displayed on the Internet. Albuquerque is a destination that you must see to truly appreciate everything that makes it magical from our beautiful Sandia Mountains, our nineteen Pueblo Indian communities, our incredible scenic beauty, our diverse cultures, cuisine, architecture, year-round recreation, to the most beautiful sunrise and sunsets that you could ever possibly imagine.

Rest assured that you are working with one of the finest group of people in the hospitality industry and as such your convention is already on its way to being one of the most successful you've ever held. The Albuquerque Convention & Visitors Bureau has been rewarded by those in the meetings industry with awards of excellence for several consecutive years. These include the M&C Gold Service Award, the Successful Meetings Pinnacle Award, and Association Management's Inner Circle Award.
Also please be assured that success doesn't stop here. You will find that Albuquerque has some of the warmest, friendliest, and most sincere people in the world. It is truly a privilege for those of us that are fortunate enough to live in this wonderful city.
Once again, we would be honored to have the opportunity to host your group and look forward to exceeding all of your expectations.

ALBUQUERQUE – IT’S A TRIP.®
Centuries of multicultural heritage contrasted with today’s high tech research and development make
Albuquerque an unsurpassed Southwest meeting destination.
Many convention delegates extend their visit and bring their families to explore the fascinating
surroundings in our mile-high city. Within a few minutes of downtown Albuquerque, visitors enjoy
popular sites such as the Albuquerque BioPark, which includes the Rio Grande Zoological Park,
Albuquerque Aquarium and Rio Grande Botanic Gardens, historic Old Town, the New Mexico Museum
of Natural History & Science, the Albuquerque Museum of Art and History and Explora! Science Center
and Children’s Museum.
Albuquerque is nestled below the 10,378-foot Sandia Mountains with the silvery thread-like Rio Grande
flowing through its central region. A ride up the Sandia Peak Tramway, the world’s longest single-span
tramway, provides an 11,000 square mile view from the mountain peak. Spectacular sunsets and
breathtaking vistas can be viewed from here or any location in the city.
The list of entertainment options is endless including the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center for
entertainment, dining, and shopping, pari-mutuel horse racing at The Downs, high-stakes gaming at one
of the beautiful new Indian casinos, side trips to Santa Fe, the Turquoise Trail and arts colonies, and
nineteen Indian pueblos nearby.
Downtown Albuquerque’s ongoing $350 million revitalization project continues to bring new businesses
and restaurants to the city’s center. New venues to Downtown Albuquerque include specialty and
designer stores, unique restaurants, internet cafés and spas all located within a few blocks of the
Convention Center and downtown hotels.
We invite you to take a closer look at the irresistible draw of Albuquerque’s diverse cultural heritage,
scenic beauty, mild climate, delicious cuisine and friendly people. You will discover, like many before
you, that meetings in Albuquerque bring record attendance and success.

January 6, 2012 Mr. Willy Leparulo, NCTTA President National Collegiate Table Tennis Association Dear Mr. Leparulo, It is my pleasure to submit this proposal for your consideration. Your chosen dates, Wednesday, April 10th through Saturday, April 13th, 2013, are currently available to house your College Table Tennis National Championships. Barcelona Suites is a 164 all suite property located in the heart of Albuquerque. We are very fortunate to have a variety of restaurants, shopping and entertainment to choose from within close proximity to our hotel. We would be pleased to provide the following services and amenities for your guests:
One bedroom suites with separate living room, mini kitchenette which includes a built-in microwave and refrigerator. All suites have sofa beds in the living rooms, and your choice of two queen beds, a single queen or king bedded room.
Complimentary full made to order hot breakfast each morning for all guests.
Indoor pool with hot tub and outdoor pool with sun deck. Complimentary wireless high speed internet service throughout the hotel. Beautiful Spanish 3,200 sq ft Atrium providing the perfect atmosphere for
your competition or just socializing. Lounge offering nightly specials with the exception of your Banquet event. Complimentary wireless internet service throughout the hotel.
The Atrium as well as our three meeting rooms would be set aside for your use on a complimentary basis the entire time of your competition based on a minimum of 100 rooms consumed per night.
Complimentary gated underground parking would be available for all guests.
The maximum seating capacity of our Atrium is 300 for your banquet. Unlike other hotels in Albuquerque, we are fortunate to allow our guests to
contract with outside Catering services, giving you the opportunity to select from more extensive food options, and keeping the cost under control based on your budget. A nominal space rental would be accessed if a minimum of 100 rooms are not actualized. We have a select number of Caterers that we highly recommend due to their food quality, service and flexibility in pricing.
Complimentary shuttle service to and from the International Airport would be provided if needed.
Lastly, I would be pleased to provide a special group rate of $79.99 plus tax, currently at 13%, for one to four guests. Children under the age of 12 would stay with us on a complimentary basis. This rate would be available three days pre and post event dates, for those who would like to see more of what the Land of Enchantment has to offer. Thank you for your consideration. I sincerely look forward to hearing from you. January 10th, 2012 Willy Leparulo President National Collegiate Table Tennis Association Dear Mr. Leparulo, I would first like to introduce myself. My name is Geniva Chavez and I am the National Sales Manager for Nativo Lodge. I received a lead for the National Collegiate Table Tennis Association from the Albuquerque CVB and would like to express our interest in hosting your group. I would first like to tell you a little bit about our hotel. Nativo Lodge reawakens the imaginative spirit of the adventurous traveler searching for a unique venue that pays homage to a rich and vibrant culture while integrating the modern elements of the surrounding city. Architectural detailing is rich in cultural symbolism but modern in expression. Large museum‐quality Navajo rugs adorn the hotel’s open floor lobby. Colorful hand‐carved mural panels featuring Native American symbols and figures complement river rock and pine‐bundled columns soaring five stories to provide guests a dramatic experience. Conveniently located off I‐25 and San Mateo, this full service 147‐room hotel includes restaurant, bar, indoor/outdoor pool, workout facility and plenty of complimentary parking. We are also located just minutes away from all major attractions and venues in the city, including 10 minutes away from Johnson Center at the University of New Mexico. Nativo Lodge reawakens the imaginative spirit of the adventurous traveler search-ing for a unique venue that pays hom-age to a rich and vibrant culture while integrating the modern elements of the surrounding city. Architectural detailing is rich in cultural symbolism but modern in expression. Large museum-quality Navajo rugs adorn the hotel’s open floor lobby. Colorful hand-carved mural panels featuring Native American symbols and figures complement river rock and pine-bundled columns soaring five stories to provide guests a dramatic experience. Conveniently located off I-25 and San Mateo, this full service 146-room hotel is minutes away from major corporations and cultural attractions and also conve-niently located near Journal Center Busi-ness Park, Sandia Peak Tramway, and Balloon Fiesta Park.
For groups up to 255, Nativo Lodge offers eight distinct meeting spaces. The Tewa Ballroom, which can be separated into three distinct meeting spaces, is perfect for large meetings or special events and our Mezzanine area is a wonderful open space for an event.
