The Need
1. Best estimates show that approximately 3800 agencies across the United States have implemented body-worn cameras.
2. Approximately 45 states have piloted or implemented a body-worn camera program.
3. Legislation is pending in approximately 37 states around the use of body-worn cameras.

The Method
o No comprehensive clearinghouse of resources and policies surrounding body-worn cameras.
o Convened an expert panel in February with over 100 participants.
o Consolidated and translated best examples of research, policies, technology into a comprehensive program.
