Office of the President
June 3, 2013
We greet you in the matchless name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
We are grateful to God that He has allowed us to gather together once again in the
“Show Me State.” St. Louis has demonstrated its excitement for hosting our delegation
and we know that God will do great things during our 108th Annual Session this week.
Your presence here boldly evidences your deep commitment to this National work of
Christian Education. We encourage you to dig deep as you faithfully attend the classes,
lectures and plenary sessions that were crafted with you in mind. As we worship, pray,
and evangelize together, we know that God is going to transform this city because of
your presence here this week.
My brothers and sisters, we are living in perilous times. As your Congress President, I
am convinced that now, more than ever, we must equip our constituency with the
proper tools and resources that will embolden your faith and convictions in the truth of
God’s Word. In a world that is moving quickly in the wrong direction, we have to be
the force that moves against the tide, to boldly stand on the front line of this battle
against wickedness and sin. We rejoice that you join us in this vital work of Christian
education. And we pray that you will be strengthened, revived, and transformed during
your time here this week, so that you can return to your state, district and home
churches, equipped, empowered and engaged for greater endeavors.
May God bless your time in St. Louis this week.
In the Bonds of the Spirit,
Dr. George W. Waddles, Sr. Congress President

A Message from the Congress Dean
June 17, 2013
Dear Faculty, Delegates, Friends, and Fellow National Baptists:
It is my honor on behalf of Dr. Julius R. Scruggs, our beloved National Convention President, and on behalf of Dr. George W. Waddles Sr., our esteemed National Congress President, to remind you once again how excited we are to be returning to the great city of St. Louis, Missouri, for what promises to be our greatest Christian education national gathering to date: the 108th Annual Session of the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education! Our theme this year is “Solidarity with the Savior through His Works”; and the local host committee, along with others from the Convention and Congress staff, and the city of St. Louis, put much work, planning, prayer, and energies into making our return this year comfortable, convenient, and enjoyable.
We have exciting new programs that will benefit local churches, our Convention family, and young people of today and tomorrow. This week, you will witness some of the greatest teaching, lecturing, worship, preaching, and ministry anywhere in the Kingdom. Share with us in honoring one of the great preaching legends in our Convention. Expect to see thousands of young adults share in the Young Adult Explosion. Plan to attend the best commencement graduation program ever. Our great Congress President will share with us in his annual address. And expect to see thousands upon thousands of youth and children as they rally for Christ.
We are glad that you have joined us as we experience Solidarity with the Savior through His Works!
We are glad that you are here in St. Louis!
In Solidarity with the Savior,
Dr. Elliott Cuff

The Week at a Glance
“The Solid Rock”
My hope is built on nothing lessThan Jesus’ blood and righteousness;I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
When darkness veils His lovely face,I rest on His unchanging grace; In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil.
His oath, His covenant, His bloodSupport me in o'erwhelming floods; When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.
When He shall come with trumpet sound, O may I then in Him be found,
Dressed in His righteousness alone,Faultless to stand before the throne.
Refrain:
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand,All other ground is sinking sand.
