rneeting of the General Uouncil, Irish ·vo1unteer'"s,·

at 2, Dawson St. frorn 12 noon to 3 pc. m. · As '

far as can be ascertained, the 1neeting was en-

gaged in dealing with reports respecting Fin- _

ance and Organising work. Some discussion fol-

lo ed on Conscription,which, though not ext~nd

ed to Ireland now, might, it was urged, be tap-

plied later on and they should not relax their

hdstility to the principle of the Bill.

About 240 Irish Volunteers, 228 of whorn

carried rifles, in charge of E. Daly, F. Fahy,

J oseph_ :McGuinness and Gerald Griffin assembled
