• ICMCI has over 40 member countries
• India has contributed significantly to the objects of ICMCI since becoming a member in 1964

Global Efforts for a Global Standard
• Agreements on CMC branding, Competency Frameworks, Reciprocity, were made at ICMCI Congress and working meetings in – Cape Town– Goa– Amsterdam– Sydney– San Francisco– Istanbul

The CMC standard is a threshold standard, meaning that it is by no means the highest standard of competence but an agreed minimum to which all member institutes must comply to ensure reciprocity between them.

ICMCI - Tasks Ahead
• Establishment of a common global competency standard (CMC and ACP)
• Implementation of standard as a platform for reciprocity
• Production of key documentation (CBK, Competency Framework, assessment guidelines, etc.) to support the work done
• Building the brand equity of CMC and ACP

• Agreement that reciprocity is the right direction
• Competency Frameworks are evolving
• Basis for reciprocity is evolving

The Current Situation – IMC India
• CMC process has just completed the 8th iteration in Jan-Feb 2006
• We received statement of International reciprocity after intensive audit conducted in 2005.
• Total number of CMC’s on the roster are over 225
• CMC is a big attraction for members• Need to build brand and win the mind of the
customers

Challenges for IMC India
• Recertification process is essential to put in place and has been done
• Accredited Consulting Practices certification is yet to commence
• Training of consultants to meet the CMC competency standards globally (PGDMC, eDMC, Developing Consulting Skills, other training)
• Branding exercise for CMC in corporate sector• Bringing in some of the Big Five/Corporate
consulting houses
