DRUG SITUATION REPORT/SIGNIFICANT EVENTS

REPORT FOR INDIA FOR THE MONTH OF

DECEMBER 2015

This report is based on the information received from

various State and Central drug law enforcement agencies

till the end of December 2015. Significant seizures effected

earlier but reported during December 2015 are also

incorporated in this report.

SEIZURES EFFECTED IN THE MONTH OF DECEMBER, 2015

On 01.12.2015, officers of NCB, Delhi Zonal Unit intercepted a parcel at M/s DHL Courier Pvt. Ltd, Rama Road, Kirti Nagar, New Delhi and seized 390 gram of Heroin. The suspected source of the seized drug was Nigeria and destined to Spain.

On 02.12.2015, officers of NCB, Mumbai Zonal Unit seized 946 gram of Cocaine at J.J. Hospital, Mumbai. The drug was concealed in 78 capsules and swallowed in stomach by a Zimbabwe national lady. She was arrested. The suspected source of the seized drug was Brazil.

On 02.12.2015, officers of NCB, Delhi Zonal Unit intercepted a parcel at M/s DHL Courier Pvt. Ltd, Rama Road, Kirti Nagar, New Delhi and seized 325 gram of Heroin & 390 gram of Ketamine. The suspected destination of the seized drug was Netherland.

On 04.12.2015, officers of 105 Bn. BSF, KMS Wala, Ferozpur, Punjab seized 3.000 kg of Heroin and handed it over to NCB’s Amritsar Sub Zone for further investigation under NDPS Act. The suspected source of the seized drug was South West Asia.

On 07.12.2015, officers of NCB, Goa Sub Zone seized 60 gram of Mephedrone and 10 gram of Ganja at Thivim Railway Station. 03 persons were arrested.

On 08.12.2015, officers of NCB, Patna Zonal Unit seized 620 gram of Heroin at Katgenwa Village, East Champaran. 02 persons were arrested.

On 08.12.2015, officers of NCB, Kolkata Zonal Unit seized 1.125 kg of Cocaine at NSCBI Airport, Kolkata. 01 Ukrainian national was arrested. The suspected source of the seized drug was Brazil.

From 09.12.2015 to 12.12.2015, officers of NCB, Imphal Sub Zone along with NAB and Assam Rifles destroyed illicit cultivation of Opium Poppy spread over 110 acres in Litan area of Ukhrul district of Manipur.

On 10.12.2015, officers of NCB, Cochin Sub Zone seized 26 ampoules (52 gram) of Buprenorphine at Kaloor, Ernakulam. 01 person was arrested.

On 10.12.2015, officers of Central Bureau of Narcotics, Jaipur seized 2.250 kg of Opium at Nagaur. 03 persons were arrested.

On 11.12.2015, officers of NCB, Lucknow Zonal Unit seized 78.300 kg of Hashish at Bareilly. 02 persons were arrested.

On 11.12.2015, officers of NCB, Goa Sub Zone seized 1.522 kg of Hashish at Goa. 01 person was arrested.

On 12.12.2015, officers of BSF, BOP, Renu (DMC), `F’ Coy, 4 Battalion, Lalgola, Murshidabad seized 200 gram of Heroin and handed it over to NCB’s, Kolkata Zonal Unit for further investigation under NDPS Act. The suspected destination of the seized drug was Bangladesh.

On 12.12.2015, officers of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Chennai seized 25.160 kg of Amphetamine, 28358 tablets of Zopalet, 18451 tablets & 2.500 kg (loose tablets) of Zolfresh at Chennai. 04 persons were arrested.

On 14.12.2015, officers of 105 Bn. BSF, KMS Wala, Ferozpur, Punjab seized 440 gram of Heroin and handed it over to NCB’s Amritsar Sub Zone for further investigation under NDPS Act. The suspected source of the seized drug was South West Asia.

On 14.12.2015, officers of 105 Bn. BSF, KMS Wala, Ferozpur, Punjab seized 965 gram of Heroin and handed it over to NCB’s Amritsar Sub Zone for further investigation under NDPS Act. The suspected source of the seized drug was South West Asia.

On 15.12.2015, officers of NCB, Lucknow Zonal Unit seized 597.310 kg of Ganja at Pratapgarh. 04 persons were arrested.

On 15.12.2015, officers of NCB, Delhi Zonal Unit intercepted a parcel at M/s DHL Cargo Terminal, New Delhi and seized 375 gram of Heroin. The suspected destination of the seized drug was Nigeria.

On 16.12.2015, officers of NCB, Delhi Zonal Unit seized 2.050 kg of Cocaine at IGI Airport, New Delhi. 01 South African national was arrested. The suspected destination of the seized drug was Nepal.

On 16.12.2015, officers of NCB, Chandigarh Zonal Unit in the presence of High Level Disposal Committee headed by Sh. R. P. Singh, IPS, Dy. Director General (NR), NCB disposed off 511 kg of Heroin at Rainbow Environments Private Limited, Village Balyali, Mohali, Punjab.

On 18.12.2015, officers of NCB, Chandigarh Zonal Unit seized 480 gram of Hashish at Kurali Toll Plaza, Ropar, Punjab. 02 persons including 01 Nepalese national were arrested.

On 20.12.2015, officers of NCB, Delhi Zonal Unit seized 1.700 kg of Heroin in follow up operation conducted in connection with the seizure of 375 gram of Heroin affected on 15.12.2015. 01 Nigerian national was arrested.

On 21.12.2015, officers of NCB, Chennai Zonal Unit seized 5.150 kg of Methamphetamine at Koyambedu Bus Stand, Chennai. 04 Persons were arrested.

On 22.12.2015, officers of NCB, Goa Sub Zone seized 0.45 gram of LSD near Ganpati Temple, Belgaon Road, Kasai Dodomarg Bazarpet, Sindhudurg, Maharashtra. 02 persons were arrested.

On 22.12.2015, officers of BSF, BOP, DMC, ‘F’ Coy, 4 Bn., Lalgola seized 1.200 kg of Heroin and handed it over to NCB’s, Kolkata Zonal Unit for further investigation under NDPS Act. The suspected destination of the seized drug was Bangladesh.

On 23.12.2015, officers of NCB, Lucknow Zonal Unit seized 1.988 kg of Hashish at PS Rupaidiha, Bahraich. 01 person was arrested. The suspected source of the seized drug was Nepal.

On 23.12.2015, officers of NCB, Lucknow Zonal Unit seized 4.600 kg of Hashish at PS Rupaidiha, Bahraich. 02 persons were arrested. The suspected source of the seized drug was Nepal.

On 23.12.2015, officers of Customs Preventive Unit, NER, Shillong seized 459 kg of Ganja (unclaimed) at Shillong.

On 23/24.12.2015, officers of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence seized 64.245 kg of Ketamine along with 11.830 kg of Intermediary product at Alwar, Rajasthan. 01 person was arrested.

On 24.12.2015, officers of NCB, Delhi Zonal Unit seized 200 gram of Cocaine at domestic Airport. The drug was concealed in 10 capsules hidden in handbag. 01 Nigerian national was arrested.

On 24.12.2015, officers of 20 Bn., BSF, BOP Noorpur, Murshidabad, West Bengal seized 950 gram of Heroin and handed it over to NCB’s, Kolkata Zonal Unit for further investigation under NDPS Act. 02 persons were arrested.

On 25.12.2015, officers of Central Bureau of Narcotics, Lucknow seized 340 gram of Heroin at Lucknow. 01 person was arrested.

On 29.12.2015, officers of Customs, FPO, Kotla Road, New Delhi intercepted a parcel at Foreign Post Office and seized 1180 capsules of Ketmine. The suspected destination of the seized drug was United Kingdom.

During the month of December, 2015, officers of the Sashatra Seema Bal (SSB) seized 26.038 kg of Hashish, 1.640 kg of Heroin and 4336 kg of Ganja in 23 cases and arrested 13 persons including 01 Nepalese national. The suspected source of the seized drugs in most of these cases was Nepal.
