14th Annual Essay Contest

Theme: “Say No to Drugs” Eligible Students: Age 12 – 14 years Prizes: $500 Time Limits: January 1, 2014 to October 31, 2014 The Narcotic Educational Foundation of America and the California Narcotic Officers’ Association are pleased to announce the Sixteenth Annual CNOA Red Ribbon Week Essay Contest. “Say No to Drugs” can be an interesting theme drawing on someone else’s experience or your own experiences. The essay will be limited to 3,500 characters with spaces included and typed with 12pt. font. We will accept the essay by mail, email or hand-deliver the essay to your Region Chairperson. Please note on the contest flier NEFA’s contact information. A panel of judges will select one winner from Northern and one winner from Southern California in October 2014. Both winners will be announced at the 2014 CNOA Training Institute. Each winner will received $500. All essays will be judged on neatness, content, and theme.

16th Annual Henry Hall Scholarship Poster Contest

Theme: “Say No to Drugs” Eligible Students: Age 10 – 12 years Prizes: $500 Time Limits: January 1, 2014 to October 31, 2014 The Narcotic Educational Foundation of America and the California Narcotic Officers’ Association is pleased to announce the Sixteenth Annual Henry Hall Scholarship Poster Contest. All posters will be judged on neatness, content, and theme. POSTER RULES:

• Posters must be submitted to the CNOA Region Chairperson. • Regional Chairpersons must submit the posters to CNOA Headquarters in October

31, 2014. • Parents may assist and help the student think of ideas, but they may not do any of

the poster work. • Students may use any art skills or drawing tools they deem necessary. • Computers may not be used. • All artwork, writing or printing must be done by hand or with hand tools. i.e.

pencils, erasers, colored pencils, markers, crayons, rulers, protractors, compasses etc.

• All posters are to be done on 22 inch by 28 inch poster board or drawing papers. • All posters must be submitted on time, October 31, 2014.
