The North Atlantic Region’s Mental Health Ad Hoc Committee offers suggestions
to keep you uplifted and mentally healthy during this time.
Pick at least 3 things to do each day:
FaceTime and/or call your family, friends, and sorors. Maintain that social connection.
Pray/meditate/practice yoga.
Light a candle, take a bubble bath, listen to your favorite music.
Tune in to online church service/prayer groups.
Join an online dance party and dance like no one’s watching!
Take a walk or jog. Remember to follow all CDC guidelines and social distancing requirements.
Soak up some sunlight. Your body needs the Vitamin D!
Give yourself a mani-pedi.
Give yourself a facial/clay mask/facial peel.
Try a sugar scrub on your hands and feet.
Take some time to be by yourself, for self-reflection and to regroup your thoughts.
Read a book, magazine, spiritual/religious literature.
Create a sense of structure and routine in your daily life.
Get dressed--even if you’re not leaving the house. It’ll help you feel better!
Get regular sleep and rest.
Write in a Journal.
Be in tune with your mind, body and spirit.
Take advantage of free available apps for stress, anxiety, depression and meditation like “Calm”.
Take advantage of the use of telehealth to speak with a medical or mental health professional.
Check-in on and offer assistance to your chapter’s Golden, Pearl and Diamond Sorors.
Try to maintain a sense of normalcy in your family. Help your children resolve their fears by
explaining things in an age-appropriate way. Model healthy responses.
Direct energy towards hobbies and creative outlets (cooking, painting, board games, family time).
Call a free mental health hotline. It’s ok to talk to someone about how you may be feeling.
