Letter of Recommendation for: Faith Escalera
Dear Hiring Committee:
It is a pleasure to write a letter of support for a very unique and extraordinarily accomplished youngwoman—Faith Escalera. Ms. Escalera was a student in the NAPCA Summer Academy during summer2012 and 2013. During her time in the summer academy, I served as the course instructor and programdirector. During this time, Ms. Escalera was an enthusiastic participant in the summer academy who waseager to engage in class discussions that fostered her own learning as well as cultivated the learning ofher peers. She often demonstrated a strong passion and dedication to taking ownership of her futureaspirations. Escalera also served as a knowledgeable advocate for resources which she would share withher fellow colleagues in course discussions.
The initiative and engagement displayed by Ms. Escalera in managing her in-class and out of classactivities was often demonstrated in her ability to elaborate on course material with her experiences. Inaddition, Ms. Escalera consistently demonstrated emotional maturity, self-awareness, perspective-takingskills, and a strong desire to engage with individuals from life experiences and backgrounds differingfrom her own. This was often exemplified in her full and active engagement during challenging dialogueand reflective activities that encouraged students to deconstruct personal and professional experiences tobetter inform their preparation to take ownership of their future aspirations.
Ms. Escalera’s current application to your company is further indicative of her commitment to continueher learning and to take ownership of her future academic and career goals. Furthermore, Ms. Escalerapossesses the resiliency and the non-cognitive skills and strategies required to excel at your company.Her assets, coupled with her value and attitude towards learning, not only make her a strong individualto succeed in her undergraduate studies, but also add value for her fellow coworkers and as a studentleader.
