All children will participate in groups focused on building skills and have opportunities to take part in children’s chapel, tutoring, piano lessons, and family activities.

Your preschoolers will attend our accredited child development center during the day while your older kids attend school. And in the summers, special programming will help your school-aged kids grow socially, mentally, and spiritually. NFR houses homeless, adult women with or without children whose lives have been affected by chemical use, minor physical or cognitive disabilities, domestic violence, and/or unstable mental health. Our admissions criteria include those who:• Have up to four children, birth to 10 years old• Are able to participate in daily programming• Desire spiritual guidance and teaching• Need basic life skills• Are willing to comply with program guidelines• Are committed to actively participate in all aspects of the program

All NFR students begin in our 30-day shelter program so you can get stabilized. During this phase you can expect your:• Basic needs, chemical and mental health assessed• Safety, medical, and dental needs addressed• Children to be enrolled in school• Core issues and barriers to stability identified• County status updated and referrals for additional services given• Basic goal plans completed

Following this phase, you will enter either the Housing Plus or Shelter Plus Program.

This program includes three phases:

STABILIZATION PHASE. In this phase, families find safety and stability. Students build a foundation for healing and prepare for future growth in an atmosphere of grace and acceptance. You’ll have a case manager to provide support, help establish goals, address barriers, and meet you where you are emotionally and spiritually. Individualized therapy and interactive classes will provide the foundation for lasting lifestyle change.

RECOVERY PHASE. In the second phase, drug addiction, alcohol abuse, domestic violence, life trauma, and negative life patterns are addressed in case management sessions and in the classroom. You’ll also participate in the Mission’s adult basic education program so you can work on your educational (including GED) and career goals, while experiencing the transformational power of God’s love as you rebuild your life.

TRANSITION PHASE. After successfully completing the Recovery Phase, you’ll have up to one year to remain in the program while putting your long-term goals into motion. Our programs will support you in finding affordable housing, enrolling in higher education, or finding and keeping gainful employment. At this point, you’ll experience the freedom of a life fully redeemed, transformed, and restored.
