CHESS (Connected Health

Early Stage Researcher

Support System) has been

funded to the tune of €3.9

million under the Horizon2020

People Programme.

It is Europe’s first networked

Connected Health PhD training

programme.

Page 29: Nanotechnology and Integrated Bioengineering Centre (NIBEC)h2020ni.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/6.-J... · Proteus Biomedical PH Pill Personalised Sensors . Flexible Thin Sensors

What is CHESS?

Connected health puts the correct information in the correct hands at

the correct time allowing patients, clinicians, and planners to make

better decisions.

CHESS will develop connected health scientists and champions who

can understand multiple domains, communicate in an interdisciplinary

world and operate across the education, industry, health and policy

sectors.

It will include intersectoral secondments and a programme of

interrelated research projects in health economics, use of big data,

personal sensing, business modelling, navigating markets and

ecosystems, change management and user-led design.
