Communal Cat RoomsThe prominent Lobby Communal Cat Rooms will allow select adoptable cats to live in an area more like a real home environment. The cats will be able to roam freely within the room, giving potential adopters a more accurate idea of the cats’ personalities.

Engelstad Adoption CenterCommunity Education Wing
$3,000,000 — Exterior Signage
Flexible Meeting SpaceThe two Flexible Meeting Spaces will allow us to provide on-site educational opportunities and space for meeting, training, indoor play for dogs, events, and more.
Flexible Meeting SpaceThe smaller flexible meeting room will allow us to provide additional educational, training, and event space to accommodate multiple groups. There will be direct outdoor access from our courtyard to use as indoor dog play space.
Covered Exterior PlazaThe covered exterior plaza will be an outdoor extension of our Meeting Space and will be used for educational opportunities, meetings, training, and events.
The Community Education Wing of the Engelstad Adoption
Center will provide areas for community outreach, humane
education, campus events, and responsible pet ownership
and training classes. The space will serve as a vital resource
to facilitate tours and outreach opportunities with local
schools and community partners and much needed
indoor play space for dogs during the hot summer months.

Dog Adoption LobbyThe Dog Lobby includes three “real-life” dog rooms for small, featured dogs. The Lobby will include a checkout station for adopters and access to the dog adoption bungalows.
Real Life Dog RoomThis space will allow us to house select adoptable dogs within our dog lobby. The rooms will be set up to emulate a home environment.
Cat Adoption CorridorCat Adoption Corridor is the main passageway through our Adoption Center. It provides viewing and access to all of our adoptable cats and small animals and access to our dog adoption bungalows as well as several comfortable seating areas.
The “Mission Central” Administration Wing of the Engelstad
Adoption Center will provide practical and efficient office and
cubicle space and will serve as a centrally-located hub to support
the administrative resources for our 150 full-time employees.

Animal AdmissionsThis is “Shelter Central,” the “heart” of our services, where owners come to find their lost pets or to place pets in our care.

Cat Housing & Care RoomsThese cat rooms will house stray and owner surrendered cats while they complete their hold period. This is also where the cats will be evaluated medically and behaviorally to determine if they are good candidates for one of our placement programs.
Clinic LobbyThe Clinic Lobby will provide a waiting area for our affordable vaccine and spay/neuter clients. This space will also welcome our foster volunteers and Paw Partners, who come in frequently to pick up animals in need of extra medical or behavioral assistance.
Surgery CenterOur surgery center, located in the Veterinary Clinic, consists of all of the necessary areas and components to run a successful high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter center. We complete over 15,000 spay and neuter surgeries each year. The arrangement of the surgery center will allow us to double the number of spay/neuter surgeries performed on owned animals.
