Naming of the Manning School of Business Building (reserved) The new building for the Robert J. Manning School of Business, to be named the Pulichino Tong Business Building, will be on North Campus surrounded by the colleges of engineering and sciences. Located on the corner of University Avenue and Riverside Street, the new building will be strategically positioned within walking distance of the Mark and Elisia Saab Emerging Technologies and Innovation Center. The business and innovation activities housed in the new business building will complement and support the sci- ence and innovation conducted at the Saab Center. The combined complex will facilitate and encourage interdisciplinary student, faculty and industry interactions. We envision the new building as a professional yet contemporary home for cutting-edge business education, research and industry interactions. Although presenting a somewhat traditional brick façade, the building will contain ample glass to naturally brighten spaces and create pleasant work and social spaces. The proposed four-story, 66,000-square-foot facility will accommodate an anticipated growth in both students and faculty. The Trading Room - $2.5 million Combining state-of-the-art technology and real-time data, the Trading Room facilitates global industry, firm and currency analyses, risk management evaluation, asset evaluation and other financial concepts and analyses. The Trading Room will be open to all business majors and will serve as both a teaching and research center. Its use will be required in some core business classes. The Trading Room area will also serve as the vibrant hub of social and networking activity on North Campus. It will house a coffee bar and meeting space in an airy, open space. It will attract inter- disciplinary students, faculty and industry partners. The Trading Room will contain up to 20 seats for student-simulated trading and research and open to two research classrooms supporting traditional lecture, online research, student teamwork and group presentations. Building Floors - $1 million Each floor of Pulichino Tong Business Building will have a specific focus, with naming opportunities available for each. Main Building Atrium - $1 million This open area will provide much needed space for collaboration and provide a sense of community among students, faculty and organizational partners. Exterior Plaza - $500,000 The central concourse of the building will face University Avenue and look across to Cumnock Hall and the Mark and Elisia Saab Emerging Technologies and Innovation Center. It will include a state-of-the-art Trading Room and meeting space for students, researchers and industry partners. The open space will be designed to host events and programs throughout the year. The Business Development Center - $250,000 (1) The Business Development Center will be designed for small group meetings with shared space for up to six new ventures. The center will house four small conference rooms to support group meetings, one larger area to house the six businesses and will include work spaces for students. The Pulichino Tong Business Building was named after UMass Lowell alumnus John Pulichino ’67 and his wife, Joy Tong, in honor of their generous support of business programs. Classrooms - $50,000 - 100,000Contemporary classrooms will support traditional lecture, online research and group work and team presentations. High-quality lecture and presentation capture will also be available in all classrooms of the business building.

• 50 student-capacity classrooms (6)

• 40 student-capacity classrooms - option to divide into eight 20 student classrooms (4)

• 30 student-capacity classroom (1)

Conference and Seminar Facilities - $50,000 to $100,000 Varying in size, the conference and seminar rooms will be for small group meetings, conferences, seminars, classes and research presentations. These conference and seminar facilities are one of the focal points of the building’s concept: collaboration across disciplines.

Faculty Offices - $10,000 to $25,000 The third floor will include a resource/student area displaying and promoting online co-operative education and online studyabroad opportunities. It will also include a faculty commons area, a graduate student commons area, graduate student work spacesand one academic department housing faculty offices and a reception and common area.
