WHAT’S INCLUDED?Your program fee covers all your dealings with us for the particular program you will be participating on, namely:

Access to ‘My Exchange’, a personalised online resource and reporting centre
Return economy airfare with recognised airlines from your nearest capital city and all prepaid airport taxes

Life’s Little ExtrasWhile you are away, your host family will provide you with food and accommodation. However, you will need to take some extra spending money for some of life’s little extras. Check our website for a full list of these extras.
Program ExtrasYou can pick your preferred location or region in the USA for an additional fee. Application deadlines apply. There are also additional program extras available for some countries. Please check our website or contact us for details.
PRICE GUARANTEEWe reserve the right to increase program prices at any time. However, we guarantee that once you have submitted your application and paid your A$150 deposit the published price is protected from increase. That means no nasty surprises in the event of currency fluctuations or increases in airfares.

THE GIVE BACK EXCHANGE FUND
Ask your school to nominate you for a grant from the Give Back Exchange Fund, worth $1 million. One of these grants will dramatically reduce your program fee, where you will pay only for your flights, insurance, visa application fees and any required airport assistance fees. All other fees will be covered by the Give Back Exchange Fund. Conditions apply. Check website for details and to download a nomination form.

HOSTING REBATE
If your family hosts one of our inbound students before, during or after your outbound program, then you may qualify for a rebate of A$500 off your program fee if you host for 5-10 months and A$250 for hosting 2-3 months. Conditions apply. Check website for details.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
14 partial scholarships are available each year. All scholarships are open to students in years 8-11 and valued at either A$2,500 (semester) or A$3,500 (year) each.
3 LANGUAGE SCHOLARSHIPS
In addition to your completed application form, applicants must write a 1000 word essay that tells “Why learning another language appeals to you”.
3 INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS SCHOLARSHIPS
In addition to your completed application form, applicants must write a 1000 word essay. If you’re in year 8 or 9, the essay is to take the form of a letter starting with “Dear Prime Minister…” and must address a matter of international importance such as the environment or human rights, for example. If you’re in year 10-11 the essay is to address a topic of international importance but does not need to be in the form of a letter.
3 COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT SCHOLARSHIPS
In addition to your completed application form, applicants must submit a scholarship entry titled “Why I’m involved in my community and how I do it” which tells us about you, your family and your community, plus where & why you would like to go on exchange. Your entry can be in one of the following formats: Essay or Creative Writing (1000 words max.), Video (3 minutes max.), Photo story or Visual presentation. Please see our website for a full list of categories.
3 DIGITAL VIDEO SCHOLARSHIPS
Get creative! Applicants must accompany their completed application form with a brief video (maximum 3 minutes) that tells “My story and why I want to go on exchange”. Entries will be judged on their creative use of the media, storytelling skills and content. Video entries must be uploaded to our website by the relevant deadline.
2 AUSTRALIAN AMBASSADOR SCHOLARSHIPS
In addition to your completed application form, applicants must write a 1000 word essay. If you’re in year 8 or 9, the essay is to be entitled ‘What diversity means to me”. If you’re in year 10-11 the essay is to be entitled ‘What I think makes a Global Citizen”.
Unsuccessful scholarship entrants will automatically be entitled to an Early Bird Discount for the applicable program.
SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY
Scholarships are available for year and semester applicants only. Deadlines are as noted to the left. Short program applicants are not eligible for a scholarship, however they are eligible for an Early Bird Discount and hosting rebate. Unsuccessful scholarship applicants automatically receive the applicable Early Bird Discount if they choose to continue on a fee paying basis. Scholarships are not available on High School Choice programs.
