B ALTERNATOR Rated at 82.5 KVA, 415 Volts, 3 Phase, 0.8 p.f. (lag), 1500 RPM, in accordance with IS 4722 & as per following specifications:

(i) Type: Salient pole, brush less type, suitable for direct coupling to engine.

(ii) Voltage Regulation: Provided with fast response thyristor type electronic automatic voltage regulator, which holds output voltage within desired limits. (+/- 1%)

(iii) Overspeed capability – 150% for 30 seconds

(iv) Excitation: Brushless type, self excited, self regulated.

(v) Alternator Loading: Suitable for taking rated load immediately after machine reaches rated voltage and speed.

(vi) Vibration: Suitable for direct coupling with Engine and mounted on common M.S. Channel base frame.

(vii) Enclosure: Screen protected drip proof enclosure with IP - 23 degree of protection.

(viii) Cooling: Air cooled type with radial fan mounted on Rotor.

(ix) Winding Insulation: Class 'H'.

C ESSENTIAL ACCESSORIESOne set of essential accessories shall be supplied with each DG set. This set of accessories shall comprise of the following:

(i) One No. MS Base Frame suitable for mounting of the offered engine and alternator.

(ii) One No. Day fuel tank of 520 litres capacity complete with fuel gauge, inlet/outlet connections, drain plug, low fuel level sensor with alarm etc.

(iii) 2 nos. 12 Volts Battery Exide/Amaron/Tata make of 65 AH capacity complete with leads etc. as required.

(iv) 1 Set of AVM Pads fitted on Base Frame.

D SPECIFICATIONS OF SOUND PROOF ENCLOSURE

1 Construction :

(i) The container should be designed for easy access to serviceable parts.

(ii) Modular construction for easy assembling and dismantling.

(iii) Fabricated out of CRCA sheet of 14SWG. Base frame should be made out of ISMC of suitable sections or made out of sheet steel of minimm thickness 4 mm.

(iv) The hardware should be high tensile grade i.e. bolts of 10.9/8.8 grade. Hardware should be of SS or Electro ZN plated.

(v) Fuel Tank should be fitted in the base frame having capacity of min. 205 ltrs, fitted with breather and all other necessary assemblies.

(vi) The fuel level measurable through a mechanical fuel gauge.

(vii) There should be provision for filling the fuel from inside the enclosure

(viii) In case of integral Fuel tank, connected to engine with flexible fuel pipes.

(ix) Batteries should be accommodated in a separate tray in the container.

(x) There should be provision for drain plugs for draining mobile oil/ diesel.

(xi) The doors should be gasketed with high quality EPDM gaskets to avoid leakage of sound.

(xii) The door handles should be lockable type.

2 Painting :(i) The sheet metal components should be hot dip seven tanks pre-

treated.

(ii) To have long life of container it should be P.P. based powder coated (inside as well outside)

(iii) Base frame should be epoxy coated when fabricated.

3 Acoustic Insulation:(i) Sound proofing of enclosure should be done with quality rock

wool/mineral wool confirming to IS-8183 of 64/96 Kg/m3 density.

(ii) The rock wool/ Glass wool should be further covered with fiber glass cloth/fiber tissue paper fire resistive and perforated powder coated sheet of 0.6mm thickness.

(iii) Residential silencer should be provided to control exhaust noise.

(iv) Interconnection between silencer and engine should be through stainless steel flexible hose/ pipe.

(v) Attenuators should be provided to control sound at air entry to the container and exit from the container.

4 Ventilation & Air Circulation :

The system should be designed to provide air inlet/exhaust acoustic louvers for efficient air circulation and having following special features :

(a) Adequate ventilation should be provided to meet air requirement for combustion and heat removal.

(b) The temperature inside the enclosure limited to 5-7°C over and above ambient temperature near air suction point.

5 Provision for Neutral/ Body Earthing:

(i) Points should be available at side of the enclosure with the help of flexible copper wires from alternator neutral, and electrical panel body respectively. The Neutral earthing point should be isolated through DMC insulator mounted on enclosure.

(ii) Engine Panel should be mounted in the container itself. All parameters should be visible from outside and all operation buttons shall be accessible easily.

E AMF CONTROL PANELThe panel shall be made out of fabricated sheet steel suitable for indoor floor mounting installation, hinged front panel door for easy accessibility and suitable rated bus bars, internal wiring, mcbs for control circuit protection with suitable provision for connection incoming/outgoing cables. It shall also include the following accessories complete as required:-

i Generator & Grid Mains Contactor, Three-pole suitable size with overload relay for protection make L&T/ABB/SIEMENS

ii One no. Voltmeter 96 Sq. mm flush mounted with selector switch to read voltage on Mains/Load/Set make AE.

iii One no. Ammeter 96 Sq. mm flush mounted with selector switch make AE/L&T.

iv One no. Frequency meter 96 Sq. mm flush mounted make AE/L&T.

v One no. KW meter 96 Sq. mm flush mounted make AE/L&T.

vi One set of Mains supply voltage monitor to identify low voltage/complete failure and initiate necessary signal for operation of automatic control gear.

vii Push buttons for Start/ Stop/ Reset/ Acknowledge

viii Master switch for Auto/ Manual/ Test/ Off.

ix One set of lamps indicating ‘Load on Set’, ‘Load on Mains’, Set Fails to Start’, ‘Low Lube Oil Pressure’ & ‘High Coolant Temperature’.

x One Audio alarm

xi Battery charger for charging batteries when set is not operating connected to the load side so that it will be energized from the mains. This will consist of :-

a Transformer of adequate rating

b Rectifier

c DC Ammeter

d DC Voltmeter

e Charge rate selector switch for trickle or boost charge

f A lamp indicating that battery is being charged.

xii All control mcbs shall be so located as to be easily accessible for replacement.

xiii Relay section shall comprise a set of Relays for following:

a Automatic starting of DG Set in the event of mains voltage falling below a preset value.

b When the Mains supply is restored, its quality will be monitored for a period of set time, then load is automatically transferred on the Mains and DG Set is shut down after a preset idle running period.

c In the event of failure of Diesel engine to start on failure of Mains supply on One attempt, Two more starting impulse will be automatically be given and if still the engine does not start due to some defects within 30 seconds of first starting impulse, it will get disconnected and locked out automatically giving Audio & Visual signals.

d In the event of failure of Diesel Generating Set due to faulty starting, the Mains supply Contactor will get energized without any time delay on the restoration of the Mains supply.

e The circuitry will make use of minimum number of relays and control wiring must be neatly provided with adequate size of copper conductor cable of suitable cross section, 1100 volts, end tag numbered at both ends.
