competitions of Bhavanatsav – of Vivekananda Bhavans Degree College

in 2nd August, 2019.

❖ Dr.K.Geetha co-organized one day workshop on “Awareness and

Education Programme on Possitivity” organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra,

Ministry of Youth affairs & Sports on 22.2.2019. Mr.Aravind was C0-

ordinator of the programme. Inter College competitions held in GDCW,

Begumpet apart from this workshop.

❖ Dr.K.Geetha co-organized vigilance awareness programme on

30.10.2019 which is organized by Airports Authority of India, Begumpet.

Rukmini Chowdhery, HR Manager from Airport Authority of India was

the Organizer and gave a PPT Presentation bringing the awareness on

vigilance among the students. Essay writing & Poster Presentation

competition held in GDCW, Begumpet on the topic – Integrity a way of

life. Students received prizes from Airport Authority of India.

Department of Sanskrit celebrated Sanskrit Day on 4th September 2018.

Osmania University Department of Sanskrit H.O.D Prof. Ramulu graced the

occasion of Sanskrit Day and delivered an Extension lecture Samskrutritih

Samskrutashritha. Sanskrit students performed skits, dances and songs in

Sanskrit language. Dr. G Yadagiri, Principal GDCW Begumpet delivered an

inspiring speech about the greatness of Sanskrit and asked the students to

speak in Sanskrit by attending Spoken Sanskrit Course offered by the

Department of Sanskrit. Students received prizes for participating in the events

related to Sanskrit.

EXTENSION LECTURE OF SANSKRIT

The Department of Sanskrit arranged an extension lecture on1-03-2019.

Dr.vidyanada Arya, Chaiman, Board of Studies Sanskrit, was invited as a

resource person. He has delivered an extension lecture on the topic

‘UTTHARE RAMACHARITE BHAVABHUTIRVISHISYATE’. Dr.G.yadagiri, Principal,

GDCW, BEGUMPET presided over the session and mentioned valuable points

about the importance of Sanskrit. He spoke in Sanskrit to inspire the students

and also felicitated the guest with shawl and flower bouquet. Students have

participated in discussion after the extension lecture and Dr.Vidyanand Arya

discussed about greatest Sanskrit dramas.

EXTENSION LECTURE OF SANSKRIT

The Department of Sanskrit, GDCW, Begumpet has organized an extension

lecture on 13.02.2019. Dr.Varalakshmi, Deputy Director, Sanskrit academy,

Osmania University was invited for extension lecture on topic “Linguistic tools for

blended Sanskrit schools”. The students of Sanskrit Second Language of I and II

years attended the lecture and interacted with the guest. They have got the

information how to use online Sanskrit language tools to study the literature.

Principal Dr.Yadagiri felicitated the guest with shawl and sapling.

On the occasion of Gurupournami

The Department of Sanskrit celebrated Gurupournami on. President

Award winner Retd. Prof. B.Narsimhacharyulu from Department of Sanskrit,

Osmania University was honored by his students and Faculty of Government

Degree College for Women, Begumpet. Sir shared the important points of his

journey as a professor in and poet. He read some poems from his contribution.

Principal Dr.G. Yadagiri honored the guest by presenting him a garland and

shawl.

Osmania University Retd. Prof. Kasireddy Venkat Reddy graced the occasion of

Sanskrit Day and delivered an Extension lecture on Samskrutritih -

Sanatanadharma. Sanskrit students performed skits, dances and songs in

Sanskrit language. Dr. G Yadagiri, Principal GDCW Begumpet delivered an

inspiring speech in Sanskrit and asked the students to search the references in

Sanskrit related to human values. Students received prizes for participating in

the events related to Sanskrit.

DEPARTMENT OF SANSKRIT - MOU with SAMSKRUTA BHARATHI

Department of Sanskrit is having an MOU with Samskrutha Bharathi

which is an organisation working for promote Sanskrit as a Spoken language in

all over India. Under their guidance some villagers are declared as Sanskrit

speaking villages. According to the MOU certificate courses are offered to

Degree students and it is mandatory to SL Sanskrit students to complete the

Certificate course in Spoken Sanskrit from the academic year 2019-20. Mr.

Sanjeev Kumar from Samskrutha bharathi and Sanskrit Department Faculty

Dr.K.Geetha signed MOU in the presence of Dr.G.Yadagiri, Principla, GDCW,

Begumpet. Further Principal Sir gave permission to Samskrutha Bharathi

organization to start a centre for Spoken Sanskrit to all age groups in GDCW,

Begumpet.
