    Lay plan (cutting out) - an arrangement of the pattern

    pieces on the fabric to ensure the best use of material.

    Tolerance Level– the small amount of variance on any

    process in manufacturing.

    Toile/porotype a– a model in paper or cheap fabric.

    Basic block—a card template formed from a set of

    measurements which are the starting point for producing

    a pattern or item of clothing.

    Manipulate—a way of handling flat fabric in order to

    change it to a shaped product.

    Modelling—the developing and trying out design ideas

    to see what working, usually done by creating a model.
