(1) The Location and Size:

Bangladesh is situated in southern Asia, on the delta of the 2 Largest rivers on the Indian subcontinent-the Ganga andJamuna (Brahamaputra). It borders with India in the west, with Burma in the north and east in the southeast and with theBay of Bengal in the south. The country’s total area is approximately 144,000, it would fit into NSW five times.It is divided into 6 administrative divisions. These are Dhaka,Chittagong, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal and Sylhet.

The name of the capital of Bangladesh is Dhaka. `

(2) The Population:

The population of Bangladesh was estimated approximately 153,546,896 according to year 2008 which is seven times more than total population of Australia.

(3) Tourism in Bangladesh:

Tourism is a small sector in Bangladesh but its growing very fast.According to Government statistics approximately 171,000 touristsVisited in the country in 1998 which make Tk2.4 billion for itsEconomy.The main tourism areas are Chittagong, Sylhet, Sondorbon,Kaptai.The most visitors are from India, Australia, Germany,United Kingdom, United States.

Bangladesh is an agricultural basedCountry. Here three-fifths of the population engaged in farming.Jute and tea are the principal sources of foreign enchange.
