W hat i s a L ogo? A LOGO is a combination of letters and/or graphics creating a single design used to identify a company. “Logo” is short for the term “Logotype.” A CATCH PHRASE is an expression recognized by its repeated utterance. Such phrases often originate in popular culture and in the arts, typically spread through a variety of mass media (internet, movies, television, radio, etc.) as well as word of mouth. (example: Skittles: “Taste the Rainbow” or McDonalds, “I’m Lovin’ It!”) A PRODUCT DESCRIPTOR tells you the flavor or type of product. NET WEIGHT is the amount of a product that is in the package. It tells you the weight of the product without the weight of the packaging. Directions: Answer the questions below:
1. Name a logo you see in this classroom:____________________________________________________________ (NOT McDonalds or Skittles!)
2. Name a different logo that you see every day: _____________________________________________________ (NOT McDonalds or Skittles!)
3. Use the vocabulary words from above to fill in the lines below to label what part of the design the arrow is pointing to.
