Vacuum The Vitro VUV source operates as a free-Ultraviolet running arc. It has high stability, better

than 5% in its radiated intensity. Changesin current, up to 300 amperes, can pro-

vide plasmas from 5000 to a maximum of20,000°K. The arc plasmas are a thermalsource of high intensity radiation for thespectral range between 300A and15,000 A.

The VUV arc radiation source providesan intense continuous spectrum below2000A which rises in part to the black-body spectrum at the temperature of theplasma. As a radiance standard it coverswith 3% reproducibility the violet andUV regions not adequately covered by a

tungsten ribbon standard.

FluidTranspiration

Arc

This is a single-ended radiation source

that produces a very high radiant power

from a small radiating volume... .80% ofthe radiation originates from a sphereless than 1 cm in diameter. The FTA radiation source of 20-50 kWrating has application as a solar simu-lator, for searchlight use, as a pulsedhigh-intensity light for aerial photographyand missile tracking, and optical welding. These light sources are off-the-shelfhardware adaptable to specific customerrequirements. Voyagers of the Vitiaz Strait: A Study

Why doesn't somebody design an

inverted microscope specifically for

tissue culture and other biological studies?

Somebody has. It's the Wild M-40.

This is no modification. It's the newest, highest state-of-the-art ininverted microscope design and construction. In mechanical preci-sion. In optical quality. And in conveniences, operating speed and ease.

It's the first of its kind, a typical Wild classic. Write for Booklet M-40.
