Responsibilities :If IMI is installing the agent then responsibilities will be IMI

If Fidelity is installing the agent then responsibilities will be Fidelity and IMI will provide the

1. Install Nagios plugin rpm with nodeps option. (If you are not using nodeps it will give dependency

error for perl (Net::SNM! and fping . Since these plugins we are not using in our standardmonitoring we can ignore it!

2! Set password for nagios user as 3nagios4)! edit 1etc1*inetd!d1nrpe file and make the changes below!

%! Rename 1etc1nagios1nrpe!cfg to 1etc1nagios1nrpe!cfg,bkp the file which installed as part of rpminstallation # and copy the nrpe!cfg from nrpe!tar!g"# to 1etc1nagios1 directory! 5ake sure theownership and permission as same as the original file!

6! Restart the *inetd ser'ice& ser'ice *inetd restart

! Once install add Iptables rules and a'e for nagios port

+! Edit below agios port under 1etc1ser'ices last line

7! 8heck the nagios port status

(9! copy all plugin files from plugins!tar!g"# and put them at 1usr1lib6)1nagios1plugins on each ser'er!

11. 0hange the permission of varlogmessages to )%%

12. Share the server N34 I details to us to add server to nagios.

Validation

1. 4o chec5 if nrpe is running

netstat #at 6 grep nrpe
