Direction in this regard on illegaldisposal of waste in the drainage hasbeen issued by DMC in the localdailies on 13.03.2019. It furtherauthorized the colony councils/GBsto implement the order and alsoimpose fine against the defaulters intheir respective colonies.Proposal for setting up of CommonBio-medical Waste TreatmentFacility for Dimapur sent to MoEF&CCWater Resources department underthe State Plan carry out activitywherein wells are dug for groundwater extraction. Sensitizationprogramme for ground water is alsounder implementation.

Water Resources Department hasbeen carrying out activities underthe Minor Irrigation Schemeswherein diversion, protection walland line & unlined canals are beenconstructed under the Ministry ofwater Resources.Dimapur Municipal Councilimplement for the protection andmanagement of Flood Plain Zones.District Administration will notifyfor provisions of rooftop rain waterharvesting in Govt. building,commercial buildings and hotels.Environment flow is being assessedby the Water Resources DepartmentNursery work is ongoing

The Chief Wildlife Warden underthe Department of Environment,Forests & CC has declared andnotified the status of 10 communityreserved forests (private/ communityowned protected area) in Dimapurdistrict which falls in the upstreamand catchment area of the RiverDhansiri with a total area of23.025Sq. km.
