▲ Ris-Orangis is on the left bank ofthe river Seine, on the South-Westcorner of the Paris basin and only24km from the Notre-Dame cathedralin Paris. Ris-Orangis is located in thenorthern section of the EssonneDepartement.

Having worked with a Mecalac 11Cxisince 1990, the town’s road works

department decided to replace thisaging machine with a Mecalac10MSX in June 2004. Taking intoconsideration the limited space avai-lable and the need for a multipurposemachine, it was only natural that theroad works department selected thisparticular model.

▲ Indeed, thanks to its exceptionalcinematic and numerous accessories,this machine may be used all year round.Various earth moving tasks (trench dig-ging, pipe laying work) are carried outwith the back hoes. The tooth ripper isused to remove road surfaces beforedigging. The take up bucket is used toattain greater depths, for the creationof disposal wells, for example.

As the only handling machine requiredon site, the 10MSX makes full use ofits pallet lift function to transport palletloads of bricks, curb stones, bags ofcement, etc. Ditch clearing is now aneasy task using the appropriate bucket.

Finally, the 4 in 1 bucket is used fornumerous tasks: loading of materials,site clean up, handling of branches, oreven stacking in order to create extrastorage space.

Mr Panec, road works departmentmanager: “With the Mecalac, we onlyneed one machine to carry out a widerange of tasks.”

“The Mecalac arm offers exceptionaldigging force and the rapid couplingsystem is very practical. Furthermore,the cylinder coupling system makesit easier for us to start work” confirmsMr Laouisset, the 10MSX driver.

The road works department plans to addto its range of accessories by purchasinga snow blade and possibly a hydraulicrock breaker. This confirms that the ver-satility of the Mecalac 10MSX is truly atthe service of town councils.
