The sewing and quilting industry is alive and
well and we are seeing more and more people
with a desire to create. The machine
companies are answering that desire with
more and better features on the machines.

is here to make your projects easier and more

information for November and December. We
have some great classes to make some quick
gifts for yourself, friends, and family. Just having
returned from Quilt Market in Houston, we
have NEW and EXCITING products and
projects to share with you. Be sure and attend
Demo & Dessert on November 17 to see all
the treasures we found.
EVENTS! We have events coming up.
November 10 and 11 Cathy Brown, a Baby
Lock Educator will be here to share tips
on long arm quilting and free motion quilting
that you can do on your home machine.
Nothing to bring...just sign up and come see
what she has to share with us. Lunch is on us!
November 13 and 14 we are holding a quilt
and embroidery mixer with Ashley Jones. If you
were at our last Dime event you know how
knowledge and fun Ashley is and she has even
more to teach us!! There are 3 times to chose
from, so get signed up before we run out of

Quilt It Lighted Table Top Tree Gather up those batting scraps and 13 jelly roll strips
to create two holiday trees. A few additional supplies
are all you need to complete this
project. Sewing machine, basic
sewing and cutting supplies
required. Due to limited time we
may not totally finish a tree during
the evening class. You will learn
how to complete it so you can
finish it later. Class fee is $15.

Triangle Frenzy Runner Using a border print cut some triangles, spin them
around, rearrange, and sew them
together. Use this technique to
make table runners, bed runners
or mantle runners, large or small,
the possibilities are endless. Class
fee is $15. Kits available or supply
list given upon registration. Sewing
machine, basic sewing and cutting
supplies required.
Wednesday, Nov. 18: 1-5 pm
Circle Savvy Ruler Each month we will have a class on a Creative Grids
ruler. The class will be geared
towards learning to use the tool and
not necessarily making a specific
project, but we will have project
ideas for you. For this class you will
need the Circle Savvy Ruler if you
don't already have one. Class fee of
$15 includes practice fabric.

Learn to Use . . . Scan N Cut Christmas Block Quick easy project for any holiday or gift giving!
Decorate a block using your Scan N Cut. Choose
nativity scene, Christmas tree or Santa design. Bring
your Scan N Cut and a usb stick
to transfer design. Vinyl and
lights can be purchased here.
Class fee includes glass block
and other supplies needed to do
the etching. Class fee is $35.00.

Miscellaneous Sit & Stitch Pin Cushion Make your hand sewing more enjoyable with this Sit &
Stitch Pincushion. It’s fun and easy! Have everything
you need at your fingertips as it lays over the arm of
your favorite chair. The 4 pockets hold all your
supplies. Bring sewing machine and basic sewing and

which includes pattern, and thread prior to class. Bring

Explore Your Sewing Machine
Explore the features and stitches of your new sewing machine. You will stitch samples, learn the functions of
your machine, and basic cleaning. Open to Baby Lock, Brother, and Viking owners. No charge for machines
purchased at Rae-Bon; $50.00 for others. Private classes on other brands may be available at a $75.00 charge;
call the shop for details. Bring your machine, accessory feet, foot control, power cord, spool of thread, and
bobbin.

Embroidery Basics
(for all machines that do hooped computerized embroidery)
This class will cover the basics of machine embroidery which includes machine functions, thread selection,
stabilizer selection, and positioning designs. Open to Brother, Baby Lock, and Viking owners. No charge for
machines purchased at Rae-Bon; $150 for others. Bring your machine, embroidery arm, power cord,
embroidery foot, 4” x 4” (or 5” x 7”) hoop, and spool of embroidery thread.

Explore your Scan N Cut
Learn the basics of using you Scan N Cut. The class will cover scanning a pattern, cutting multiple pieces of a
pattern, scan to cut a design printed on fabric, how to use every scrap of fabric, using built in templates, and
more. We will discuss how to get your fabric ready for the Scan N Cut. Class Bring your Scan N Cut, all mats,
and accessories. Fabrics will be provided in class.

Ten Minute Table Runner/Heart Pot Holder Quick and easy gift to make that all your friends and
family will enjoy. The ten minute table runner can be
constructed in no time at all – no batting required.
The pot holder is fun and simple to make. Add your
favorite recipe to complete the gift. Class fee $15.00.

Christmas
Stocking Contest
Sign up to enter and we will give you a fat
quarter. Fat quarter must be used in some way in
your stocking. Stocking can be any size or shape,
but we must see at least a piece of the fat
quarter.
The entry period runs from November 1-
December 7. Customers will vote on the winner
from December 9-21.
First Prize: $50.00 Visa gift card
Second Prize: Gift Basket
When bringing your sewing machine, be sure to bring feet and extra bobbins. If bringing an
embroidery machine, bring all hoops if one is not specified.
If you don't have a machine and would like to take a class, we do have several machines available
to use. Please let us know when you register so we set one aside for you.

Create with Embroidery
In November, Sealed with a Stitch brings us a shabby chic 3D
chenille pumpkin with a bow. It’s a cute table top decoration.
We will make chenille in the hoop. Class fee of $20.00
includes kit and multi-format CD with embroidery design and
instructions. Bring a spool of black and orange thread, a 5 x 7
hoop, chenille cutter, your embroidery machine, and basic
embroidery supplies.
In December, we’ll be making some Sweet Feet by
Kimberbell. It’s a cute in-the-hoop project perfect for a
holiday display or gift. You can fill the feet with your
favorite cookies or candy. Class fee of $20 includes kit and
multi-format CD with embroidery design and instructions. Bring red and green
thread, a 5 x 7 hoop, your embroidery machine, and basic embroidery supplies.

Demo & Dessert We’ll provide a tasty snack while you learn about new products, machines, or fabrics
that have arrived in the past month. Receive a 10% discount on any new items
highlighted that day. Year of Love. . .a Year of Fun patterns will be handed out each
month at Demo & Dessert.

Frivols Club What are Frivols? They're a series of limited edition collectible tins from Moda! Each
tin measures 4.5” x 7.5” and includes 42 7” squares, a new Moda quilt pattern, a new
block pattern, and a Frivol surprise. Quilt projects vary in size. There is a limited
amount of tins available so don’t miss out on your opportunity to sign up! Sign up for
the year. As a bonus when you pay for four months up front, you’ll receive 20% off
your tin and any additional fabric needed to complete quilts (usually just backing and
binding). Join us the last Tuesday of the month for tips, tricks, and treats.

Happy Hoopers
In November, we’ll be making the Console Catch-All. This
bag is designed to hold the trash in your car. Hope has
taken a traditional appliqué technique and modernized it
in the hoop using specialty thread. Embroider your
monogram or slogan of your choice. We will be sewing and
embroidering in class, so bring all basic supplies as well as
your 4 X 4 hoop. Kit available or pick up a supply list when
registering.
In December, we’ll be making the Quilt Diva T-Shirt. It’s
the perfect way to show your love of quilting. Bring a blank
T-shirt and 5" square of applique fabric to use on the shirt.
6 x 10 or larger hoop is required for class. Supply list with
additional items needed will be given at registration.

Simple Whatnots Club three has begun! It’s not too late to join Claudia in the world of miniature quilts
(nothing will be bigger than 40” square). Each month we’ll meet to talk about the next
project. Claudia will share tips, tricks, and new products. We’ll have coffee, snacks, and
show & tell. To join the club, simply purchase the Simple Whatnots fat quarter tower.

Stitcher’s Society Stitcher’s Society is a group for hand embroiderers (beginners and those with experience).
Each month we’ll be learning new stitches and making gorgeous wool appliques on hexagons
(wool, cotton, or flannel backgrounds). At the end of the program, you can turn your
hexagons into a quilt or use them in smaller projects. This club will meet the 1st
Wednesday of each month for the next 12 months. The complete program is a one time
fee of $180.00

Minot Embroidery Club Embroidery Club is a great chance to learn more about your
embroidery machine and meet other embroiders in the area.
Each month we’ll have a new project for you. If you live in the
Minot area, call Rae-Bon to sign up for the club. Club requires
the purchase of a kit for $25. The kit will include all the
materials to make this month’s project, an in the hoop
appliqued pincushion.

Call or stop in to sign up and pay for the class of your choice. Class fee is due when you register. Phone
registrations (701-433-7203) accepted only with a charge card payment.
The class supply list will be available when you register and pay for the class. Supplies are not included in the class
fee. Please have supplies purchased before class. Kits required are available at the store. BYOM means bring your
own machine. No photocopied patterns or books will be allowed in classes.
We consider your enrollment to be a commitment by you to take the class and we in turn make a commitment
to the instructor. No cancellations are allowed on classes. Thank you for not asking us to make exceptions.
Your sewing machine or serger must be in top working condition before you arrive at class. Students whose
equipment is not working properly disturb and slow down the class. We service all brands of machines and
sergers so come see us prior to the start of the class.
If you get together a group of 2 or more friends, we would be happy to setup a class date and time just for you.

Secrets of Free Motion Quilting Wednesday, November 11th: 10 am - 4 pm
Join Cathy for an information packed session of free motion quilting tip, tricks, and techniques.
Learn how to make your free motion successful with TruStitch. Trustitch can not only make
your stitches even, it can fill in the gaps to make you a more successful and confident quilter.
TruStitch can be used on several Baby Lock machines. Cathy will be demonstrating on the
Tiara and the Crescendo. Then you can give it a try. Learn methods on how to quilt large
projects on a small machine. Cathy will entertain and inspire you with lots of free motion
samples and hints on unique projects to practice and play on. Bring an unfinished quilt top and
a note book to jot down some quilting ideas and suggestions to complete your latest project.
Cathy will end the day with a trunk show of quilts from traditional to contemporary! Cost is
$25 and includes lunch.
