myPerspectives Digital Resources


Introduction

Today, I'll show you some nifty digital resources in myPerspectives that will take your classroom instruction to a whole new level of awesome!

I'll share customizable features of the program, talk about some cool ways to engage your students, and give you a sneak preview of the embedded assessments and data-tracking tools.

Alright, let the fun begin!



Savvas Realize™

First stop, SavvasRealize.com. Start by logging in to your account. If you don't have a log in, watch the Savvas Realize tutorial for easy step-by-step instructions.

Once you're in and on the home page, you can access program resources as well as classroom management and data-tracking tools.

Your students will see similar menus where they can access program resources, view their assignments, and check their grades.



Table of Contents

To get to the myPerspectives program materials, select the myPerspectives program.

You'll see the table of contents that includes the Teacher's Edition, the Student Edition, and many other resources...like the ELD Companion. The ELD Companion is an additional program that can be purchased to help with intervention support.

Click teacher resources on the right to access even more support materials. Here you'll find tools like a plagiarism checker and professional development videos from the Teaching Channel®. You can download these resources as needed to help with your lesson planning.

Next, let's look at the Unit Resources in the Table of Contents.

Unit-level resources range from Home Connection Letters and Audio Summaries to ELL lessons and Performance Tasks that can enrich your lessons.

Home Connection Letter



EssayScorer

Let me show you one of my favorite resources. The EssayScorer tool that automatically grades students' essays and provides immediate feedback for revising and improving writing. It's super easy to use and will save you a ton of time!



Program-level Resources

Let's look at some program-level resources under the Unit Resources tab. Here you'll find graphic organizers like the First-Read Guide, Close-Read Guide, and Evidence Log.

These are really cool because they are editable PDFs. That means you can assign them to your students and they can type in them directly and save their work. Pretty awesome, right?



Assessments

Let's look at the assessments now. In myPerspectives the assessments can be administered in print or online. I'll show you how to get to the online ones. Back on the Table of Contents you'll see the Assessments tab.

Here you'll find Selection Tests, Unit Tests, and Beginning-, Middle-, and End-of-Year Tests.



Customizable Content

One of the features I really like about myPerspectives is the flexibility that's built into the program. It allows you to customize the content to meet your needs.

You can add content, modify it, link it, and rearrange it into any order that aligns with your district's English Language Arts framework.

With Google Classroom™ integration, you can combine this content with your Google Classroom instructional plans to better reach all learners. With one click, you can share this content through Google Classroom via the Classroom Share Button.



myPerspectives Plus

Another digital resource that I really like is myPerspectives Plus.

Under Programs, click the thumbnail myPerspectives Plus ELA Grades 6-12.

Here you'll find hundreds of amazing resources to meet the diverse needs of your students. Look at these...a digital library, grammar tutorials, graphic organizers, rubrics….the list is endless!



Standards

Okay, let me show you what's on the Standards tab. Here you can view the Common Core standards for myPerspectives and drill down to see more details about each standard.



Tools

Under the Tools tab over here, you'll find the Student Edition in PDF format. Every unit is listed as well as the Table of Contents and Tool Kit.



Classes

The Classes tab is where you can create classes, add students, create and manage assignments, and plan what's next using the calendar feature.



Data

For the data geek, the Data tab here provides student and class data that shows standards mastery on assessments, online activity, and overall progress.

You can also view data individually by student from the class assignment list. There are three types of reports available: Mastery, Progress, and Usage.



Digital Perspectives Icons

Okay, I'm going to leave you with one last cool digital feature of the program. Digital Perspectives icons, located in the print Teacher's Edition, identify the digital resources available to you.

Your students can access multimedia resources and interactive tools directly from the print Student Edition through the Savvas BouncePages app. Right from students' own devices! Can't get cooler than that!

Media assets available for BouncePages are indicated by the Scan for Multimedia icon in the Student Edition. You can download Savvas's BouncePages to a tablet or smartphone through the mobile app store.
