Myla Faith- was born on June 19, 2017 to Casey & Hannah Goss of Wenatchee, WA. Mylas CDH diagnoses meant that she had a hole in her diaphragm which allowed some of her organs to move into her chest and prevented proper lung development. When she was born, she had part of her bowel, kidneys and 60% of her liver up in her chest. After dong their own research and consulting with the specialists in Seattle, the Goss family decided to relocate to St. Petersburg, FL to see a specialist at Johns Hopkins -All Childrens Hospital. www.miasmovingmountains.com At 20 weeks gestation, Myla was diagnosed with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH) and the Gosswere told she would need life-saving surgery shortly after birth. Mylas story continued... About a month after the Goss family arrived in Florida, Myla was born, weighing exactly 7 lbs. and measuring 18 ¼ inches long. Myla was placed on ECMO (heart and lung bypass) 18 hours after birth and remained on ECMO for 20 long days. She was intubated for a month and could not be held during that time. She had two major surgeries to put her organs back in their proper place and to patch her diaphragm. Myla also had another surgery to remove a blood clot that had formed around her heart. Myla spent 64 days in the NICU and the Gossresided in Florida from the beginning of May, until they were allowed to make their long trek home to Wenatchee on August 31st. As Mylas journey continues, we feel honored to be a small part of her life and to call her a Friend of Mia”. “We have HOPE ... We are trusting in God’s plan for our family.
