Myla Faith- was born on June 19, 2017 to Casey & Hannah Goss
of Wenatchee, WA.
Myla’s CDH diagnoses meant that she had a hole in
her diaphragm which allowed some of her organs to
move into her chest and prevented proper lung
development. When she was born, she had part of
her bowel, kidneys and 60% of her liver up in her
chest.
After dong their own research and consulting with
the specialists in Seattle, the Goss family decided to
relocate to St. Petersburg, FL to see a specialist at
Johns Hopkins -All Children’s Hospital.

At 20 weeks gestation, Myla was
diagnosed with Congenital
Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH) and the
Goss’ were told she would need
life-saving surgery shortly after birth.
Myla’s story continued...
About a month after the Goss family arrived in Florida,
Myla was born, weighing exactly 7 lbs. and measuring 18 ¼
inches long. Myla was placed on ECMO (heart and lung
bypass) 18 hours after birth and remained on ECMO for 20 long
days. She was intubated for a month and could not be held
during that time.
She had two major surgeries to put her organs back in their
proper place and to patch her diaphragm. Myla also had
another surgery to remove a blood clot that had formed around
her heart.
Myla spent 64 days in the NICU and the Goss’ resided in
Florida from the beginning of May, until they were
allowed to make their long trek home to Wenatchee
on August 31st.
As Myla’s journey continues, we feel honored to be a small part of her life
and to call her a “Friend of Mia”.
“We have HOPE ... We are trusting
in God’s plan for our family. Thank you
to everyone who has been and
continues to pray for our family.”
