• Fresh fruit is healthiest, but you can also eat it dried, from a can or frozen.

• To eat more fruit, add bananas to cereal and keep a snack of cut-up apples in the refrigerator.

• Enjoy the natural sweetness and flavor of fruit – no need to add sugar!

• With so many kinds of fruit, it is fun to try new ones, like kiwi or starfruit.

Can you think of another healthy eating rule?

Here are some good rules for healthy eating:

8

Eating healthy gives you energy to have fun!

• Remember: half of your meal should be fruits and vegetables.

• Do not make healthy food less healthy by adding a lot of extras, like butter, sauces and dressings.

• Protein and dairy foods have different amounts of fat; choose the low fat or fat-free ones most often.

• Sweet extras, like candy and sugary drinks, can be bad for your teeth!
