The Bible tells usyour old lifestyle has passed away and you have began a new life.

Therefore, as a new born baby desires the sincere milk to grow; you will need God's word togrow in the grace that is in the Lord Jesus Christ. To grow in grace and in the knowledge ofthe Lord; you need to feed daily on God's word and fellowship with Him in prayer. The Biblesays: “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby” ( 1Peter 2:2 ) When you begin to grow in the grace that is in the Lord Jesus Christ. You need torecognise you are now a member of God's family; and you need fellowship. This is theprimary reason for Churches. However, it is important what you feed your faith with. Toguide against wrong doctrines and feeble tails you need to be acquainted with God's word ona personal basis. The Bible says to “study to shew yourself approve unto God” ( 2 Timothy2:15 ).

This devotional material will help you to study God's word and be exposed to His guidingtruth. This devotional book is divided into four major parts. The first part teaches on theprimary and essential Christian basics. The second part contains some of the most inspiring,encouraging, meaningful and promising hymns pointing to the cross of Christ. These hymnswere written and have be sung by saints of old, has brought untold revival to countlessbelievers in Christ like you; and is still ultilise in contemporary bible based churches, andministries. You can learn them, sing them and make melody in your heart unto God. TheBible says in Ephesians 5:19: “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritualsongs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord”.

The third part of this book contains four months of daily devotional exercise. It is our prayer;as you read and study them daily, you will be encouraged, and guided by the Holy Spiritgradually into the truth of God's word on a daily basis. And will understand the applicationand interpretation of the Holy Scriptures. The fourth part is a six months personal and dailyscriptural study. As you deliberately discipline and study God's word daily you will be guidedto the truth by the Holy Spirit, and will then be able to answer some questions on your own asit relates to the Holy Scriptures and your daily life.



We require you to answer and submit your answer sheets at the end of each month or withinthree months of your personal studies. This will enable us walk closely with you andprayerfully assist you in whichever way the Lord leads us. After we receive all your answersto the six months biblical exercises; we will then step you up to My New nature in Christ:Volume Two; which is a more advance devotional material, covering a period of twelvemonths ( 1 Year ). THIS NEW LIFE

“And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness” Ephesians 4:24

The bible teaches us; when we accept God's means of salvation, which is His only begottenSon Jesus Christ; we then receive a new life and are now expected to learn to live inaccordance with this new nature in Christ. Our old lifestyle is no longer in existence. A newlife began, which is unmerited, but imputed into us by our simply art of obedience; believing,accepting the gospel, and asking the Lord Jesus Christ into our life. Colossians 1:13 says:“Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness and hath translated us into the kingdomof his dear Son”. You made a quality and eternal beneficial decision to change sides; from thepower of darkness and disobedience to the kingdom of light and obedience to God throughHis Son-Jesus Christ. You no longer pattern your life after the manner of disobedience toGod, and living under the bondage of darkness; which is enmity to God and controlled by thedevil. Rather you are a new creature and lives in a new kingdom. Apostle Paul speakingconcerning this new nature in Christ; said: “And you hath he quickened, who were dead intrespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this worldaccording to the prince of the power of the air the spirit that now worketh in the children ofdisobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lust of ourflesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children ofwrath even as others”. Ephesians 2:1-3 Apostle Paul wrote this epistle from a personalexperience and fulfillment. In verse 1 of this chapter he said: “You hath he quickened, whowere dead in trespasses and sin”

Praise God! He quickened us. The word quickens means made alive. It means resurrectedfrom the dead. Its original meaning and use here means to forcefully call a dead person backfrom death realm, and to give him or her brand new life. We are made alive by God throughChrist.

Saul was made alive and became Paul. Saul persecuted the Christians; and on his way toDamascus to persecute believers in Christ he encountered true life in Christ ( Acts9 ). He thenbecame Paul and was now able to say: “Receive us; we have wronged no man, we havecorrupted no man, we have defrauded no man” ( 2 Corinthians 7:2 ). From Saul who waspersecuting Christians to Paul an Apostle of Jesus Christ, ( 2 Corinthians 1:1 ). He became achanged person; with a new nature in Christ. You are a new person in Christ. And should nolonger pattern your life after the manner of the old lifestyle described in Ephesians 2:2“Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world according to the princeof the power of the air the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience”.

Your old style of life passed away when you embrace the cross of Christ; so you shouldforsake it completely. “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things arepassed away; behold, all things are become new” ( 2 Corinthians 5:17 ). We are no morechildren of wrath and no more live under the bondage of condemnation and eternal separationfrom God, but are now children of God and members of God's family.



GOD’S FAMILY

“Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow-citizens with the saints, and of the household of God”

At new birth you became a member of God's family. God became your heavenly Father andyou became His child. You now have the same legal right and privileges as other believers inChrist to call God your heavenly Father, and enjoy His fellowship. You are now a member ofGod's household. “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye havereceived the Spirit of adoption whereby we cry Abba, Father” ( Romans 8:15 ). Never letintimidation, fear or prejudice overcome you. Stand firm in this new life and run this race setbefore you to the end. “And because ye are sons God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son intoyour hearts, crying, Abba Father” ( Galatians 4:6 ). As members of God's family, God expectsyou to live in the newness of life and to fellowship with other members of God's family.Fellowshipping with other Christian believers is biblical, and should not be underestimated.This is one of the primary purpose of the churche. It is a place we worship; hear God's word,and fellowship with other believers in Christ. The original meaning of the word Church is‘ecclesia’, which means ‘called out ones', you are called out of worldly system to God'ssystem. We are in the world but we are not of the world ( John 17:14, James 4:4 ). This meansyour life is now govern according to the detects of God's word. The church is the 'body ofChrist'.

You are now a member of Christ body!

Every member of God's family must attend, and be part of a local church. Hebrews 10:25says: “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; butexhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching”. It is veryimportant to realise that just as not every member of the family is perfect, in the same waythe Church is not for perfect people, but for those growing in the Christian faith. There areup's and down. Christ never promised a smooth ride but promised to keep us in our race andto perfect every one of us at the end. As members of God's family, God knows each of us anddesires our personal fellowship and relationship with Him.

Apostle Paul speaking concerning this; encourages us to continue to develop a personalrelationship with our heavenly Father, and to gain a good sense of direction through the HolySpirit. In this way we get to know Him better, and can stand our guard against errors andfalse doctrines these last days. Philippians 2:12 says “Wherefore, my beloved, as ye havealways obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work outyour own salvation with fear and trembling”. You are a member of God's family and shouldbe involve in a local church where the word of God is taught without compromise, and whereyou can fellowship, and be involve in sharing your Christian experience and faith with others;and grow in grace.



GROWTH & GROWING

“But grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” 2 Peter 3:18

Growth is essential in this new life. Growth involves time and effort. As believers in Christwe don’t stop growing; the day we stop growing that’s the day we start declining. Ourheavenly Father desires our growth in His grace. To grow as a believer in the grace of Christ,we must learn to be consistent and be discipline in every effort towards growth. There aresome proven biblical pattern towards growth and growing in this new life in Christ. ApostlePeter speaking concerning growth said: “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of theword, that ye may grow thereby” (1Peter2:2). The first admonition here is to ‘desire’. Togrow in grace and the knowledge of Christ; you must have a longing desire; have a craving todevelop from one point to another. As believers in Christ we must have a longing desire asnew born babes desires milk to grow; to grow in grace. Our desires for growth should befocus and centered on the ‘sincere milk of the word’. This means our growth depends on theattention we give to God’s word.

You must deliberately discipline yourself to read and study God’s word constantly; make it adaily exercise to study God’s word. At no time should you stop growing or out grown biblicalprinciples, or scriptural admonitions. Growth involves fellowship. Our heavenly Fatherdesires our fellowship. Apostle Paul speaking concerning this said: “God is faithful, by whomye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord” (1Corithians 1:9). Oneof the ways to develop this relationship is through a constant fellowship in prayer and studyof God’s word. Prayer is a very essential part of growth in this new life. To grow in grace youmust learn to pray at all times.

Prayer is simply talking to our heavenly Father and waiting on Him to speak back to ourspirit-man. When we received the gospel and ask the Lord Jesus Christ into our lives wereceived the new nature in Christ. This new nature in Christ is the regeneration of our spirit,which continuously involves the renewing of our minds with God’s word; and eventuallybuilds our characters in our new nature in Christ. The Holy Spirit enables us to grow fromglory to glory. We are not perfect yet; we sometimes may fail, but we don’t stop growing ingrace. Growth depends solely on your obedience to the Holy Spirit. As believers in Christ wehave the Holy Spirit, which enables us daily towards perfection in Christ. As we grow ingrace we are changed daily.

As believers in Christ, growing must be consistent; it must be a continuous exercise andinvolves tenderness and trimming. We must never stop growing and must learn to exerciseforbearance, perseverance, and exhibits the fruits of the Holy Spirit. (Galatians 5:22)Growing in grace involves taking up your cross daily. Our Lord Jesus Christ speaking aboutour continuous fellowship with Him said: “…whosoever will come after me, let him denyhimself, and take up his cross, and follow me” (Mark 8:34). In growing we must be selfless,none of us and all of Christ and His cross. In growing in grace our faith are tried.

But we must learn to lean on the Cross of Christ at all times. Temptations should not stop usfrom growth. Sometimes we are chastised and challenged by God’s word; we should never bediscouraged. Apostle Paul speaking concerning this said: “If ye endure chastening, Goddealeth with you as with sons, for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?” (Hebrews12:7). The essence of growing in grace is to bring forth fruit in God’s kingdom and to run



our Christian race triumphantly to the end. Our Lord Jesus Christ admonished us to be fruitfuland to expect pruning as we progresses towards fruitfulness. “Every branch in me thatbeareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it maybring forth more fruit.” (John15:2)

Growing is a process and we are to grow in grace through discipline and deliberate effort.Growth is only possible through the Holy Spirit. As believers in Christ, we must allow theHoly Spirit to take full control of our lives. By yielding our will to God’s word, praying at alltimes, fellowshipping with other believers in Christ, listening to God’s word and sharing ourChristian faith and experience with others. Apostle Peter speaking concerning this process ofgrowth said: “…giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And toknowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And togodliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you,and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge ofour Lord Jesus Christ” (2Peter1:5-8)

All Things Are New!"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature:

You became a new creature when you simply embrace the cross of Christ, and asked JesusChrist into your life to become your personal Lord and savour. You are forgiven and madewhole by the blood of Jesus Christ; you are now reconciled with God. You received a newnature, which is after the likeness of Jesus Christ. This is the new birth!

Because of this new nature in Christ, you can boldly make this affirmation of faith:

“All things are new; it is my year of great things. It is a new beginning of fulfillment and atime of refreshing in the Lord’s presence. It is no good charging my ideas unless I havechanged deep down in the secret place of my heart and mind. DAY 2

Change"And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven

and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea" Revelation 21:1

There is a new Heaven and a new Earth coming where there will be no more fear, death,sickness, diseases, and there will be no night there. Only those who take refuge at the cross ofChrist will be part of this heavenly Jerusalem. Apostle John received a clear revelation of thenew Heaven and the new Earth; and said: “I saw a new heaven…" (Verse 1)

It is good to renew your mind daily with God’s word and remind yourself of your responsibleto discipline yourself and walk with Christ daily in the light of His word. You can onlybecome a part of the New Jerusalem when you trust and obey God’s word.

Make this confession of faith:

“It is what I make of myself that determine how much I’m worth to God. It is how much I’mworth to Him that counts at the final reckoning. It is easier to slip back than to move forward,therefore I must make a tremendous effort and be determine in my mind to fulfill God’spurpose daily; so that I might see the New Jerusalem, the holy city of God; where there willbe no death and no darkness. So help me Lord!"

Scripture: "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." Revelation 21:4

DAY 3

Make Time for God!"But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such scarifies God is well pleased."

Hebrews 13:16

Remind yourself of your responsibility to disciple yourself to pray and study God’s wordcontinuously in order to grow in the grace that is in the Lord Jesus Christ.

“Won’t five, ten or more minutes spent daily in the quite atmosphere of some holy place domore for me physically and mentally than all the doctors and psychiatrists in creation?

Squeezing five, ten or more minutes out of my busy day for getting right with my very selfand God will make me a better person for His kingdom. I should be serious in my quest forGod, adherence to a plan and pattern”.

Scripture: "But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even theornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price." 1 Peter 3:4

DAY 4

Open the Line Always"Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands,

ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double-minded." James 4:8

You must keep the line open by praying without ceasing so as to always be empowered topractice your Christianity on the metaphysical side. As a believer in Christ you must wait onGod daily in prayer and stay continuously on His word.

Remind yourself constantly of the need to lean completely on Christ.

“It is my duty to keep the line open and it’s me that must lift the receiver. I must make theword of God and prayer my daily exercise, because the secret of training my soul is livingcontinuously in divine communication with God; my Heavenly Father”.

DAY 5

Give No Place!"Neither give place to the devil."

Ephesians 4:27

As you draw near to the Lord and walk in His purpose daily; you are transformed, and changed from glory to glory. And your inner-man, which is created in God’s righteousness and true holiness, comes alive. In this way the enemy is kept away.

Remind yourself of your God-given ability!

“I have the power to keep the devil away from my life through the preaching of the cross of Christ that redeems”.

Apostle Paul admonished us; to give no place to the devil in our lives. To "give no place" is tostay away from sin and those things that spoil the vine. To "give no place" is to be on your guard is prayer, and be watchful through the light of God’s word.

Scripture: "Be sober and vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walkingabout, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that thesame afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world." 1 Peter 5:8, 9

DAY 6

Walk in Love"And walk in love, as Christ hath loved us, and hath given himself

for us an offering and sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savour" Ephesians 5:2

Just as you received God’s mercies and forgiveness for your sins; you are also expects toshow mercy and walk in unconditional love without compromise, fear or prejudice. God gaveHis best for you. God is love! And as member of His family you are to daily demonstrateGod’s character; showing the positive of every native spirit. Christ willingly offered Himselfat Calvary cross to redeem us from sin. We are His representative here on earth and shouldtherefore; show forth His purpose to our families, friends, neighbors and colleagues. Walkingin love is to love God, love His people and do His will and purpose among men.

Scripture: "For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and hiscommandments are not grievous." 1 John 5:3

DAY 7

Grieve not the Holy Spirit!"And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed

unto the day of redemption" Ephesians 4:30

The Holy Spirit is the seal of all true believers in Christ. And He is gentle, peaceful andwilling to help us, but needs our cooperation. We must co-operation with the Holy Spirit byrelying completely on Christ and the cross of Christ; in this way we will be able to live inholiness, obedience and fulfill God’s desires for our lives. Sin hinders the move of the HolySpirit in the life of a believer and stops the move of God. Therefore, you must constantlystudy God’s word and allow His word to dwell in you richly; singing and making melodiesunto the Lord from a pure heart.

Scripture: "But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he thatraised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit thatdwelleth in you" Romans 8:11

DAY 8

Walk in the Light

"Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house."

Matthew 5:15

You are a representative of Christ here, and must live like Christ in word, deeds, thoughtsand actions. Your life must proclaim Christ daily. Believers in Christ are light in this darkenworld; without the presence of believers in Christ on earth the world will be in utter darkness.Darkness is not of God, it represents worthlessness. "Let your light so shine before men, thatthey may see your good works…" verse16

Scripture: "I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abidein darkness." John 12:46

DAY 9

Good Works

"But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth"

Matthew 6:3

The Lord expects you to serve without selfishness; without fear or compromise. He wantsyou to do good selflessly to His household, and to those who are without. God desires thebest for us. You will open the doors for His blessings upon your life, when you are committedto His purpose in the lives of others. Your religious duties should be void of hypocrisy. Ratherfix your eyes on Christ the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy set before Himendured the cross.

Scripture: "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit thefatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world."James 1:27

Your religious duties should be void of hypocrisy.



DAY 10

Judge Yourself

"Judge not, that ye be not judged." Matthew 7:1

Judgment is of God, and expects us to give Him the rightful place. We must first judgeourselves by putting those little things right between Him and ourselves. Secondly, throughthe proclamation of His word among men "…pull out the mote out of thine eye…then shaltthou see clearly…every good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit…"(verse 5, 8). I must walkwith people in love and patience so as to direct them to the true love of God, and not leadthem to a furious God without love.

DAY 11

True Relationship

"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but hethat doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven."

Matthew 7:21

Our foundation should be strong and confidently firm, and rooted in the Lord Jesus Christ. Itis a solid foundation that stands the test of times and the trail of faith. Our faith is oftenproven in dark places when no one seems to be watching. God watches and judges the intentof our hearts. The heart is what matters and counts on our walk with God. "Not every one thatsaith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the willof my Father which is in heaven." (Verse 21)

Scripture: "Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open thedoor, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." Revelation 3:20

God watches and judges the intent of our hearts.



DAY 12

Mountain Top

"When he was come down from the mountain, great multitude followed him" Matthew 8:1

Our Lord Jesus Christ spent countless quality times with God the Father in prayers; andmany miracles followed His ministry. We must also learn to spend quality time with God inprayer and in the study of His word alone, so as to carry His divine presence daily.

The more time you spend with God alone in prayer, the more you will understand Him, andare able to relay His message correctly to others. "When he was come down from themountain, great multitude followed him" (verse 1) Mountain top experience is a transformingexperience.

We must also learn to spend quality time with God in prayer and in the study of His word.



DAY 13

Decisions

"And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him" Matthew 8:7

The numerous miracles, which took place in the lives of many people in the scriptures, wereas a result of quality decisions. For example: From the leper: "Lord if thou wilt, thou canstmake me clean" From the centurion: "…Lord…speak the word and my servant will behealed" From the woman with the issue of blood: "…if I may but touch the hem of his clothsI shall be healed". We are all faced with decisions daily and our decisions affects us positivelyor negatively; therefore we must make it our duty to bring Jesus Christ into all our decisionsdaily.

Scripture: "Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive withmeekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls." James 1:21

DAY 14

Believe Daily

"And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done untothee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour."

Matthew 8:13

It is not enough to make quality decision; but you must go beyond those choices to put yourfaith to work on a daily basis. "Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done untothee…"(verse 13). God expects you to trust and obey Him; trust His written and spokenword; and trust the fulfillment of His plan and purpose in your life. You must learn to receiveand walk in the light of His living word daily.

DAY 15

Fellow Citizens

"Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow-citizens with the saints,and of the household of God."

Ephesians 2:19

I am honoured by God to be a partaker of the heavenly calling and fellow-citizens with thesaints, and of the household of God. A song writer said: “what a privilege; it is a privilege forone to leave this world and follow Christ…” As a believer in Christ you are never alone in astrange world, but are fellow-citizens with the saints, and of the household of God.

You are surrounded by God’s people; you are coming from somewhere and going to a better place. Remind yourself and affirm:

“I am still growing and will keep on growing into "…holy temple in the Lord" (verse 21) I am not my own, but bought with a price – the precious blood of my Lord and savior Jesus Christ; and I am now the temple of God "… an habitation of God through the Spirit" (verse 22)

Scripture: "Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession Christ Jesus." Hebrews 3:1

DAY 16

I am Alive

"And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins" Ephesians 2:1

Through Christ, God brought us life and delivered us from sin; its bondages; shame, failureand its weakness. Therefore, we must begin to live above sin and its curses. Though there isalways temptations, the trail of faith, and sin every where around us, but God’s grace isbigger, greater; deeper, and wide enough to sustain us when we trust and obey Him willingly.

"…sin shall have no dominion over me…" (Romans 6:14) Let your life glorify God daily byallowing His work to be made manifest in me.

Scripture: "Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto Godthrough Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:11

DAY 17

His Workmanship

"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hathbefore ordained that we should walk in them."

Ephesians 2:10

The finished work of Christ at Calvary cross keeps you alive unto Him. You are God’sworkmanship. Through the sulvivic work of Christ you are both His working place and Histools for changing the world. You must allow God to work on you, and relay on the cross tobe effective. It is not always easy allowing God’s work in and through us; it takes discipline,obedience and faithfulness. As God’s workmanship we are open to vulnerability but He keepsus strong and purposeful in accomplishing His will, particularly as we willingly openourselves and invite Him to use us as His servants. "For He is our peace…"(verse 14)

Scripture: "If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour,sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work." 2 Timothy2:21

DAY 18

God Made the World

"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth" Genesis 1:1

We are created in the image and likeness of God, and for His pleasure. We are notaccidental and do not just exist for nothing and are such, are not here for nothing but are hereto fulfill a divine purpose; God’s given purpose and dream. We are created to fulfill God’svision. This vision includes all that is on the earth. "The earth is the Lord’s and the fullnessthereof; the world, and they that dwell therein." (Psalm 24:1)

Remind and affirm to yourself:

‘God delights in me and takes pleasure in me and all that concerns me.’ "And God blessedthem, saying Be fruitful, and multiply…"(verse 22)

Scripture: "He hath made every thing beautify in his time: also he hath set the world in theirheart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end"Ecclesiastes 3:11

DAY 19

Keep Death Away

"But of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for the day that thoueatest thereof thou shalt surely die"

Genesis 2:17

God made man perfect and gave us the power to rule and reign in life. He made us a choicemaker and points us towards the right direction, but our decision will either keep death awayor in. "…the day thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die" (verse 17). The forbidden treerepresents the power of our choice. It was sad that Adam disobeyed God and eat of theforbidden fruit, and therewith allow death into human race.

Praise God!

Our Lord Jesus Christ became the second Adam, and swallowed up death and brought lifeand the power to choose life back to the human race. It is our choice to keep death away byreceiving Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and savour, avoiding sin. "The wages of sin, isdeath, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" Romans 6:23

Scripture: "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoeverbelieveth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16

Thought

It is our choice to keep death away by receiving Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and savour,avoiding sin.



DAY 20

Second Adam

"For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive" 1 Corinthians 15:22

The redemptive work of the second Adam - Jesus Christ; delivered us from the bondage ofthe first Adam. We are no more under the power of the curse of the law of sin and death, butare now under God’s grace.

Remind and affirm to yourself:

“I am free to be me again through Christ! The more I allow His purpose and plan to take fullcontrol in my life the more I come alive in Him through His word and prayer. Christ is myLord and God is the head of Christ. "I am a partaker of the heavenly calling" (Hebrews 3:1)

Scripture: "Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himselflikewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power ofdeath, that is, the devil" Hebrews 2:14

I am free to be me again through Christ!



DAY 21

Fear and Faith

"And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water,to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wide boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he

cried, saying, Lord, save me." Matthew 14:29, 30.

Don’t allow fear, failure, intimidation or any negative influences to hold you down; evenwhen the circumstances seem un-pleasant. Christ is the light that reassured! Apostle Peterlater demonstrated great faith after failing to walk doubtlessly on water on Christ invitation.(verse29, Acts 3:6). Christ desires us to walk on trouble waters, and to overcome unpleasantcircumstances that seems to surrounding us daily by using His word. To Peter: "...Come..."verse 29. But his faith was replaced with his fears so he began to sink until he cried out"...Lord, save me" verse 30. To us in the contemporary church settings as believers in Christ:"Have faith in God...doubt not...but believe" Mark 11:22, 23.

Fear is not of God, faith is of God. "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power,and of love, and of a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7) I replace my fear with faith.

Scripture: “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of asound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7

DAY 22

Flee these things

“But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith,love, patience, meekness.”

1Timothy 6:11

Today has come with its cares, wants and troubles, but God’s word is new each morning,capable to carry you through as you rely on the cross of Christ and allow His word to renewyour mind constantly; and take one step at a time. “But godliness with contentment is greatgain” (verse 6). Many of the present ills that we suffer are due to worries, the one weacknowledge and the ones we hide. Apostle Paul advices us to “…flee these things…” (Verse11). Flee sin, flee worries, flee the cares of life, and flee the little, little foxes that soil thevine.

Scripture: “And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.” 1 John 3:3

Allow His word to renew your mind constantly; and take one step at a time.



DAY 23

Flee and Fight

“Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, andhast professed a good profession before many witnesses.”

1Timothy 6:12

It takes obedience to God’s word in order to fight the good fight of faith. When we receiveGod’s word, and allow the word to take first place in our activities; we will automatically befighting away the evil, the sin, the doubt, the intimidation and every high thing that seems toexalt itself against the knowledge of God in our lives. To flee is to disallow, it is to run awayfrom swiftly. We should not play or tolerate sin or compromise with it in any form. To “Fightthe good fight…” is a quality and deliberate choice based on God’s word. “…lay hold oneternal life…” (Verse 12)

Scripture: “Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesusthe Son of God; let us hold fast our profession.” Hebrews 4:14

DAY 24

Laying up a Good Foundation

“Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they maylay hold on eternal life.”

1Timothy 6:19

The work of righteousness and labour of love in God’s word, and in the field of evangelismis never wasted; it is an investment, and eternal treasure laid up in glory for the faithful. Weshould never discriminate between the rich and the poor, black or white; rather we shouldglorify God daily in the spirit of love and servant hood. God’s word is the solid rock, theunshakable and good foundation. Build on good foundation - God’s word. We should avoiderror and the compromise of God’s word so as to overcome falsehood and mistakes of thepast, and to silence false teachers and liars. “Grace be multiply unto me! Amen.

Scripture: “Lay not u for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt,and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven,where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal”Matthew 6:19, 20

DAY 25

Stir up Your Gift

“Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee bythe putting on of my hands.”

2 Timothy 1:6

Many of us have neglected the gift of God in us. Some of which we prayed for and havereceived from the Lord, and some we have once used but are not using as a result ofcarelessness. Stir up your God-given gift! The gift and calling of God are without repentance.The Lord expects us to put them to use for His glory. The gift may be preaching, visitation,welcoming people to the church, singing, mission, praying for others; discipleship,supporting an evangelist and mission work. It’s time to stir up the gift of God in you. Becomeeffectively involve in advancing God’s kingdom. Develop and grow your gift.

Scripture: “For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, notmany mighty, not many noble, are called.” 1 Corinthians 1:26

DAY 26

Endurance

“Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ” 2 Timothy 2:3

Endurance is the ability to hold on to the Lord, to His word, to His way in the face of allodds, persecution, test, trails and temptations. God expects us to demonstrate faith in Hisability and power to do what He says He will do. As Christians we must be strong in the Lordand in the power of His word. Our focus should not be distracted from our heavenly calling.Our eyes should be fixed on Christ of whom we are soldiers. “Therefore I endure all thingsfor the elect’s sakes, that they may obtain salvation…” (verse10)

Scripture: “And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake; but he that shall endure untothe end the same shall be saved.” Mark 13:13

Our eyes should be fixed on Christ of whom we are soldiers.



DAY 27

A Merry Heart

“A merry heart doeth good like medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones” Proverbs 17:22

Rejoice in the Lord and ‘again’ Apostle Paul admonished us to “rejoice”. Solomon says thatmerriment and misery are infectious. Therefore, arise and don’t be cast down. Trust in theLord and praise Him, because He is the health of your salvation. The enemy uses everynegative influence to bring us down but we are commanded by God’s word to rise up and bejoyful in the Lord and in the power of His might. The more we praise God at difficult times,the more we see His glory. Praise the Lord!

Scripture: “Rejoice evermore” 1 Thessalonians 5:16

Trust in the Lord and praise Him who is the health of my salvation.



DAY 28

Follow Me!

“And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” Matthew 4:19

We are called by the Lord out of the world and sent back into the world to change the worldto His glory. “…fishers of men…” are Christ witnesses; they are soul-winners and thoseproclaiming His word to the ends of the earth. The greatest desire of the Lord is to allow Himchange us to His glory and praise, which can only become possible when we obey His call“…follow me…” and when we allow Him to “…make…” us; only then are we able to be “…fishers of men.” I am an instrument in God’s hands!

Scripture: “If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour,sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.” 2 Timothy2:21

We are called by the Lord out of the world and sent back into the world to change the worldto His glory.



DAY 29

Follow the Word

“Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whomhe is like. He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation ona rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not

shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.” Luke 6:47, 48

Build your faith in God’s word; it is the only true foundation. When the word of God takesfull preeminence of your activities you will become victorious. This victorious does not comebecause of your works, but because of your simple act of faith and obedience to thesimplicity of the gospel of peace. ‘To follow the word’ is to constantly judge all things in thelight of God’s word on a daily basis. Live by the word, “…for the just shall live by faith”(Galatians 3:11)

Scripture: “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching andadmonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in yourhearts to the Lord” Colossians 3:16

DAY 30

Follow the Holy Spirit

“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God” Romans 8:14

The Holy Spirit guarantees your salvation; He is the comforter, counselor, and strengthener.He directs us into all truth. The Holy Spirit is very gentle and does not force us against ourwill. The Holy Spirit does show us the right path, and expects us to obediently follow Hisleading in order to gives us fulfillment. Without the Holy Spirit in the world the world willcompletely be doom, dark and without God’s light. We must make every effort to allow theHoly Spirit take full control of our lives; in this way we will be ready for the coming of ourLord Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit is our seal unto the day of redemption. Listen, obey andfollow the Holy Spirit.

Scripture: “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, whowalk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” Romans 12:1

The Holy Spirit does show us the right path, and expects us to obediently follow His leading in order to gives us fulfillment.



DAY 31

Obedience

God requires your simple obedient to His word; our faith and focus should be centered onChrist and His cross. The more you study, and allow God’s word to change you; the more youare conformed to His will and purpose for your life. Hypocritical works and religiousactivities are not necessarily obedience. Obedience is a total conformity to God’s will andpurpose for our lives. It means you are doing what the Holy Spirit wants done, which isalways in accordance with the word of God.

Scripture: “Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants yeare to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?”Romans 6:16

Second Month

DAY 32

Of your Penury or Abundance.

“And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury. And he sawalso a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites”

Luke 21:1, 2

God expects us to willingly respond to the needs of others as well as to His mission onearth. Giving is a choice we make and not a force. God established its principles “While theearth remaineth, seedtime and harvest …shall not cease” (Genesis 8:22). We must becheerful kingdom investors. For the rich giving means or may not mean anything, dependingon the offering; this is because the value of what you give is determine by what you have.“For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penuryhath cast in all the living that she had.” (verse 4) Giving is a sacrifice either in cash or kind.

Returning.

“I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven,and before thee.”

The prodigal son came to his senses and returned back to His father, in the same manner weshould return to the Lord in many areas of our lives; we should return to the Lord where wehave fallen short of His glory. Return: In prayer, in seeking His decision, in seeking His ways,in studying His word and spending quality time with Him in fellowship, in witnessing andeven where we have missed the mark, and at our crossroads. “In returning and rest shall ye besaved” Isaiah 30:15. Search me O Lord, and set me free!

DAY 34

Abide in Christ.

“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in thevine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.” John 15:4

Christ is the true vine and we are the branches. Our growth depends on our attachment andfoundation. “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except itabide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.” (verse 4) The cross of Christ is ourrefuge; and safest place to generate ceaseless strength for our heavenly race.

You will only become fruitful when you remain in the water of life, which is God’s livingword – Christ. You are invited and accepted by the Lord to abide in Him. Praise God! “Andnow, little children abide in him…” (1 John 2:28)

Scripture: “If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from thehope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which isunder heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister.” Colossians 1:23

Call Upon Me.

“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not”

Jeremiah 33:3

It is a great opportunity for us as believers in Christ to have a direct line into heaven. It is aprivilege for us to have God’s unbreakable promises to answer us whenever we call. “Callunto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowestnot” (verse 3). The promises of God comfort us in our various struggles of life, in times ofweakness, in times of lack and in times of decision making. The Lord desires us to invite Himinto our circumstances, and allow Him help us. Come help me Lord!

Scripture: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him thatknocketh it shall be opened.” Matthew 7:8

Everything Matters.

Let every minute of your life count to God’s glory. Everything is trivial; nothing is toosmall. A kind word is everything to a broken hearted; no good deed is ever wasted. We cannotafford to neglect any chance of doing a service for others. God uses everything for Hispurpose. We may not know how much our little contribution to mission means. Every stitchcounts. Everything God does is for His glory and His glory only. ‘Lord, use me as you seemsfit in Jesus name. Amen!

Preach Christ

Our message to the world should be sound, clear and well understood by our listeners. Andthe only way the gospel will find its way into the hearts of men is to proclaim Christcrucified. “But we preach Christ crucified…” unto all race. The preaching of the cross isJesus is Lord, and nothing less or more. It is centering our message on His finished work atthe cross and living in the light of His word without compromise. The preaching of the crossis “…the power of God unto salvation” May my life proclaim Christ.

Servant of Christ.

“Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God.”

Romans 1:1

Servant hood is the beginning of upliftment in the ministry; Apostle Paul in many of hisletters called himself a servant of Jesus Christ. You must humble yourself under the mightyhand of God that you might be exalted. Serve God with gladness; and selflessly serve in thechurch; in ministry; in your neighborhood, and reflect Christ glory in the society.

‘Am I a servant of Christ?’ ‘Am I separated unto the gospel of Christ?’ Lord, let my life beseparated unto you in Jesus name, Amen. “Among whom are ye also the called of JesusChrist.” (verse6)

Many of us are ashamed to proclaim Christ among our peers, friends; relatives and publicly.In the Church we shout and sing God’s praise; then why can’t we also proclaim Christpublicly where it really counts? “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is thepower of God unto salvation to every one that believeth…” (Verse 16)

Grace Unto Me.

God has made His grace available to you; unlimited grace to live above sin and thetemptations of this present world. Grace is unlimited favour. It is not earn but free gift thatcame through the sulvivic work of Christ to all those who believes and receive Him as Lordand saviour.

The Gift of God

The woman at Jacob’s well did not understood God’s giftuntil her eyes were opened to the truth. “…If thou knewest the gift of God, and who is thatsaith to thee…” (verse 10). Let’s appreciate the gift of God to humanity; and throughappreciation we experience God’s blessings. Give the Lord your all to multiply.Discrimination and denomination is not a part, and does not count in God’s relationship to thenations.

The Living Waters

Christ is the living water made available without charge. To drink of the living water is torest in the word of God without compromise, prejudice and without fear. The word of God isthe water of life. God expects us to quench all our thirst in His word – the living water. “…whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst…” (verse 14) Wecarry God’s presence in us and will see His reality when we dwell in Him.

Purge Constantly

“Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. Foreven Christ or Passover is sacrificed for us.”

To purge ourselves is to look intently into our dealings, character, and clean out the dirt inour lives. God expects us to purge ourselves constantly with His word; in this way the light ofGod shines in and through us to affect others positively to His glory.

Looking Unto Jesus

The Lord wants us to consider Christ and His character; particularly as it relates to handlinglife issues. Christ humbled himself, and was well focus in His purpose for the kingdom. Heendured the cross, despised the shame and eventually obtained a more excellent office thanall. Our focus should be Christ and Christ alone. Lift up your head and look to Christ andChrist alone. To live victoriously and triumphantly over the sinful nature; we must makeChrist and the cross of Christ the object of our faith.

Scripture: “Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostleand High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus.” Hebrews 3:1

Christ our Mediator

“And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.”

Hebrews 12:24

We are brought into the Christian faith by faith in the precious blood of Jesus Christ; andare made alive through our continuous faith in His finished work of redemption. Christ is ouradvocate. The ministry Christ is occupying at the moment is eternally ordained for Him, byHim and through Him for our glorification. Christ is our mediator.

In my times of weakness He stands between me and God, in times of struggles He stand withme. In times of short comings, He mediates for me in God’s throne. ‘I am blessed!

Scripture: “But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is themediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises” Hebrews 9:6

God’s Chastening

“If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?”

Many times God polishes us through chastisement; and in the time of our chastening we cando two things: (1) Complain, (2) Endure. Complaining we can never experience His glory.Enduring we allow Him to make the best out of us; and at the end we shall shine forth as puregold. “…it yeildeth the peacable fruit of righteousness…” (verse 11). God disciplines thoseHe loves. When we allow God to prune us; and to trim us as the lamp wig we shine brighterand brighten to a perfect day.

DAY 47

Forgiven

“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God forChrist’s sake hath forgiven you.”

As believers in Christ we are to live in the newness of Christ; and take things easy withothers just as God through Christ redeemed us. We have been forgiven and we should forgiveothers when they hurt us. It may look difficult, but through God’s grace release them as wealso were released.. Forgiveness is one of God’s characteristics and should be part of us.

Scripture: “And forgive us or sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. Andlead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.” Luke 11:4

Control Your Temper

“Be angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath” Ephesians 4:26

It is a challenge to us as believers in Christ to manifest the characteristics of the Holy Spirit,of which self control plays a major role. Self-control is the ability to hold on withoutretaliating, judgmental and at the same time not compromising with the hidden works ofdarkness. “Be angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give placeto the devil.” (verse 26, 27). Let’s allow the Holy Spirit take control of our lives.

Scripture: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness,faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22, 23

True Change

“And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness”

We have been changed through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. The past is gone; anew life began at the cross; and can only be sustain through our continuous reliance on theredemptive work of Christ. Our life should reflect that touch of God. “Let him that stole stealno more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that hemay have to give to him that needeth.” (verse 28) “…put on the new man…” (verse 24). Thelife of a true changed believer is ordered in line with God’s word. ‘Lord, keep on changingme to reflect you before men daily in Jesus Christ precious name, Amen.’

Speak the Right Word

In this Christian race your tongue matters a lot; because it can set the whole body on fire andcan as well redeem the whole body. Words are powerful and are spirit; therefore you mustspeak God’s word only. Negative influence may want you to speak negatively outside God’sword, but you must “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but thatwhich is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers” (verse29)

Avoid Fornication

The sin of fornication is against the body; the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit andshould not be unclean. “But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not beonce named among you, as becometh saints” (verse 3). A believer in Christ is not a hypocritewho says one thing and does another; believes one thing and does another. Believers walk inthe light of God’s word without compromising, and living in sin. Without marriage sleepingwith the opposite or same sex is against God, Christ and grieves the Holy Spirit.

Don’t Be Deceived.

Deception is everywhere; and we must guard our hearts and the entrance of our mindsagainst deceit and falsehood, even among those who professes Christ but are liars; and are notof God. “Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh thewrath of God upon the children of disobedience.” (verse 6). We are called out of darkness andcan not live any longer in dark places. “Have no fellowship with the unfruitful work ofdarkness” (verse 11)

Awake!

Praise God! The light of God is still shining and you are invited to be partakers of the truelight which enlighten everyman out of darkness – Jesus Christ the light of life. Awake fromslumber-ness, laziness, and depression; and fear. Put on the garment of light now bymediating on God’s word and allowing the Holy Spirit guide you into all truth. You are therighteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Grace is unmerited! Exchange your all at the cross ofChrist. Though you may have not live up to God’s standard, but you can still take advantageof God’s glorious provision by tapping into His grace, and choose to live in the newness oflife. Arise and shine! (Isaiah 60:1)

Redeem The Time!

The days are evil and God wants us to spend it wisely by investing it, rather thanpassing through it or letting it go. Let your life count to God’s glory. We are living in the lastdays, people are living at the edge of times and Christ is coming back for a glorious churchwithout spot. How prepared are you?

Be Strong in the Lord.

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might” Ephesians 6:10

Put you confidence in the Lord. Your confidence in the Lord calls for your total commitmentand wiliness to obey Him at all times. To be strong in the Lord is to stand firmly on His wordand purpose of His calling, without weaving or turning to the right or the left. God wants youto walk with Him without shaking or compromising His word; either because of pleasant orunpleasant circumstances or whatever else. “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewithChrist hath made us free, and be not entangle again with the yoke of bondage.” (Galatians5:1)

Christ is the truth! Truth, the truth of God’s word is a mighty weapon against ignorance anddoubt and the lies of the enemy. We are admonished to put on truth as a weapon; when wecontinuously receive and use the truth of God’s word we know equals putting our weapons towork. Jesus Christ is the very truth, He is God’s word. Through Jesus Christ we overcome theforces of darkness and experience God’s glory. Amen. ‘Let the word of God dwell in yourichly!

Put on the Breast Plate of Righteousness.

Righteousness is a great weapon to fight against sin and the hidden works of darkness. Rightstanding with God keeps the devil off. When we live in sin we are exposed to the devil’sattack, but when we live in line with God’s word we attract God’s blessings and experienceHis power. Righteousness defends us against the accusations and falsehood of the enemy. Ourrighteousness should be based on the finish work of Christ at the cross.

Shod Your Feet.

The preaching of the cross at all times is an active weapon against the adversary. It protectsyour path and your feet from falling. Make it your duty daily to share your testimonies, andChristian experience with those around you. Be a gospel witness. You are guided in the rightdirection as you walk, act, talk and live in accordance with God’s word constantly. “Thy wordis a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path” (Psalm 119:105)

Take The Shield of Faith.

Faith is our God-given weapon against the negative influences in our lives. It is a weaponagainst the doubts, fears and the cares of life. God expects you to constantly live in Hisconfidence and in the light of His promises. Faith is to believe God’s word without doubting.“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” (Hebrews11:1) Walking with God is faith.

Take the Helmet of Salvation.

Salvation is a free gift! You receive it to be saved; once saved you stand in a position whereyou are expected to enforce the privileges of your salvation against God’s adversary. It isyour responsibility to stand firm in the profession of your faith. Salvation brings us in unitywith God the Father; through Christ. And our obedience to His call brings us out of darkness.

Take The Sword of the Spirit!

There are spiritual weapons God has made available to you as a believer in Christ! You areexpected to wear or put on these weapons in order to fight the good fight of faith and obtainunspeakable victories. You must ceaselessly use these weapons, which Christ made availableto you to enforce your enemy’s defeat; and establish your victory in Christ to God’s glory.The sword of the Spirit is the truth of God’s word we know; and any time we are using it weare cutting the enemies strongholds. The word of God is the sword of the Spirit; and it is withthis weapon we fight negative forces such as doubt, fear, sin, and intimidation e.t.c

Pray Always.

“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto withall perseverance and supplication for all saints.”

Prayer is one of the greatest weapons against God’s adversary. We are commanded to prayalways with all prayer; this then means you could supplicate and intercede in prayer; youcould sing and praise the Lord in the Spirit. You could pray in your understanding and pray inan unknown tongue. Spending quality time with the Lord in prayer fortifies us, and places uson the right frame of mind, and establishes our victory. “Pray without ceasing”(1Thessalonians 5:17)

DAY 63

The Day of the Lord.

“For ye yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night”1 Thessalonians 5:2

You are to be prepared and completely ready for the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ! We donot know the date and time Christ will come to rapture and redeem the saints from thistroubled world. We should not speculate or argue about doctrines; one thing is sure Christ iscoming back and very soon! While we wait for the coming of the Lord we should ratherconcentrate on solidifying our relationship with the Lord, and have our lamp burning.

‘Lord let me be ready when you shall appear to take your people home’ Will you be readywhen the Lord shall come? “Therefore, let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and besober” (verse 6)

Rejoice Evermore.

“Rejoice evermore” 1 Thessalonians 5:16

Rejoice always and be stable in Christ by constantly and consistently walking in the light ofGod’s word. Joy is a natural happiness that flows out of us either as a result of what wereceived, attained or even heard. It is often difficult to rejoice in times of difficulties,particularly when we can’t see the end of the tunnel. But what Apostle Paul is telling us hereis to rejoice in all circumstances. “Rejoice evermore” (verse 16). It takes courage and faith torejoice in hard times. Pray, ask the Lord to help you to rejoice in Him and live carefully andyet without worries.

Give Thanks.

“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” 1Thessalonians 5:18

Give thanks to God and be eternally grateful for Christ sulvivic work and exercise your rightin the benefit of the cross. Thanksgiving is gratitude and expression of thankfulness. “…givethanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you” (verse 18), this mightseems difficult when we really have nothing to be thankful for. It is therefore, a deliberateeffort to give thanks to God “…for this is the will of God…’ (verse 18b). When we givethanks we open the door for God to act and bless us even in difficult circumstances. ThePsalmist said: “I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.”(Psalm 34:1)

Quench not the Spirit.

“Quench not the Spirit” 1Thesssalonia 5:19

These four words goes a long way, as it concerns your very existence in the Christian faith,particularly in running your spiritual race “Quench not the Spirit” (verse 19) The Holy Spiritdoes not force us to do God’s will but enables us to fulfill His purpose for our lives when wewillingly allow Him take control of our lives. We are admonished by Apostle Paul not togrieve the Holy Spirit, and never to quench the Spirit.

Prove All Things.

“Prove all things; hold fast that which is good” 1 Thessalonians 5:21

Don’t just jump, look before lapping. Mind the word and doctrine you receive; make a goodand thoroughly check with God’s word. Prove all things! You are to put all things to the testto avoid error, deceit, misconception, failure and sin. To prove all things, is weighting allthings with God’s word. It is using God’s word to judge our everyday circumstances. Inproving all things we make choices to “…hold fast that which is good” (verse 21) in otherword; reject that which is not good. Use God’s word daily against negative influences.

‘Lord! Teach me to number my days, that I may apply my heart unto wisdom’ (From: Psalms90:12)

Intercession.

“Brethren, pray for us” 1 Thessalonians 5:25

Pray for others daily, this is intercession. Interceding for the need of others is a ministry, alovely ministry in which great things are accomplished for God’s kingdom, particularly as wepray for missionaries and others in the vineyard of the Lord. Let us take it as duty to pray forchurches, nations, families, the sick and those going through difficulties.

‘Lord, make me an instrument of your will and bridge to those in need’ “…pray for us” (verse25)

Child of God.

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name”

John 1:12

You become God’s child and member of Christ body when you received Christ as thesubstitute for your sins; acknowledge Christ as the author of your life and saviour of yoursouls. It is a privilege to know Christ and make Him known. This privilege is the power wereceive through faith in His name.

‘I am a child of God not by works but grace through faith in His name. “…he gave thempower to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name” (verse 12)

God’s Love.

“For god so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth inhim should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

John 3:16

The love of God to humanity demonstrates His will and purpose for us. “…not willing thatany should be perish but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9) “But Godcommandeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”(Romans 5:8). The love of God is unconditional and brings life to all who receive andembraces it. Live the God kind of life.

‘Lord, Help me walk in your love, let your love flow from me to all’ “For God so love theworld…” (verse 16)

Run the Race.

“Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us layaside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the

race that is set before us” Hebrews 12:1

There is a race set before us and we never stop running until we reach our goal in Christ.This race began at the cross of Christ and the finishing line is the cross of Christ. We arebeing watch by other faithful witness from the ground stand. “…let us lay aside every weight,and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is setbefore us” (verse 1). We are advised to lay aside every weight and the sin which seems tobeset us and to run with patience. To run with patience is to carefully and intently look untoJesus Christ the author and finisher of our faith. “…looking unto Jesus…” (verse 2)

‘Lord, Help me to fix my eyes on you’

Scripture: “Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize; Sorun, that ye may obtain.” 1st Corinthians 9:24

Great Reward.

“Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.”Hebrews 10:35

Your confidence in God’s word produces for you great recompence of reward. It projectsyou towards excellence and brings out the best in you. God rewards confidence. We areadmonished not to cast away our confidence in God. The secret of victorious living is totalreliance on Christ and the cross of Christ. In times of struggles, difficult situation and at theedge, when there seems to be no way out – confidence in God produces great reward.

‘I will hold firmly to God!’

Scripture: “If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive areward.” 1 Corinthians 3:14

By Faith Abraham.

“By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac; and he that had received thepromises offered up his only begotten son.”

Hebrews 11: 17

Looking at the father of faith Abraham, there are many things to learn from him and hisdealing with God’s promises to him. (1) Abraham believed God against all odds andimpossibility that he will have a son at his old age. (2) Abraham left his comfort zone whenhe received God’s word to go where He will show him.

‘May I become like Abraham who by faith obtained the promise.’

Scripture: “Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of manynations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.” Romans 4:18

Abraham believed God against all odds and impossibility that he will have a son at his oldage.

By Faith Noah.

“By faith Noah, being warned of god of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared anark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the

righteousness which is by faith.” Hebrews 11:7

How often we give up so quickly when we do not see results on time; but not Noah. Forabout 120 years waited on God’s promises and work along side those promises. By faith Godwill do what He says He will do.

‘May we hold on to God’s promises and work on with the great commission, believing thatHe will surely come through as He has promised!’

Scripture: “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount upwith wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”Isaiah 40:31

By Faith Sojourned.

“By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling intabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise.”

Hebrews 11:9

How often we run from God’s work and mission field. But not Abraham and other heroes offaith, who sojourned in foreign lands waiting for God’s promises to be fulfill. When we arecalled, let us obey. When sent, go. When commission, let’s fulfill our responsibilities. Staywhere God placed you and do what is required of you.

‘Help me Lord! Send me Lord!

Scripture: “Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whetherprophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; Or ministry, let us wait on ourministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching.” Romans 12:6, 7

Name Above all Names.

“Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above everyname: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in

earth, and things under earth” Philippians 2:9, 10

We are privileged to be joint heir with the head of all principalities and powers – JesusChrist. Christ sacrificial death and glorious resurrection brought about our reconciliation withGod and redemption from condemnation. Christ total obedience to God – the Father infulfilling our redemption plan; He got the Name above ALL names in the universe. We areprivileged to call on the name of Jesus Christ. Privileged to use His name against the forcesof darkness; Jesus Christ name above all!

Scripture: “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heavengiven among men, whereby we must be saved.” Acts 4:12

Don’t Complain.

“For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Do all things without murmurings and disputings.”

Philippians 2:13, 14

Looking at the various circumstances and challenges that surrounding us daily; particularlyour very own struggles there seems to be reason to complain. And often times we look forsomebody to blame. And some of us even points finger to the heavenly, but here Apostle Pauladmonished us to “…do all things without murmuring and disputings” (verse14.) God useseverything He chooses to work for our own good. Come Lord Jesus! Come.

God will Supply.

“But my god shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”Philippians 4:19

God’s ability to supply our needs is unlimited but desires us to trust in that ability so as tosee His divine provision. It is therefore important to constantly affirm God’s providenceability. Speak God’s possibility, believe in God’s possibilities and live in the light of Hisword. “…but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests bemade known unto God.” (verse 6)

Guide Your Thoughts.

Philippians 4:8

Guiding our thoughts is our God-given responsibility; not because of its health giving powerbut also because of its biblical positive results. When you constantly renew your mind withGod’s word you are able to live the Zoe – The God kind of life. God’s word produces power.“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” (Proverbs 4:23) Controlyour mind with God’s thoughts – God’s word.

The truth of God’s word sets us free from ignorance, foolishness, failures, errors andnegative influences. It is important to reflect constantly on our daily dealings with people anddefine our motives behind all purpose; as this will put us on the offensive side rather than onthe defensive side without knowledge. “Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.”John 17:17.

Think on Honest Things.

“…whatsoever things are honest…think on these things” Philippians 4:8

An honest dealing with our selves and with others is vital in our call to live gracefully. Godexpects us to walk without blame among men, and to live in the light of His plan and purposefor our lives. “That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may havelack of nothing.” 1 Thessalonians 4:12. Honest dealing is worth thinking about.

Think on Pure Things.

“…whatsoever things are lovely…think on these things” Philippians 4:8

Purity is of the Lord; and He desires you to be pure. Pure in heart, mind, soul and body;when your heart is pure your action flows out of a pure motive. “Unto the pure all things arepure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind andconscience is defiled.” Titus 1:15.

‘Lord, help me to set my affection right and walk like you walked on the surface of earthamong men’

Think on Lovely Things.

“…whatsoever things are lovely…think on these things” Philippians 4:8

Lovely things are of the Lord; and desire the best for you. The good things of life are God’swill for you. The Lord does not hate the lovely things. It is not sin to be rich and enjoy thegood things of life. Prosperity of His saints is His delight. “…Let the Lord be magnified,which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.” (Psalms 35:27) Think on lovely things!

Guiding our minds against negative thoughts is the beginning of excellence in life, andministry. To excel in life you must think on good things – Good report. God’s word is thereport, the truth, the honest, the pure and lovely things that we must ponder on constantly.The word renews our minds and places us on the right frame of mind to excel in our God-given ministry, life and family. “And be renewed in the spirit of your mind” Ephesians 4:23

Scripture: “I beseech ye therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present yourbodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”Romans 12:1

Cleanse Yourself.

“Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved let us cleanse ourselves from all filthinessof the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.”

2 Corinthians 7:1

Regular check up is important in our Christian race. We are to check and reflect on ourrelationship with the Lord. The cleanness of our whole being is vital to the Lord, and theproclamation of His word. Be open to the Lord. “And the very God of peace sanctify youwholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto thecoming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Thessalonians 5:23

Scripture: “But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner ofconversation; Because it is written, be ye holy, for I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:15, 16

Walk with God.

“By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation

he had this testimony that he pleased God.’ Hebrews 11:5

Enoch walked with God means he pleased God in all his ways. He experience divinetranslation into the heavenly as a result of his commitment and obedience to the Lord. Wemust learn to walk with God by taking one day at a time, one step after another in obedienceto His will. Just as Enoch was taken away by God, in the same way believers in Christ will berapture at Christ coming. Be ready for the coming of the Lord by walking with God in thelight of His word.

‘Oh! Lord, help me to walk with you in the light of your word’

Scripture: “He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.’1 John 2:6

We must learn to walk with God by taking one day at a time.

DAY 87



Speak the Word.

“For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed,and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saint shall come

to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith” Mark 11:23

Rather than complain, pray! Rather than confusion, stay in God’s word. Our Lord JesusChrist gave us the authority to speak to our situations by faith through His word. Speakingthe word of God is addressing our situations with God’s word. Speaking the word of God iswalking in the light of God’s word, it is allowing God’s word detects and takes first place inevery situation. Prayer is a weapon for the Christian believer, and using our God-givenauthority in His name.

‘Lord, help me speak your word at all times.”

Scripture: “For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not beable to gainsay nor resist.” Luke 21:15

Go Ye!

“And he said unto them, Go ye into al the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”Mark 16:15

We are sent to proclaim Christ to the ends of the earth. The proclamation of the message ofthe cross begins with our character, and from our homes and then to those around us andthose afar off. “…Go ye…” (verse 16) is a command and a commission of all Christianbeliever. We must make it a deliberate duty to talk to somebody about Christ each day. Shareyour Christian faith and experience with your friends, family, colleagues and those aroundyou. Be a Christian – Christ like.

Scripture: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God untosalvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” Romans 1:16

Strive to Enter.

“Strive to enter in at the strait gate; for many, I say unto you will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.”

Luke 13:24

We need perseverance, endurance and total consecration to enter God’s kingdom. We mayhave been called and have accepted Christ as our Lord, but we still need to strive against theevil forces and sin that seems to block us from seeing God’s purpose and plan for our lives.

‘Lord, help me to enter your kingdom and fulfill my purpose in you. Amen”

Scripture: “Enter ye at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadethto destruction, and many there be which go in thereat” Matthew 7:13

Be Yourself.

“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they mighthave life, and that they might have it more abundantly”

John 10:10

Christ came to bring you alive unto Himself. Apostle Paul was once called Saul and receivedtransformation into missionary work of all times. You cannot really be yourself if you areonly half alive; nobody is fully alive until they have felt the quickening touch of the risenChrist. We need to be ourselves by making Christ and the cross of Christ the very object ofour faith; by this we become Christ conscious in all our dealings. “That I may know him, andthe power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformableunto his death” (Philippians 3:10)

Scripture: “Examine yourselves, whether ye be I the faith; prove your own selves. Know yenot your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?” 2 nd

We need to be ourselves by making Christ and the cross of Christ the very object of our faith.

If it were not so.

“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s houseare many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.”

John 14:1, 2

Of all the promises of our Lord Jesus Christ on the subject of eternal life, this very promiseseems to carry the warmest and deepest sense of personal assurance. “In my Father’s houseare many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you…” (verse 2) Praise God! If Hesays so, then it’s true. Heaven has many mansions, big rambling roomy kind of place wherethere will be plenty of accommodation for everyone.

‘Lord, prepare me for yourself’

Scripture: “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice ofthe archangel, and with the trump of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then wewhich are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet theLord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.” 1 Thessalonians 4:16, 17

Seeing with Your Heart.

“And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drewnear, and went with them. But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.”

Luke 24: 15, 16

These were the two weary men trudging along the dusty road from Jerusalem to Emmaus,but could not see with the eyes of their hearts. God expects us to be sensitive to all that isaround us. The stranger expounded the scriptures to them and their eyes were opened torecognise Him as Jesus Christ. The Lord should not be a stranger to us, let’s however offerHim the hospitality that we may recognize Him as Lord of our lives. Your constantlyfellowship with God in obedience to His word and, prayer and gospel witnessing enlightensthe eyes of your understanding.

Walk in the Spirit.

“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus,who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit”

As believers in Christ we are to live and walk by the Spirit through total obedience to God’sword. This we do on a daily basis; and through grace and faith we overcome the deeds of theflesh, and please God. We are enabled by the Holy Spirit as we allow Him to lead us, guideus into God’s will and comfort us each day; particularly in our times of temptation, trails anddifficulties. “…but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.”Walk in the Spirit by living in the light of God’s word.

Scripture: For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” Romans8:14

We are enabled by the Holy Spirit as we allow Him to lead us, guide us into God’s will andcomfort us each day.

Fourth Month



DAY 94

Turning Point

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

2nd Corinthians 5:17

There was a dramatic turning point when we received the message of hope and invitedChrist into our lives; at that point our changes began. But our colour, age or name did notchange, rather something most important changed in us - our spirit was regenerated. We stillhave the responsibility to keep ourselves alive through a deeper reflection on the time wechanged sides. You must renew your mind daily by mediating continuously in God’s word.

The Cross in Miniature.

Every affliction can be the cross in miniature. Whatever we have to bear, it is notcomparable with the mental and bodily suffering of our Lord. When I am using my gift at their highest level of expression I am what my makerintended me to do when he bestowed them upon me.

Sarah Laughed.

When God told Sarah that she and Abraham were to have a son in their old age, shelaughed. It was a physical impossibility. The idea was unthinkable, preposterous. The miraclebirth of Isaac took place at the appointed time. Sarah and Abraham had been chosen to be thevehicle of Divine purpose. How often we are tempted to laugh when we hear God’s voice. Weshould not set limit upon omnipotence and think that there are things which are too hard forthe Lord.

Gratitude.

Once you have gotten yourself into a thankful frame of mind you will be surprised howmany nice things happened to you in the course of the day. In remembering your blessingsyou remember your friends. An awareness of your indebtedness to God will quicken yourawareness of indebtedness to those with whom you work and live. ‘Lord, help me to bethankful so as to avoid unrest and worries that seems to characterize me daily’

The Good Life.

What is the good life, and how does one start to live it? The good life is the God life. Whenour minds become so steeped in His word everything else takes colour from it. The humanmind does not automatically reject the bad and accept the good. It has to be trained in God’slaw. It is at the cross of Calvary we generate divine strength against the sinful nature.

‘Lord, help me to thoroughly familiarize myself with your word, that I may have solidwisdom to tie up my wondering thoughts and thereby through your word have the good life’.

Transformation.

“And be not conformed to this world; but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind,that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God”

Psychologists have been telling us that mental states affect physical conditions but this is nonew theory. Apostle Paul knew its importance and transforming power of new ideas. If youfeel that life is too much for you, change your mental attitude to it. Your subconscious mindwill resist negative influences when trained in the word.

A Day At A Time.

“Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the thingsof itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof”

To continue with this problem of worry; every time you find yourself worrying about thefuture you must pull your thoughts back to the present moment with a sharp jerk. Build a wallround today and never try to jump it. This takes determination and effort to take one step at atime. Do not wear yourself out with futile fear about the future. God’s plan and purpose foryou is good and not of evil to give you a precious destiny. (Jeremiah 29:11)

Wrestling in the Dark.

We cannot destroy evil by ignoring it but must twist it into the shape of what is good. Thiswe must prayerfully do, and learn to wrench something creative out of the heart of everyexperience like Jacob. There is no evil from which a blessing cannot be wrested. Some littlebit of good for oneself or someone else can always be squeezed out of every experience.

His Abiding Place.

Christ invitation to all of us is “Abide in me”; “Abide with us” was the invitation of the menfrom Emmaus to Christ. For some the road of life is short, for others it is long, whatever,safety is in Christ. Fulfillment is in Christ. When He abide in us we are safe, when we abidein Him we are safe. “Abide with us; for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And hewent in to tarry with them” (Luke 24:29)

Which Way?

Some times we stumble through life like a blind man on a strange path. Sometimes wefollow every impulse that blows upon our will as a result of lack of sense of direction, lack oftrue guiding principles through which we can judge the weather. The good news is that Godhas made His lovely and lively and powerful word available to us. But it takes ourresponsibility to get that sense of direction. It comes through the word and through God’sword only.

The Gift of Life.

We do not earn life as we earn our wages. Life is a gift, and it is freely given. There are nostrings to it, no restricting conditions. You can fling it away if you wish, but in spit of the factthat so many people talk loosely about life, saying they are fed up with it or that it’s not worthliving, they cling to it with a remarkable tenacity. Appreciate the gift of life; use it wisely byinvesting it in every little place where it counts.

God’s Protection.

Fear is the weapon used of the enemy to weaken our God-given ability to win life battles.God is always here with us and the moment we realize His presence with us the more we arecourageous to fight without fear. God will always reward our enemies and bring us out with amighty hand of victory.

He Paid it All.

Christ paid the supreme sacrifices of our total redemption and we are to appreciate hissulvivic work. When we embrace all that God has done for us through Christ, then we areable to live it out for His glory. All that seems to be curses, sin and negative systems, whichthe devil uses against us daily has been abolished.

The Lord is My Shepherd.

There is something about this glorious psalm that exercises a soothing and beneficialinfluence upon mind and body. It shows the supreme expression of soul at peace with theLord and man. When we say “The Lord is my Shepherd” we do more than assert a religioustruth in poetic form. It is personalizing and affirming the truth that opens us up to the idea ofbeing loved, led and protected. “…I shall not want” (verse1)

Set Your Affection on Above.

“Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God”

We are admonished by the great Apostle Paul to set our priority right, have a clear focus,walk in the light of our dreams and do those things that matters to the kingdom for which weare called into and called to serve. “Above” is our focus point “Affection” is our desire andresponsibility that must be set above. “Dead” we are no more living for ourselves but for theLord.

Scripture: “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me:and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me,and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20

The Reward.

“Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ”

There is a great reward for a faithful service we rendered whole heartedly as unto the Lordand not eye-service. The blessings that accompany true services in the vineyard of the Lordcannot be over emphases nor underestimated. Service is rewarding. Whatever we do has areward whether good or evil. God watches us daily and all our deeds are recorded and weshall receive whatever we sow either to the flesh or to the spirit unto life.

Be Merciful.

God shows us mercies and desires that we also follow His stead, showing mercy to thosearound us, particularly those who offended us. The word of God should become our guideand map for daily dealing with people.

Better Country Farther On.

“He it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed”

Do not let present difficulties rob you of your faith in the future. Unless you possesssomething of this kind of spirit you will never get anywhere in life. Never think of failure orcalamity as permanent. Never accept the ruling of circumstances as final and irrevocable. Nomatter how the path seems to be blocked or how dark the prospects, affirm your faith thatthere is better country farther on.

Scripture: “But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is notashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.” Hebrews 11:16

Dangerous Business.

“Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day”

When a soldier is maimed, blinded or shell-shocked on the battled field he does not think ofhimself as victimized by God. He knows that what has happened to him has happenedbecause he was a participant in a conflict. No matter how well armed you may be you arecertain to be hit somewhere for we all have our vulnerable spots, moral, physical andintellectual, but there is no need to be ashamed of your scars if you know that you havefought a good fight.

Attend Your Funeral.

You have been initiated into the greatest mystery in the world. You have been born again,quickened into a new kind of life with new power, actual and potential. It is an experiencepeculiar to Christians, something that has been happening to men and women all over theworld for over two thousand years, the inexplicable phenomenon which we call conversion.

Scripture: “Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin mightbe destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin.”Romans 6:6, 7

God Willing.

It is a good thing to dream big dreams for the future, but do not brag of your intentions.Realize them first, talk about them afterwards. Qualify every proposal with a “God willing”.This is not a superstitious insurance against disaster, like touching wood or throwing salt overyour shoulder, but recognition of supernatural forces at work in us.

Turn it into Opportunities.

Do not impede your chances of recovery by giving way to negative influence; likebitterness; which is a poison and prevents God’s blessings and the forces of healing fromgetting through to us. We must submit ourselves to God’s word, Arise; put ourselves in theright attitude to receive the inflow of His health-giving and regenerative love and blessings.

Scripture: “Do all things without murmuring and disputings: That ye may be blameless andharmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation,among whom ye shine as lights in the world.” Philippians 2:14, 15

Avoid Self-Pity.

“A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones” Proverbs 17:22

One of the most insidious and dangerous of the mental vices is self-pity. It is an expensiveluxury that nobody can afford, for it is ruinous to health and looks. Be on your guard againstit by cultivating the sort of thoughts that produce a merry-hearted outlook on life. This is thebest kind of medicine in the world. Be happy and rejoice in the Lord always.

Scripture: “Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice. Let your moderation beknown unto all men. The Lord is at hand.” Philippians 4:4, 5

The Fruit of the Spirit.

God expects us to overflow with the fruit of the Holy Spirit daily, particularly as it concernsour everyday circumstances. It is a deliberate effort and a willing obedience to walk in theopposite spirit that overcomes the negative influences and intentions of the enemy of ourfaith.

Follow Peace with all men.

“Follow peace with all men and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord” Hebrews 12:14

God expects us to walk with His word in dealing with those around us. He wants us toexhibits His very character and change others by the way we handle issues and live amongmen. As believers in Christ we are constantly in a spiritual warfare; this is because we haveembraced the cross of Christ, where the true light shines. We are now in the kingdom of lightand are to constantly fight against darkness and every negative thing that seems to comeagainst our faith in Christ. You must shine forth as light to all men.

Scripture: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, andglorify your Father which is in heaven” Matthew 5:16

Life in the Spirit.

“For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.”

As Christian believers in Christ, we have been translated into the kingdom of God and haveinherited the nature of Christ through a total submission and obedience to the truth andblessings of the Cross of Christ. We are to consistently live in the light of God’s word inthoughts, words and deeds. This is life in the Spirit, overcoming the deeds of the sinfulnature. Address every situation and circumstances with God’s living word.

Heaven

“And the city had no need of sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God didlighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

Our hope as believers in Christ Jesus is far beyond this present age and world. We are calledto inherit God’s kingdom, and heaven will be our eternal home. Heaven is a beautify placeprepared for those who are saved and washed by the blood of the lamb of God Jesus Christ.There will be no night, pain, sorrow, sickness or anything that is unclean in heaven. Onlythose washed by the blood of Jesus Christ have, and will have access into Heaven. We willmeet in heaven, try to make it there!

Hell

“And in hell he lifted his eyes being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom”

Our Lord Jesus Christ gave a clear illustration of hell in the parable of the rich man andLazarus. Hell is a place of torment and eternal punishment. Those who die without Christ goto hell, those who receive Jesus Christ as Lord and savour goes to heaven. It is neither for therich or the poor but prepared for Satan and those who reject the gift of God – Jesus Christ asLord and saviour. There is no exit in hell.

Grace in Jesus Christ.

“Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.” Ephesians 6:24

May the Lord richly bless you in your walk with Him. The eyes of the Lord is always uponyou; and great heroes of faith are watching you and applauding on your every victory oversin, temptations, and the trials of your faith. Face whatever circumstance that comes againstyour faith with God’s word. Remain faithful to the Lord who called you out of darkness intoHis marvelous light.

By grace we become saved through faith in Christ Jesus, and we are preserved by gracethrough faith. We are not saved by our religious works but by grace through faith; faithwithout work is dead. It your faith produce righteous deeds; “I do not frustrate the grace ofGod: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain” (Galatians 2:21) Graceis God’s unmerited favour received by faith in the finished work of Christ. Therefore, whenwe lean on God’s grace our faith produces the works of God as becoming saints. Embrace thecross of Christ where true victory is found.
