Since 2000, world-renowned fiddler and step dancer April Verch has been touring the world, captivating listeners with her breathtaking musical skills and showmanship. The April Verch Anthology celebrates one of the most

talented fiddlers of her generation as she journeys through her 1998-2015 releases. Featuring an enchanting mix of regional Canadian, American old-time, bluegrass, country and Americana tracks, this compilation includes

tunes and songs dear to April as well as a healthy dose of fan favorites and two newly recorded tracks!

Produced by April Verch & John Smith

In 2015 I released the tenth recording of my career and when people said that it was a “milestone” I knew that they were right. It wasn’t until I began putting this collection together,

however, that I realized exactly what that meant. In deciding what to include in this anthology, I listened to the tracks from my previous releases and heard the moments I’ve lived. I felt at once a sense of accomplishment and immense gratitude. When I listen to this compilation I see the

chapters of my life and career thus far; the challenges, growth and joy. I remember the incredible band members, musicians, producers and team members who were there at each juncture.

I reminisce about the places we’ve toured and the fine folks we’ve met as a result. I treasure the composers and musicians that contributed to my musical explorations. I am

extremely grateful to my family and dear ones for supporting me without fail. This isn’t simply a “best of” recording. To me, these tracks represent snapshots of my life, past and present, and

together they make a mosaic of glimpses into the full picture of who I am. Through this anthology, I am reminded of the inspirations with which I began and of the hopes I hold for the

future. I take a moment to reflect and to celebrate. I am honored to do what I do. Thank you for listening. And cheers to the dreamers!
