MY

PASSION

I didn’t ever want to swim, but to avoid my Grandma’s incessant nagging, I decided to give it a try. From that moment that I entered the pool for the first time, there was no thought about quitting. I started swimming competitively the summer before my freshman year and I continued to swim year round throughout high school. I swam in the fall for the high school and then for park districts in the Winter and Summer. I never left the pool my senior year as Spring was taken up by Water Polo. The first two years of High school, I was at a disadvantage to other swimmers since I started so late in life compared to everyone else, but by Junior year I proved that I had the ability to do well and made the Varsity Team. Senior year, I became captain. Once I start something, I give it my all for as long as it is apart of my life. I hung up my swim suit before attending Eastern, however, the smell of chlorine brings me back to swim a few relaxing laps occasionally
