My Heroes

Vol. 24 No 4 May 2020

The definition of hero is a person who is

admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. These are just a couple of my heroes at Fort Henry Dr., Kingsport, TN. As we all know life at KFC has been flipped upside down and is anything, but what we know as normal. This team though 💕💕. They have come in every day with smiles on their faces and have taken on every challenge like the super heroes they are. A police officer told me the other day, that we are the heroes now.

At the time I don’t think I agreed with his statement. After thinking about his words and watching my team day after day, I realized they are my heroes. They are the text book definition of hero. Each and every one of them bring their own qualities to the table. Some bring speed, some bring smiles, some bring passion, some bring laughter. They all bring strength and heart, and that is what makes us Fort Henry strong. Just wanted to say thank you to our team, for hanging with us through the changes, and for being my heroes. All of you are the reason I love my job so much!!! Shannan Kelly, AUM Ft. Henry Dr., Kingsport, TN

What an absolutely amazing Mother’s Day 2020! Your hard work and dedication to your business was on full display this past Mother’s Day. As we continue to operate in the current Drive Thru only platform, it is obvious your commitment to great customer service and product excellence is noticed and appreciated by our customer. You continue to astound everyone!

Despite operating our restaurants without the benefit of dine in, carryout and 100 buffets that does not seem to be slowing our current trajectory of positive results. Let us take a look at This Year vs Last Year Mother’s Day numbers:

• Sales in 2020 exceeded $1,000,000 in a single day for the first time since 2012. Keep in mind JRN was operating approximately 200 restaurants in 2012.

• Mother’s Day 2019 Sales: $911,069; Mother’s Day Sales 2020 $1,031,962

• All Store sales increase of 13.2% (includes the addition of Henderson, KY and Owensboro, KY)

• Check Average increased from $16.70 to $20.20 (21%)

• Interesting Stats: 23 stores better than $8k 8 stores better than $9k 8 stores better than $10k 5 stores better than $11k 1 stores better than $12k • All Store sales increase of 13.2% (includes

$500,000 worth of groceries will be provided for KFC Team members by the franchisees and the KFC Foundation.

“We are so proud of our KFC franchisees that have been working to support and celebrate their individual teams through bonuses, hourly pay increases, meals for their employees and their families, pay continuation for employees impacted by COVID-19, and a variety of other financial incentives.”

We’ve submitted a Team Member from every store to have a chance to win a gift card. Terry Jennings, JRN Territorial Director

Additionally KFC has provided 1.2 million pounds of food already this year to help make up for the greatly increased demand at food banks around America.

Heroes: continued from page 1

Last Year 154 Stores Open (PRA $5,920); This Year 159 Stores Open (PRA $6,490) or up $570 which is a 9.7% increase in PRA.

The KFC System enjoyed a Mother’s Day PRA of $5,200. JRN, at $6,490, is 24.8% higher than the system average!

Team DLR was an astonishing $80.83; Total DLR was an astounding $67.17

Speed of Service this Mother’s Day: 170.9 seconds, 10.3 seconds faster than last year

On Mother’s Day alone, JRN did $71,245 in Internet Sales (GrubHub, UberEats and KFC.com) with some of that in the newly introduced Curbside Sales. With the exception of a few Restaurants, JRN has been doing Curbside for about 2 days prior to Mother’s Day. However, you still managed to add materially to our top line in Curbside Sales! For the finale:

Assuming a 2% OMC, JRN’s MMCI for Mother’s Day would be a whopping 59.6%

It is without question Team JRN and YOU stand tall and unchallenged in the center of the Winner’s Circle. You are the best, you are brightest and YOU make the Colonel, along with everyone else, PROUD! You are the Champions, and We Are JRN! Brett A. Neal, Chief Operating Officer, JRN, Inc.

Robert Musser, Area Coach When people ask, “What does ‘JRN’ stand for?” my

reply is simple. JRN stands for HEART,.GIVING. KINDNESS. PRIDE. COMMUNITY. FAMILY. ❤

Yesterday (4/9), our HARDING PLACE and BELL RD teams showed their appreciation🙏🙏 for the sacrifice and courage of our local nurses and ER professionals👩👩⚕ @ St. Thomas Hospital-Midtown in downtown Nashville, TN. What better way to show our “distant” 👋👋—👋👋 but unwavering support than to ensure that our health care heroes ♀ have a warm meal... with the perfect comfort food 🍗🍗 to allow them a physical and mental BREAK from the COVID CRISIS. We wanted to let them know that they are not alone in their fight and NEVER far from our thoughts and prayers 🙏🙏.

SHOWING UP 💪💪 for our community in a time of need is something at the very CORE of our JRN identity. I am so proud to be a part of our mission, standing with our

Near and dear to my heart, the incredible ICU and REHAB and NEUROLOGY Teams at St. Thomas Hospital-Midtown They LITERALLY saved my life last year as I battled my personal illness. And NOW... NOW they are tasked with protecting all of Nashville, ALL OF US. And they overcome their OWN fears to take on this Herculean task! So, THANK YOU, ST.
