It’s the backdrop for plenty of awe-inspiring moments – they’re all here, spread across six time zones. One of the world’s most visited natural attractions, the thundering Niagara Falls, will take your breath away. But it’s by no means Canada’s only scenic gem. From the stunning Great Lakes of Ontario and abundance of national parks, to the colossal Athabasca Glacier and, of course, the unforgettable Rocky Mountains - natural beauty is everywhere.

Much of Canada’s unspoiled terrain is inhabited by a wealth of wildlife from bears to birds, killer whales to caribou. With the dramatic landscapes come some big adventures. Victoria, with the country’s most comfortable climate, begins its annual flower count in early March. You can golf almost 365 days a year here. If you want to take in all of the Mountains west, from Vancouver’s coast to Calgary’s foothills, the sleek blue-and-white Rocky Mountaineer train will rocket you through five vast, unspoiled Canadian national parks. Day 1. Banff

Arrive Calgary Airport and transfer by coach to the beautiful town of Banff, gateway to the Rocky Mountains and the starting point of your adventures. Check in at your hotel and the remainder of the day is yours to explore Banff.

Day 2. Banff

A full day to explore Banff and the surrounding area. In town you’ll find lots of excitement - shopping, cafes, nightlife, museums. You may wish to check out the Cave and Basin National Historic Site, take a trip on the Sulphur Mountain Gondola Ride, or take a dip in the hot mineral pools at the Upper Hot Springs.

Day 3. Banff to Jasper

Today you will take an unforgettable trip along the Icefield Parkway, one of the world’s most scenic drives. You will visit the world famous Lake Louise, see the Athabasca Falls and the equally beautiful Peyto Lake, to name but three. Your trip also includes a ride on the Ice Explorer, which will take you on to the Columbia Icefield and the Athabasca Glacier, where you can get out and walk on the ancient ice. There is a good chance of seeing lots of wildlife, including bighorn sheep, elk and hopefully bears! Your day ends in Jasper.

Day 4. Jasper

A free day to explore Jasper, deep in the Rockies. Take time to shop and sample the local restaurants and bars. In the evening, the wildlife safari is a popular choice.

Day 5. Jasper to Kamloops

All aboard Rocky Mountaineer for a scenic rail journey to Kamloops, British Columbia. Leaving Jasper National Park, travel the Yellowhead route past the sprawling grandeur of Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies. Then follow the mighty Thompson River, the route of early fur traders, before arriving in Kamloops, where you will be transferred via motorcoach to your Kamloops accommodation. Breakfast and lunch are included today.

Day 6. Kamloops to Vancouver

Leaving Kamloops follow the Thompson River through Ashcroft, one of Canada’s driest towns, with an average rainfall of just 18 centimetres. Pass through Rainbow Canyon, named for its cliffs striped with pinks, greens and greys creating a stunning rainbow affect. Continue on to the Fraser Canyon, where at Hells Gate watch water torrent past the canyon walls at its narrowest point. The last leg of the journey takes you through the fertile farming region of the Fraser Valley to arrive in the Pacific port of Vancouver late afternoon. Breakfast and lunch are included today. Transfer independently to your downtown hotel for a night in this friendly, cosmopolitan city.

Day 7. Vancouver

Your holiday concludes today. Why not add on an Alaska cruise, a Vancouver city stay or a Vancouver Island self-drive? The choices are endless.

Day 1. Vancouver

It’s easy to see why so many are seduced by Canada’s third-largest city, the sparkling Pacific Ocean, the beautiful Gulf Islands, and the snow-capped Coast Mountains. In fact almost every street you look down in Vancouver gives greatviews of these mountains or clear blue water. There’s so many things to see and do in Vancouver. And you’ll have the first 3 days of this amazing adventure to explore this fantastic city at your leisure from the comfort of the Blue Horizon Hotel with much of the city’s shopping, restaurants and entertainment all close by.

Day 4. Vancouver - Whistler

Today you’ll pick up your hire car and drive over the Lions Gate Bridge for the two hour drive north to Whistler. Known as the ‘Sea to Sky highway’ the road is a wonderful drive, with the Gulf Islands on your left and the Coast Mountains on your right. Named after the furry marmots that populate the surrounding mountains and whistle like deflating balloons, Whistler is a pretty alpine village and one of the world’s most popular ski resorts. It’s also a great place for mountain biking, alpine hiking and a full roster of adventurous outdoor activities. In the evening the town comes alive with plenty of

bars and restaurants. You’ll be staying right in the resort centre at the all-suite Delta Whistler Village.

Day 6. Whistler - Victoria via Horseshoe Bay

Today drive south from Whistler and enjoy the sea to sky highway as you head south for the ferry from Horseshoe Bay to Victoria, with ample opportunity to see Whales and Dolphins on the ferry crossing. Vancouver Island, where Victoria is located, was recently rated the top island in Continental US and Canada and one of the top ten islands in the world by the 2012 Travel & Leisure World’s Best Awards. Victoria itself has a unique blend of old world charm and new world experiences. Visit Butchart Gardens, take a tour of the town in an open top London bus, take tea at the Empress Hotel or just relax at one of the many street side cafes. Whilst in Victoria, you’ll be staying at the Inn at Laurel Point Hotel, which sits right at the harbour with terrific views over the water.

Day 8. Victoria - Tofino / Ucluelet

Today you’ll be heading to the west coast of the Island and to a truly unique destination. Tofino and Ucluelet are two gems secluded on the West Coast of the Island. At Tofino’s doorstep is the Clayoquot

Sound region, a world UNESCO biosphere reserve. This area boasts one of British Columbia’s most prized nature reserves, Pacific Rim National Park. The area offers a huge range of outdoor activities including whale watching, coastal hiking, surfing, hot springs excursions and beach combing. It’s also a popular location for storm watching (winter months). You will be staying at the Black Rock Resort in Ucluelet. A wonderful hotel in a stunning setting, right on the cliff edge with some dramatic views.

Day 10. Tofino / Ucluelet - Campbell River

Head east to Campbell River, if you like nature and wildlife you’ll love this place. Killer whales, minke whales, sea otters, sea lions and eagles are all plentiful here. You’ll be staying at the Painters Lodge with some great views of the sea. If you have time – take the drive 1.5 hours north to the lovely little settlement of Telegraph Cove, with its pods of Killer Whales in this protected area.

Day 12. Campbell River - Parksville

Drive south to Parksville, a seaside community and the perfect place to chill for a night. In nearby Qualicum Beach there’s a quaint little pub right on the sea front with terrific views of the mainland. Enjoy lunch here and watch the sea otters play in the surf. You’ll be staying at the Tigh - Na - Mara Spa Resort, set in 22 acres of forest beside the ocean and the warmest ocean swimming in Canada.

Day 13. Parksville - Pender Island

The Gulf Islands are a well kept secret and easily accessed by ferry from Victoria and Vancouver. All have their own appeal, but many choose Pender Island for its easy accessibility, beauty and friendly atmosphere. You will be staying at the Poets Cove Resort & Spa which has a full-service spa, a marina, and an outdoor pool. All rooms are west facing with balconies to appreciate the ocean views..Day 14. Pender Island - Vancouver

Take the ferry to Tsawassen and then the drive to Vancouver for one final nights stay at theBlue Horizon Hotel in Vancouver. Take in any final sights you may have missed.

Day 1. Vancouver to Tofino (221 km/138 mi + Ferry)

Depart Vancouver for Horseshoe Bay and sail for 1 hour 45 min on BC Ferries (ferry toll included) to Vancouver Island. At Nanaimo head west to Tofinoon the rugged West Coast. En-route, picture stops should be made at Cathedral Grove to enjoy the splendour of 800 year old Douglas Fir and Cedar.Plus, the Mars Water-Bombers at Sproat Lake, the world’s two largest water-bombers used for the sole purpose of putting out forest fires. After the Mars Water-Bombers drive through the majestic Sutton Pass and the Sawtooth Range of the Cascade Mountains to arrive in Tofino around mid-afternoon.

Day 2. Tofino (Pacific Rim National Park)

You may wish to walk along the famed Long Beach, with its miles of pristine sandy beach and pounding surf, or explore the rain forests on a selection of well groomed trails. Mid-afternoon enjoy a 3 hour whale watch cruise (included) through the Clayoquot Sound, revealing sensationalscenery and wildlife such as Gray Whales, Sea Lions, Porpoises and Killer Whales. The area is also known for its variety of birds, including tuftedpuffins and resident bald eagles.

Day 3. Tofino to Victoria (313 km/195 mi)

Travel back to the East Coast of Vancouver Island and head south to Victoria. En-route stops should be made at the artist community of Chemainus,where you can admire the giant murals which adorn the exterior walls throughout the town and

Duncan the “City of Totems”. If time permitsvisit the Quw’utsun’ Heritage Village which provides you with an insight into the lives of the northwest coast people (seasonal hours - admission not included).

Day 4. Victoria Exploring (Butchart Gardens)

Today is free to explore Victoria, with its turn of the century architecture, British traditions such as high tea and shops full of woollens and china.Admission is included to the Butchart Gardens with its 50 acre display of magnificent colour. Day 5. Victoria to Vancouver (69 km/43 mi)

Leaving Victoria drive north to Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal for a 90 min Ferry ride (ferry toll included) to Tsawwassen. On board BC ferries enjoythe scenery of the Gulf Islands as you cross the Strait of Georgia. From Tsawwassen continue on to downtown Vancouver where your Flexi drive ends.

Arrive in Calgary and make your own way to your chosen Hotel for a three night stay.

Day 2.

The excitement of the stampede starts today with an afternoon of world class rodeo with Saddle Bronco and Bareback riding events followed by the most dangerous event of all — Bull Riding!

Day 3.

On the evening of Day 3, enjoy nine heart-stopping chuck wagon races as they explode in an all out dash for the finish line before the final climax that is two hours of beautifully choreographed musical variety in the grandstand show.

Day 2. Full day tour to Niagara Falls

Travel on our air-conditioned motorcoach for a breathtaking, full-day tour through the orchard-laden Niagara Peninsula to Niagara Falls, one of the great wonders of the world. Tour includes: Maid of the Mist or Journey Behind the Falls, buffet lunch overlooking Niagara Falls, free time in Niagara on the Lake. Day 3. Toronto to Montreal (Rail)

Enjoy the facilities of the Business class lounge while waiting for boarding instructions. Complimentary newspapers and non-alcoholic beverages are available in the lounge.Follow the shores of Lake Ontario, one of the five Great Lakes of North America, to Trenton Junction, where the St. Lawrence River flows fromthe lake. Passing the village of Napanee, look south as you cross the river to view a series of beautiful waterfalls. The city of Kingston is an historic Canadian city, being the early capital of the “Province of Canada” (1841-1867) and is the birthplace of Canada’s first Prime Minister, Sir John

Here, you cross the Rideau Canal, built in 1832 to connect Kingston with Ottawa and was originally designed after the War of 1812to guarantee a supply route north of the US border in the event of another war. Past Cornwall, the line enters the Province of Quebec. ApproachingMontreal, cross the Ottawa River to Dorval, before arriving at Central Station in Montreal. The station is located below the Queen Elizabeth Hotel in the heart of downtown. (Lunch is included today.) Day 4. Montreal Sightseeing

Montreal offers a number of unique attractions. From some of North America’s oldest and most spectacular architecture to professional sportsand botanical treasures. Enjoy a 3 hour tour of the city, taking in more than 200 points of interest,including a stop at the Notre Dame Basilica, residential and financial districts, Old Montreal, French Quarter, outside view of Olympic Site, McGill University and a panoramic view from an observation point on top of Mt.Royal. The balance of the day is yours to enjoy Montreal.

Day 5. Montreal to Quebec (Rail)

Enjoy the facilities of the Business Class Lounge while waiting for boarding instructions. Complimentary newspapers and non-alcoholic beverages are available in the lounge.Following the St. Lawrence River, pass from city suburbs to the rural landscapes of forests and rich pastures, dotted with tiny villages that extend toQuebec City. For the first hour, you will note the rugged Monteregian Hills that seem to loom up from nowhere. These huge volcanic mounds wereformed over 120 million years ago. There are seven of these hills in a row, including Mont Royal in Montreal, ending with Monte Rouge near the tiny village of Boloeil. Many of the trees you view are maple trees, producing the great Canadian staple, maple syrup. Your rail journey is just over two hours to Quebec, the oldest walled city in North America and heart of the French Canadian culture of Canada. Arrive into Quebec at Gare du Palais. Steeped in history, Quebec is the most charming city in Canada, four hundred years old and most of the original architecture and buildings have been lovingly preserved. (Lunch is included today.)

Day 6. Quebec City Sightseeing

Quebec City is the heart of French Canada. Nowhere else in North America is the appearance and atmosphere of an old-world city so complete.Quebec City looks and feels very European; perhaps that is why the entire old section of the town was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985. Today qualified guides will help you discover the enchanting sights which are part of Quebec City’s history. During the tour several stops are suggested. Should you wish to visit different sites, you may wish to get off and board at your convenience. This tour option offers you great flexibility.

Day 7. Bear Watching at Duchesnay Resort

Located in proximity of Quebec City, the provincial capital. The resort offers cozy lodge accommodations and many recreational activities on land and in the water, beaches, hiking trails and natural attractions. The highlight of your program will be the guided bear viewing excursion which will allow you to observe some impressive bears in their natural habitat. After arriving independently at Duchesnay Resort (approx. 30 minutes north of Quebec city) you will have the remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight: Duchesnay Resort (Lodge Room)

Day 8. Duchesnay activities and bear viewing.

Most of the day is free to relax and take advantage of the resort activities including swimming, water sports, cycling, hiking, rock climbing, archery and guided excursions (some activities involve surcharge). At 5.30 pm you will be picked up at your hotel for the transfer to the bear watching location, which is approx. 10 kms outside of the resort. You will have the opportunity to see impressive bears in their natural environment as you quietly watch. At the end of the excursion you will be transferred back to the Resort. Day 9. Quebec to Toronto (Rail)

After making your own way back to Quebec City, enjoy the facilities of the Business Class Lounge while waiting for boarding instructions. Complimentary newspapers and non-alcoholic beverages are available in the lounge.Departing Quebec from Gare du Palais, cross the mighty St. Lawrence River to the south shore, which the rail line follows for almost the entire journeyto Toronto. The landscape is dotted with tiny

villages, all with church spires, maple forests and rich pasture land. This fertile land stretchesmost of the way to Montreal. After the small city of Saint-Hyacinthe, there is a dramatic change in the landscape, as the Monteregian Hills seem toappear out of nowhere. These huge volcanic mounds were formed over 120 million years ago and there are seven of these large hills in a row,including Mont Royal in Montreal. Arriving in Montreal at Central station, change trains and board VIA Rail’s Toronto service. The change is seamless, in the same station, with a short connection wait. Departing Montreal, a brief stop is made at Dorval. From Dorval, the train route crosses the Ottawa River, a major tributary of the St. Lawrence River. In the distance to the north, you may view the Laurentian Highlands. Less than an hour out of Montreal, the train passes from the Province of Quebec into the Province of Ontario. Following the St. Lawrence, pass through the smallcities and villages, including Kingston, the first capital of the “Province of Canada” from 1841 to 1867, when the capital was moved to Ottawa when all Canadian Provinces united in Confederation to become an independentcountry. Passing through Trenton Junction, the St. Lawrence widens into Lake Ontario. The rail line follows the shore of this “Great Lake “ intoToronto, where you disembark at Union Station in downtown Toronto to end your rail journey.(Lunch included today.) Overnight in Toronto

Day 1. Halifax Arrival

Arrive in Halifax, pick up your rental vehicle and explore this true maritime city. First settled in 1749, Halifax today is Nova Scotia’s capital and the largest city in Canada’s maritime provinces.

Day 2. Halifax Sightseeing

A full day in Halifax to explore boutiques, pubs and cafes of Privateers Warehouse and Historic Properties, tour the Bluenose II (see the “tails” side of a Canadian dime for a picture of the Bluenose I). Get a terrific view of the city from the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site and visit York Redoubt National Historic Site a 200-year-old fortification overlooking Halifax Harbour.

Day 3. Halifax to Cape Breton Island (356 km/222 mi)

Depart Halifax for your journey to Cape Breton Island, a little piece of Scotland in North America. Arrive in Baddeck.

Day 4. Cabot Trail (300 km/187 mi)

Explore the fabulous Cabot Trail around Cape Breton Island for awe-inspiring views of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The route winds through Cape Breton Highlands National Park. There are 28 beautiful hiking trails in the National Park between Cheticamp and Ingonish - the most recommended would be the Skyline Trail located about 15 minutes drive from park entrance. Along the way visit the Celtic Music Interpretive Centre, Glenora Distillery, Acadian Cultural Center & Museum (Les Trois Pignons ) or St. Ann’s Gaelic College of Arts & Crafts.

Day 5. Louisbourg Sightseeing (220 km/137 mi return)

This morning drive to north to discover the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site. This incredible “living museum,” largest historical reconstruction in North America, is an impressive restoration of a French garrison town dating from the 1700’s, complete with costumed interpreters who re-enact daily life from the French colonial period. You can even sample period food in the restaurant, or take part in a mock battle. Also, don’t miss a visit to the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site in the village of Baddeck, a museum dedicated to the life and inventions of this fascinating man - who spent his summers here on the shores of the Bras d’Or. You may also want to visit the Highland Village Museum in Iona.

Day 6. Baddeck to Halifax (357 km/222 mi)

A full day for the return trip to Halifax along the scenic Bras d’Or Lakes Drive to the Canso Causeway to enter mainland Nova Scotia. At the community of Antigonish, travel southwest along Marine Drive to Halifax.

Day 4. Travel to Annapolis Royal (133 km/83 mi)

Cross the peninsula and make a stop at Kejimkujik National Park and National Historic Site, renowned for its hiking trails and incredible canoeing on wilderness lakes and rivers. Park interpretive staff conduct outings on foot to reveal the natural history of the area, including the Mi’kmaq pretoglyphs.

Day 5. Whale watching and fishing villages (206 km/128 mi return)

Today drive along 65 km along the Digby Neck to experience a whale watching excursion in the nutrient rich waters of the Bay of Fundy. Day 6. Travel to Wolfville (109 km/68 mi)

Make time to stop at the Grand-Pré National Historic Site, commemorating Grand-Pré area as a centre of Acadian settlement from 1682 to 1755 and the Deportation of the Acadians, which began in 1755 and continued until 1762. Also the Domaine de Grand Pré is a fantastic winery in the area well worth a visit. (Breakfast Included)

Day 7. Travel to Charlottetown (360 km/224 mi)

Enroute to Charlottetown take time to stop and see the Bay of Fundy a marvel of nature. You will cross the 13km long Confederation Bridge.

Day 8. Charlottetown Sightseeing

Explore Charlottetown site of Canada’s birthplace - Province House National Historic Site was the scene of meetings that led to the formation of Canada as a country in 1867.

Depart Charlottetown taking Rte 1 to Wood Islands Ferry crossing to Caribou, Nova Scotia then drive to Cape Breton Island, a little piece of Scotland in North America.

Day 11. Cabot Trail (300 km/187 mi)

Cape Breton Highlands National Park and Cabot Trail Allow a full day to drive with time to get out and hike or observe views. Visit the park visitor center (5 km). Day 3. Tracy Arm and Juneau, Alaska

Nestled between 3,000-foot high granite walls, the narrow, twisting slice of ocean called Tracy Arm

Fjord weaves through the Tongass National Forest. The shoreline is spotted with waterfalls created by melting snowcaps and trees sprouting at odd angles from rocky outcroppings. The dramatic Sawyer Glaciers at the end of Tracy Arm are framed by mountains on either side. Black and brown bears, wolves, deer, moose, seals and whales all make their home in the fjord’s icy waters. No roads lead to Juneau, squeezed between the Gastineau Channel and Coast Mountains, Juneau offers a lot of variety in close proximity. The massive Mendenhall Glacier and the immense Juneau Icefields are at its back door. The vast Tongass National Forest stretches away to the northeast. You can shop downtown or get out and kayak, dogsled, raft, hike, whale watch, flightsee or fish. Day 4. Skagway

As the gateway to the Klondike gold rush of 1898, Skagway became the largest city in Alaska by the

end of the 19th century. Booms fade, but the glory days still reverberate through the town. Ride the antique White Pass & Yukon narrow-gauge railway, step into the Red Onion Saloon or peruse the restored buildings and wooden boardwalks of the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park. Day 5. Glacier Bay

Glacier Bay National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site that protects a unique ecosystem of plants and animals living in concert with an ever-changing glacial landscape. It has more actively calving tidewater glaciers than anyplace else in the world. Watch as monumental chunks of ice split off a glacier and thunder into the sea - the impact sending water hundreds of feet into the air. Hold your breath, catch the moment on film. Then wait for it all to happen again. As it always does.

Day 3. Vancouver to Kamloops

Travel onboard the Rocky Mountaineer from the coastal city of Vancouver to Kamloops, in the heart of British Columbia’s interior. On today’s journey you will see dramatic changes in scenery, from the lush green fields of the Fraser Valley, through forests and winding river canyons surrounded by the peaks of the Coast and Cascade Mountains, to the desert-like environment of the BC Interior. Highlights include the rushing waters of Hell’s Gate in the Fraser Canyon and the steep slopes and rock sheds along the Thompson River. Day 4. Kamloops to Banff

Your journey continues eastwards to the mighty Canadian Rockies and the province of Alberta. Once again you will see a spectacular array of scenery as you travel across ranchlands, along rocky lakeshores, over high mountain passes and through the remarkable tunnels that form part of the rich rail history of the Canadian Rockies. Today’s highlights include Craigellachie, where the last spike of the Canadian Pacific Railway was driven, the climb over Rogers Pass, Kicking Horse Canyon, the Spiral Tunnels and, of course, the glaciers and snow-capped peaks of the Canadian Rockies. Your rail journey ends this evening in the resort town of Banff. Overnight in Banff. B, L.

Day 5. Banff to Lake Louise

A half-day tour takes you into Yoho National Park to view some of its natural wonders. Among the

attractions are the Spiral Tunnels, Emerald Lake and a natural rock bridge spanning the Kicking Horse River. The tour ends in Lake Louise where the remainder of the afternoon is at your leisure to enjoy this magnificent location. Overnight in Lake Louise. Please note: While arrival at The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise will be approximately 1:00 p.m., scheduled check-in time is not until 4:00 p.m. In the event that your room is not ready, your luggage will be stored and you are free to enjoy the amenities of the hotel.

Day 6. Lake Louise to Calgary with Summit Helicopter

Today you will enjoy a full-day tour concluding in Calgary. Begin the morning with a sightseeing tour of Banff. Among the points of interest are Bow Falls, Lake Minnewanka, Surprise Corner and the Hoodoos. Banff Gondola included. Continue on to Kananaskis for the highlight of today’s adventure, a 12-minute Summit Helicopter Tour over the remarkable landscape of the Rockies. Day 4. Jasper Highlights Tour

Jasper National Park is a World Heritage Site and Canada’s largest National Park. Today you will enjoy a short scenic tour including the many natural attractions, rugged peaks, and perhaps even catch a glimpse of some of the many creatures that call this mountain park home. The remainder of the day is free for you to explore more of Jasper independently. Overnight in Jasper.

Day 5. Jasper to Lake Louise

Travel to Lake Louise via one of the most scenic highways in the world, the Icefields Parkway. A stop will be made at Athabasca Falls before arriving at the Columbia Icefield. Here you will ride on an Ice Explorer to the middle of the Athabasca Glacier to learn more about its geological features. Your driver/guide will explain how glaciers are formed and point out some interesting geological features. Time will be available for lunch (not included). Afterwards, a brief stop will be made at Bow Lake before arriving in Lake Louise this afternoon. Overnight in Lake Louise.

Day 6. Lake Louise to Banff

This morning you are free to explore beautiful Lake Louise on your own. After lunch, a half-day tour takes you into Yoho National Park to view some of its natural wonders. Day 1. Toronto to Jasper (Rail)

This evening, check in at Toronto’s Union Station and board VIA Rail’s ‘Canadian’ for the famous train journey across the prairies to the CanadianRockies. Travel back in time to the days of classic rail travel. The original stainless steel ‘streamliner’ railcars, made famous by the ‘Canadian’ in the1950’s, are totally refurbished with air conditioning, a café car, lounge car, and access for all on board to the dome car.

Exclusive to Sleeper Touring Class: By day, sit back in comfortable armchairs and enjoy the stretch out comfort of your very own accommodation. At night attendants will transformyour quarters into cozy bunks or bedroom.

Day 6. Jasper to Lake Louise (Coach)

Travel by coach today via one of the most scenic highways in North America - the Icefields Parkway. Visit the Columbia Icefield that covers an area of nearly 325 sq km and reaches a depth of 320 metres. Time allows for an Ice Explorer ride (included) on the Athabasca Glacier. Alongthe way stops will be made at Bow & Peyto Lakes, the Crowfoot Glacier and the Athabasca Falls. This highway is renowned for sightings of bears,elk, moose & mountain sheep, so keep your camera handy. Please note: mountain lakes in this region will be frozen through to mid June.

Day 7. Lake Louise to Banff (Coach)

Day 1. Calgary to Banff

Upon arrival at Calgary Airport, transfer to the beautiful town of Banff, your gateway to the Rockies. After checking in at your hotel, the balance of the day is yours to explore.

Day 2. Banff Exploring

Excursion: Learn about the people, geology and wildlife while exploring the spectacular sights of this renowned mountain town. The highlight of this tour is a journey on the Banff Gondola for a 360 degree view of six mountain ranges that surround the town. After a brief stop at Lake Minnewanka you will be returned to your hotel. The balance of the day is free for independent exploring.

Day 3. Banff

A free day to explore at your leisure. You may choose a helicopter ride over the Rockies, a relaxing time at the Hot Springs, or simply enjoy the shops, bars and restaurants.

Day 4. Banff to Jasper

Today your driver/guide will take you on an unforgettable trip via the Icefield Parkway. You will visit the world famous Lake Louise, where you can take your own photograph of the famous Chateau on the banks of the Lake. Your trip also includes a ride on the Ice Explorer, taking you on to the Columbia Icefield and the Athabasca Glacier. Get out and walk on the ancient ice! Wildlife abounds and the scenery is breathtaking. Your day ends when you arrive in Jasper and are dropped off at your hotel.

Day 5. Jasper Exploring

The day is yours to explore independently before you are picked up at your hotel for a Wildlife Discovery Tour. If you want to see wildlife when visiting the Rockies your best opportunity is in Jasper! Put on your safari hat as you set out into the Park with your own Wildlife Interpreter in search of bear, elk, sheep, goats, coyote, wolves, moose and many of Mother Nature’s other mountain creatures. This three hour tour is the perfect chance to enjoy spectacular scenery and learn more about Jasper’s original inhabitants. Don’t forget your camera!

Day 6. Jasper to Vancouver

All aboard the train for your overnight journey to Vancouver! Sit back, relax and admire the splendid scenery from your comfortable reclining seat as you are whisked through an ever-changing landscape from the Mountains to the Coast. At night, your attendant will supply pillow and blanket (payable locally). Drinks, meals and snacks are available to purchase on board.

Day 7. Vancouver

Arriving early morning, transfer to your Vancouver hotel. After checking in, the balance of the day is yours to explore. You may wish to take a city tour, visit Grouse Mountain or the Capilano Suspension Bridge, or simply wander the neighbourhoods of this exciting, friendly city.

Day 3. Toronto – Ottawa

We depart Toronto and follow the North shore of Lake Ontario to Kingston, gateway to the 1000 Islands. Here we take time for a coffee stop and to enjoy the views of the river before continuing on our journey to the nation’s capital, Ottawa. Ottawa’s fine parliament buildings, picturesque parks and canals invite the stroller. After a brief orientation tour we transfer to our hotel, the centrally located Lord Elgin and the remainder of the day is free for you to explore this fine city at your leisure.

The Canadian flag, also known as the Maple Leaf of L’Unifolie (‘the one-leafed’ in French) is red and white, featuring a signature 11-pointed maple leaf inspired by the flag of the country’s Royal Military College. The official ceremony inaugurating the new design was held on Parliament Hill in Ottawa on 15 February 1965, subsequently celebrated as National Flag of Canada Day. The Canadian Red Ensign, bearing the Union Jack and the shield of the royal arms of Canada, was lowered and then, on the stroke of noon, the new maple leaf flag was raised as the crowd sang the national anthem, O’ Canada, followed by God Save the Queen.

Day 4. Ottawa – Mont Tremblant

This morning we set out for the Laurentian Mountains and make our way north into Quebec to Mont Tremblant. The region of Mont Tremblant, the crown jewel of the Laurentians, consists of two mountains and three villages and although a well known ski resort it attracts visitors in the summer for both outdoor activities and relaxation. Your hotel, Le Lodge de la Montague is located near the action of the pedestrian village. During your time here you may wish to take the Panoramic Gondola to the summit for spectacular views of the lake and resort or explore the village. Throughout the summer season there are various festivals, markets and cultural activities taking place.

Day 5. Mont Tremblant – Quebec City

This morning we ride out into the heart of the Laurentians, ascending on a mountain-penetrating route past a series of lakes. We approach St Donat de Montcalm, via noble Mt Noire and make our lunch time stop in the village grandly located on the shores of Lake Archambault. This afternoon a descent into the foothills brings us to Rawdon, through winding country roads to Joliette, and northwards along the St Lawrence River to Quebec City and the Hilton Quebec.

Day 6. Quebec City

This morning we enjoy a guided tour of Quebec City with its fort, gates and cannons, narrow cobbled streets and ancient grey stone houses. Later you are free to further discover the old walled city and visit the many interesting shops, enjoy fine French cuisine and maybe take a walk along the promenade overlooking the St Lawrence River, You may wish to take a horse-drawn carriage around the old city – a great way to become acquainted.

Day 7. Charlevoix Coastline

An early start through the environs to enjoy the pleasures of the zealously protected Charlevoix Coastline. Its bay side views are overlooked at a number of vantage points by the winding cliff top road and the second-home villas of rich Quebecois, discreetly hidden in groves of mature trees and exotic flora. On leaving the city we pass the Chute Montmorency Falls. Descending to Baie-Saint-Paul, where the Gouffre and St Lawrence Rivers meet, we enjoy wonderful views of the valley and the Ile aux Coudres in the middle of the St Lawrence. A further steep descent to Saint-Joseph-de-la-Rive – once a thriving ship building centre – takes us on an enchanting riverside route before ascending once again and arriving at the Auberge des 3 Canards. We continue our drive to Baie-Sainte-Catherine where we board our Croisieres AML ship to enjoy an included lunch and whale-watching cruise. Krill and caplin drawn by the plankton in these waters attract the whales, most likely sighted off which are the fin, minke and beluga whales. If we are lucky we may even see the odd humpback or even a blue whale, the largest mammal on earth. After the cruise we return to our hotel in Quebec.

Day 8. Quebec City – Eastern Townships

An early start today to make the most of the Beauce region, an area enriched by the Chaudiere River that flows from Lake Megantic just north of the American border into the St Lawrence River, and to enjoy the greatest concentration maple groves in Quebec. Shortly after crossing the St Lawrence River we stop at the Chaudière Falls, an impressive waterfall and suspension bridge, named ‘asticou’ (boiler) by the Abenaki Indians, because of the kettle-shaped basin at the foot of the cascades. The river was the scene of a gold rush in 1846 when a nugget the size of a pigeon’s egg was found. By the beginning of the 20th century over $1 million worth of gold had been extracted. Our route takes us along the tree-lined banks of the Chaudière as we pass through the towns of Saint Marie, Valley Junction, Saint Joseph de Beauce and Beauceville. Our stopping place at lunchtime is Lake Megantic, a fisherman’s paradise and one of the most gorgeous lakeside spots even by Canadian standards. This afternoon we travel to North Hatley, which sits at the northern end of the Lake Massawippi and was a popular second home for wealthy Americans during the 1920s before we continue to our hotel, Manoir des Sables in Magog for an overnight stay.

Day 9. Eastern Townships – Montreal

One of the world’s great beauty spots, but not yet overrun by tourism, the Eastern Townships are ours to enjoy today. Tree covered hills rising to well over 3,000ft are interspersed with deep valleys and enchanting lakes. Today we visit St Benoit Abbey and pass through the pretty villages of Bolton and South Bolton until we reach Knowlton. It is here that we make our lunch stop, with the town’s fine old brick buildings having been converted to restaurants and boutiques. After lunch we travel to Sutton, with its mountain towering over the lovely winter resort and enjoying fine views of the Brochets River Valley near Mount Pinacle. From here we continue on to Montreal and our hotel, the Best Western Ville-Marie.

Day 10. Montreal – In flight

This morning is free for some sightseeing before we transfer to Montreal Airport and our return scheduled Air Canada direct flight to London Heathrow Airport.

Depart from London Heathrow for a direct scheduled Air Canada flight to Halifax. Transfer to the Lord Nelson Hotel for the first of two nights.

Day 2. Halifax

Set in the world’s second largest natural harbour, Halifax, the capital of Nova Scotia, is steeped in seafaring history. Enjoy an orientation tour to familiarise yourself with the city, with the rest of the day at leisure to enjoy the vibrant community life of Halifax and perhaps try some excellent seafood.

Day 3. Halifax – Chester

Tracing the rugged coastline of Nova Scotia southwards, we make stops at the tiny fishing village of Peggy’s Cove and Lunenburg, home of the Bluenose II, a fishing schooner that has become symbolic and synonymous with Nova Scotia. We stay the night at the Atlantic Hotel and Marina, Oak Island, minutes from Chester and Mahone Bay.

Day 4. Chester – Digby

The Kejimkujik Scenic Drive unites the coastlines of Nova Scotia, from the granite rocks of the Atlantic south shore, through the lush Annapolis Valley to the fishing ports that fringe the Bay of Fundy, including Digby. Our hotel is the superb Digby Pines Golf Resort and Spa.

Day 5. Digby – Saint John

Following an excursion to Annapolis Royal, a picturesque coastal harbour town with a proud 17th century heritage, which includes a visit to the floral wonderland of Annapolis Royal Historic Gardens, we catch the ferry from Digby to Saint John, and the province of New Brunswick. Our hotel is the Hilton Saint John.

Day 6. Saint John – St Andrews – Frederichton

Our scenic journey continues to Frederichton, capital of New Brunswick, by way of St Andrews, Canada’s oldest seaside resort town and Kings Landing Historical Settlement, a meticulous restoration of loyalist life in New Brunswick in the 1800s. Our hotel for the night is the Delta Frederichton.

Day 7. Frederichton - Moncton

Back to the coast this morning and Hopewell Cape. These ‘flowerpot’ rocks, separated from the land and shaped by the erosion of the highest tides in the world; those of the Bay of Fundy which can rise and fall up to 15m. Tide times permitting, there is even the opportunity to walk on the ocean floor. We proceed to Moncton later, for the first of two nights at the Delta Beausejour Hotel. You can join the optional sunset lobster cruise in the evening.

Day 8. Moncton – Sainte-Anne-de-Kent – Bouctouche – Moncton

The Acadians are the descendants of Maritime Canada’s 17th century French colonists, and we discover a little about their heritage and lifestyle on a full day excursion to the Olivier Soapery, the Irving Eco-Centre and Bouchtouche’s eclectic village reproduction, La Pays de la Sagouine, offering an insight into Acadian culture.

Day 9. Moncton – Charlottetown

Crossing the Confederation Bridge eastwards, we reach Prince Edward Island, Canada’s smallest province. Known as the ‘million acre farm’, this delightful island is idyllically rural, with a landscape similar to Ireland. Our exploration of the island begins at Cavendish where we visit Green Gables Heritage Place, where the author of Anne of green gables, Lucy Maud Montgomery was inspired to write many novels. We spend two nights in Charlottetown, the island’s charming Victorian capital, at the best Western Charlottetown.

Day 10. Charlottetown (Prince Edward Island)

Today you will have time to explore the area of the historical island’s capital city – Charlottetown. You will also enjoy an included cruise to view the breathtaking rocky red shoreline and cliffs of Charlottetown Harbour, sail past historic sites and lighthouses to Governor’s Island in Hillsborough Bay. This is a great opportunity to learn about the mussel industry, the art of lobster fishing and visit the natural habitat of Harbour Seals and Gray Seals.

Day 11. Charlottetown – Baddeck

Bidding Farewell to Prince Edward Island, we make the short journey to the Wood Island ferry port, and cross to New Glasgow, Nova Scotia. From there, we traverse the Carso Causeway, and follow the sublimely scenic Cabot Trail to Cape Breton Island and the town of Baddeck, where Scottish inventor Alexander Graham Bell built his summer house. We visit the museum established in his honour and relax for the night at the Inverary Inn.

Day 12. Baddeck – Cheticamp

The Cabot Trail continues north and we follow it by way of mountain highlands to the shores of the Atlantic and, fittingly, a coastline likened to Scotland’s. Rounding the top of the island, we drive through the Cape Breton Highland’s National Park, a spectacular wilderness route encompassing lush parks, pristine waterways and broad sandy beaches, to the Acadian fishing village of Cheticamp, where we have included a whale-watching cruise and a night at Laurie’s Motor Inn.

Day 13. Cheticamp – Liscomb

The Ceilidh Trail is another bewitchingly scenic drive reflecting much of Cape Breton’s Scottish heritage. We re-cross the Canso Causeway to Nova Scotia and continue to Sherbrooke Historic Village, a working recreation of a 100 year-old shipbuilding and lumbering community. Nearby Liscomb is the day’s final destination and our hotel, the Liscomb Lodge.

Day 14. Liscomb – Halifax – In flight

We return to Halifax along the eastern shore of Nova Scotia, and there may be time for some last minute shopping before we transfer to the airport for our direct, scheduled, overnight Air Canada flight to London.

Day 15. London

Upon arrival at London Heathrow you will be transferred home.

Day 1. London - Calgary - Banff

Fly from London’s Heathrow Airport and our direct Air Canada flight to Calgary. On arrival at Calgary our coach awaits to transfer us to Banff and our hotel, the Banff Caribou Lodge. This evening you are free to enjoy the hotel facilities and the choice of local eating places.

Day 2. Banff - Lake Louise - Banff

Today we tour the surrounds of Banff and its lakes, which includes Moraine Lake and Lake Louise. Returning to Banff and our hotel, we are free this evening to discover some of the town’s nightlife.

Day 3. Banff

Today we are at leisure in one of the loveliest small towns in North America. On the outskirts of town is Sulphur Mountain, with its enclosed gondola ride to the 7,500 ft summit from where there are some breathtaking views of the Bow Valley and Banff town below.

Day 4. Banff - Columbia Icefield - Jasper

This morning we take the Icefield Parkway from Banff National Park to Jasper National Park. This stunningly scenic road links these two great parks, and for over 140 miles takes us through jagged mountain peaks and high forested valleys, passing emerald lakes and mountain fed streams, waterfalls and rivers. The halfway point is the spectacular Columbia Icefield, one of the biggest accumulations of ice and snow south of the Arctic Circle. Here we take an included Ice Explorer ride on to the surface of the Athabasca Glacier

(subject to favourable weather conditions). Turning west we enter Jasper National Park; 4,200 acres of alpine forests, natural hot springs, white-water rivers, tranquil valleys and jagged snow-capped mountains. Our hotel for the next two nights is the Lobstick Lodge. Day 5. Jasper

This morning we are free to relax in Jasper. In the afternoon we board our coach for an unforgettable sightseeing journey that begins with the limestone gorge of Maligne Canyon and continues along the shore of Medicine Lake and on to the breathtaking Maligne Lake, largest of the glacier fed lakes in the Rockies and the second largest in the world. Our evening is spent in Jasper, with dinner included.

Day 6. Jasper - Kelowna

A spectacular drive this morning as we leave the Rocky Mountains and descend to the lakes of the Okanagan Valley and our next destination, Kelowna. Our hotel tonight is the well-appointed Best Western Plus Kelowna Hotel & Suites.

Day 7. Kelowna - Victoria

Leaving Kelowna behind this morning, we take the twisting scenic valley route to Hope. Day 10. Victoria - Vancouver

Leaving Victoria behind this morning, we drive to Nanaimo, a deep sea fishing port and major centre for the forest industry, where we take the spectacular ferry crossing through the Strait of Georgia to Horseshoe Bay. A feeding ground for whales, dolphins, sea-lions and birds, the Strait of Georgia is a paradise of small islands with beach front houses and towering fir trees, some as much as 600 years old. We dock at Horseshoe Bay, and continue on our journey to central Vancouver and our hotel, the Coast Coal Harbour. Late afternoon and evening at leisure.

Day 11. Vancouver

Vancouver is considered by many to have one of the most spectacular settings in the world; in the foreground the encircling Pacific Ocean and as a backdrop, the grandeur of Grouse Mountain. For natural beauty, there is the 1,000 acre Stanley Park, the largest urban park in North America. It is Vancouver’s green heart, a wilderness area

of forest, marshland and beaches. Surrounded by ocean on three sides, the Park houses the aquarium and the zoo. For excitement and variety, Chinatown centred on Pender Street, is a city apart. Vancouver’s 100,000 Chinese are expected soon to surpass San Francisco’s as the largest community outside the Far East. Shops, hotels, markets and restaurants along with incessant activity combine to create a vibrant atmosphere. The Gastown area of the city is distinguished by cobbled walkways, gas lamps, quaint shops and restaurants. As an introduction to this fabulous city we have arranged a short orientation tour, then you are free to discover its wonders for yourself. This afternoon you have the opportunity of an optional excursion to Grouse Mountain and Capilano Suspension Bridge.

Day 12. Vancouver

A relaxing free day to further enjoy Vancouver. There are 9,000 marine and freshwater animals at the aquarium in Stanley Park. The Classical Chinese garden is a replica from the Ming Dynasty and the only one of its kind outside China and you can view the whole panorama from the Harbour Tower, with its observation deck and revolving restaurant. Granville Island, a friendly easy going and popular spot is alive with shops, markets, galleries, clubs and a marina. To the west of downtown, is Kitsilano Beach which looks out over English Bay towards Stanley Park and is the place to sit outside in one of its café s and watch the sun go down.

Day 13. Vancouver - London

Time in the morning for some last minute shopping, before we transfer to Vancouver Airport and our direct Air Canada flight to London Heathrow Airport.

Day 14. London

Arrive back at London Heathrow Airport.

Day 3. Toronto to Niagara Falls (130 km)

Continue along the Niagara Parkway heading towards Niagara Falls, one of the world’s natural wonders. Day 7. Ottawa

In the heart of Ottawa, rising dramatically from a bluff overlooking the Ottawa River, are the Parliament Buildings. These house the National Assembly and serve as the symbol of the capital, and are the focal point of a city that has become a fascinating blend of English and French, historic and modern, ceremonial and casual. Many of the city’s attractions are within sight of Parliament Hill. Some of the attractions you may wish to visit include Confederation Square, the site of the National War Memorial; the National Arts Centre; Sparks Street Mall and the By Ward Market, a popular area of cafés, craft shops, farmers’ market stalls and nightclubs. A short distance from downtown are the Ottawa Locks of the Rideau Canal. Another must-see, is the Canadian Museum of Civilization, located directly across the Ottawa River from Parliament Hill showing the rich culture and history that is Canada (admission included).

Day 8. Ottawa to Mont Tremblant (153 km)

Today head north east to the jewel of the Laurentians, Mont Tremblant, a European styled all season resort village. Should you have missed the wildlife in the Algonquin Park, we encourage you to visit the Omega park, in Montebello (on the way to Mont Tremblant) which features endemic wildlife, or join a black bear observation tour in the Kenauk reserve, also nearby Montebello. Take some time to enjoy local activities such as hiking, biking, kayaking, horse riding, whitewater rafting, or a helicopter tour. This four-season resort has much to offer the weary traveller, including a number of spas if you care to indulge.

Day 9. Mont Tremblant to Quebec City (368 km)

Enjoy the pleasant scenery as you travel from Mont Tremblant to historic Trois Rivieres for a lunch stop and drive along the Chemin du Roy road to Quebec City.

Day 10. Quebec City

Experience the old world charm of Vieux Quebec with a guided tour of the old city on foot (included). With its cobblestone streets, fortified city wall (one of a kind in North America), and seventeenth century architecture, this UNESCO World Heritage site is complimented by artisan shops, cafes, landscaped parks, and numerous monuments. Discover hundreds of places of interest in Montreal including the Notre Dame Basilica - one of the masterpieces of religious architecture in North America located in Old Montreal, residential and financial districts, French Quarter, outside view of Olympic Site, McGill University and a panoramic view from an observation point on top of Mt. Royal. Montreal offers a fascinating mix of both the French and English cultures. Some of the finest shopping and dining in North America awaits you. You may wish to join a walking or biking tour of the city or a sightseeing cruise (not included) or explore the city at your own pace.

Day 13. Montreal to Kingston (288 km)

Travel south to the city of Kingston. On the way enjoy the visit of Upper Canada Village (included), located in Morrisburg, an 1860s reconstructed village. You’ll meet loads of friendly folk from the past as you visit over 40 heritage buildings including mills, trades shops, farms, churches, homes, factories and even a one-room schoolhouse. Before reaching Kingston, stop at Gananoque to join an hour cruise of the 1000 islands (included). Affectionately known as ‘limestone’, Kingston is a city noted for its handsome 19th century limestone architecture. Once the capital of Canada (1841 to 1843), Kingston is located at the point where Lake Ontario flows into the St. Lawrence River, and at the southern end of the Rideau Canal. Visit the Kingston Mills Lock station, which is the southern entrance to the Rideau Canal system, where visitors can view the four locks raising boats fourteen metres.

Day 14. Kingston to Toronto (265 km)

Take the time to visit Fort Henry National Historic Site (admission not included) near Kingston. The flash of scarlet uniforms, the beating of the drums and the sudden crack of musket fire echoing off the limestone battlements send visitors reeling back in time. A living museum of military life, Fort Henry was built between 1832 and 1834 to repel an American invasion that never came. The fort, once the largest military establishment in Upper Canada, now offers visitors a glimpse of the soldier’s life of those days, through guided tours, soldiers parades and drills. The highlight and most colourful feature is the internationally renowned Fort Henry Guard: a precision trained unit of Canadian university students performing daily 19th century infantry drills. Stop in the city of Peterborough, whichboasts the world’s highest lift locks, literally lifting pleasure crafts, along with the water they float in, 20 metres (65 feet) straight up. Day 1. Vancouver to Campbell River (177 km/105 mi + Ferry)

Depart Vancouver for Horseshoe Bay and sail for 1 hr 45 min on BC Ferries (ferry toll included) to Vancouver Island. Upon departing BC Ferries head north through Vancouver Island’s second largest city, Nanaimo, known as the Harbour City, and Parksville, the beginning of Beach Country and home of the annual International Sandcastle Competition. Your destination today is Campbell River, historically renowned as the “Salmon Capital of the World,” lying at the heart of neighbouring Strathcona Park, Desolation Sound, Mount Washington and Robson Bight. Surrounded by the backdrop of Strathcona Provincial Park to the west and the Coastal Mountain range to the east, massive cruise ships pass right by Campbell River’s doorstep, and their parade of lights is best viewed from world-famous Discovery Pier as they venture up the Inside Passage for Alaskan destinations.

Day 2. Campbell River to Knight Inlet Lodge and the Grizzly Bears

Today’s destination, Knight Inlet Lodge, is not accessible by road, so you’ll fly in by floatplane from Campbell River. A thrilling 30 minute flight brings you to the mouth of the Glendale River where Knight Inlet Lodge floats on large cedar booms. Bring your camera - you’ll be going on a bear watching and wildlife viewing tour in search of the grizzly bears that frequent this area. Overnight at Knight Inlet Lodge (lunch and dinner is included).

Day 3. Knight Inlet Lodge to Tofino (225 km / 140 mi)

Early this morning return to the Bear Viewing platforms for a last photo opportunity before departing for Campbell River by floatplane. Arrival time is between 10.30 & 11.00am. Collect your car and head south west to Tofino on the rugged West Coast. En-route, picture stops should be made at Cathedral Grove to enjoy the splendour of 800 year old Douglas Fir and Cedar and the Mars Water-Bombers at Sproat Lake, the world’s two largest water-bombers used for the sole purpose of putting out forest fires. After the Mars Water-Bombers, drive through the majestic Sutton Pass and the Sawtooth Range of the Cascade Mountains to arrive in Tofino around mid afternoon.

Day 4. Tofino Choose 1 of 2 cruises Whale Watch or Black Bear Cruise

Today enjoy a Whale Watch cruise in search of gray whales, humpback whales, sea lions, sea birds and resident bald eagles or a Bear Viewing Cruise in search of black bears who head for the closest food source - the ocean!

Day 6. Whale Watch Cruise & Victoria Exploring

Day 10. Kelowna to Vancouver (371 km/232 mi)

An amazing trip awaits you today, from Kelowna to Vancouver. Travel via the Okanagan connector to the Coquihalla Highway. Along the way stop at any of the roadside stalls offering for sale during the long summer day’s cherries, apples, apricots, pears, peaches, grapes and plums. Turning onto the Coquihalla Highway climb to an elevation of 1244 metres where over 10 metres of snow can fall in an average winter. You will witness incredible feats of engineering as you travel through the Great Bear snow shed, crossing the Dry Gulch Bridge (over 280 metres long and 175 metres high). Begin descending from the summit pass through some of the most beautiful landscapes in the province. This dramatic change of environment is always exhilarating, as you go from bright sunlight on the high rock faces to misty coastal cedars and tall firs in the space of half an hour. Approaching the Pacific coast, the canyon opens into the broad fertile Fraser Valley. A stop at Minter Gardens in the Fraser Valley is a must!

Day 1. Calgary - Kananaskis

Arrive in Calgary and collect your compact car which we’ll upgrade FREE of charge to an intermediate. Then it’s a relaxing 45 minute drive to the 4* Delta Kananaskis, in a breathtaking setting, right on the foothills of the Rockies. This wonderful Lodge hotel has 5 restaurants, full service spa and an indoor heated pool. The perfect beginning to your Canadian adventure.

Day 2. Kananaskis - Banff

Leave Kananaskis and head for Banff, as the open roads and picture postcard scenery opens before you. Stay at the 4* Buffalo Mountain Lodge, a beautiful boutique Lodge, 10 minutes from downtown Banff on the slopes of Tunnel Mountain. The hotel offers a wood burning fireplace, balcony and private bathroom in every room and is a great place for wild life spotting– elks, deer and wolves in particular. Just 25 minutes past Lake Louise you’ll find Yoho, an area often overlooked by the tour buses but just as pretty if not more so than Lake Louise. Yoho is the home of the Takakkaw Falls and Emerald Lake with its greeny blue colour created by the glacial flour in the snowmelt. It’s also one of the few lakes you can hike around. You’ll be staying at the Emerald Lake Lodge - another breath taking setting surrounded by the lake and the dominant mountains.

Day 6. Yoho - Jasper

As you head north to Jasper you will be driving on one of the worlds most scenic roads,‘the Ice-Field Parkway’. This is a winding wonderland of frozen waterfalls, lakes, glaciers,wildlife and rivers. Take your time on this road as there’s a lot to see including Peyto Lake and the Athabasca Falls. Arrive in Jasper, a friendly town, with excellent hikes. Here you can hire horsesfrom the Pyramid Lakes stables, and head for the area around Jasper Park Lodge, a great place tolook for wildlife.

Day 8. Jasper - Wells Gray Park

Today you’ll drive south along the Yellow Head Highway to Wells Gray Park. Not far out of Jasper is Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Rockies. Wells Gray Park is a spectacular, pure wilderness and a must stop on any tour of British Columbia. Take in the landscapes, forests, wildlife and countless waterfalls; including world-famous Helmcken Falls, a waterfall three times the height of Niagara! Day 9. Wells Gray Park - Penticton (Okanagan Valley)

Today you’re heading for the Okanagan Valley. On the drive south, you’ll be amazed, just how much the landscape changes from a lush green to an almost desert like hue. This is vineyard country, and Penticton is home to some of British Columbia’s finest wines. Sandwiched between 2 beautiful lakes, it also has crisp, clean beaches, warm sunshine and mostly dry days. Swim in the lakes, visit a vineyard, and sample some wonderful wines as the sun sets over the Okanagan Valley. You’ll be staying at the Penticton Lakeside Resort, a beach side hotel with fantastic amenities and spectacular views of Okanagan Lake.

Day 10. Penticton - Manning Park

Today you’ll drive west through Manning Park, this route is the most scenic route to Vancouver, past babbling brooks, waterfalls and wildlife. You’ll be staying at the Manning Park Resort - an isolated haven for your last taste of the Canadian wilderness before you head for Vancouver. Here you can hike up to the ski hill and follow the cross country ski routes, perfect for spotting black bears, marmots and deer. Stay at the Manning Park Resort, complete with indoor pool and health club.

Day 11. Manning Park - Vancouver

Join the Trans Canada Highway at the town of Hope and head west. It’ll take you around 2 ½ hours to get to Vancouver, a city that routinely tops those lists of the world’s greatest places to live. It is blessed with a snow-capped mountain

backdrop and crystal blue harbours. It’s also a gateway to the Inside Passage, a marvellous maze of glacier-carved fjords and forested islands. But what really sets Vancouver apart is its urban density, it’s a vertical city which means that most of it is accessible by foot. Okanagan ValleyThe rolling hills of this lakeside BC region are well worth the drive from Vancouver. Studded among the vine-striped slopes are more than 100 wineries enjoying a diverse climate that fosters both crisp whites and bold reds. With varietals including pinot noir, pinot gris, pinot blanc, merlot and chardonnay, there’s a wine here to suit almost every palate. Most visitors base themselves in Kelowna, the Okanagan’s wine capital, before fanning out to well-known blockbuster wineries like Mission Hill, Quail’s Gate, Cedar Creek and Summerhill Pyramid Winery (yes, it has a pyramid). Many of them also have excellent vista-hugging restaurants.

Golden MileSome of BC’s best Okanagan wineries are centered south of the valley around the historic town of Oliver, where the Golden Mile’s hot climate fosters a long, warm growing season. Combined with gravel, clay and sandy soils, this area is ideally suited to varietals like merlot, chardonnay, gewürztraminer and cabernet sauvignon. While the

20 or so wineries here are not actually crammed into one mile – it’s more like 20km – the proximity of celebrated producers like Burrowing Owl, Tinhorn Creek and Road 13 Vineyards makes this an ideal touring area. And if you’re still thirsty, continue south to Osoyoos and check out Nk’Mip Cellars, a First Nations winery on the edge of a desert. Vancouver IslandLong-established as a farming area, Vancouver Island’s verdant Cowichan Valley is also home to some great little wineries. A short drive from Victoria, you’ll find Averill Creek, Blue Grouse, Cherry Point Vineyards and Venturie-Schulze. Also consider Merridale Estate Cidery, which produces six celebrated ciders on its gently-sloped orchard grounds. Niagara PeninsulaThis picture-perfect Ontario region of country inns and charming old towns offers more than 60 wineries and grows more than three-quarters of Canada’s grapes. Neatly divided between the

low-lying Niagara-on-the-Lake area and the higher Niagara Escarpment, its complex mix of soils and climates – often likened to the Loire Valley – is ideal for chardonnay, riesling, pinot noir and cabernet-franc varietals. This is also the production centre for Canadian icewine, that potently sweet dessert drink made from grapes frozen on the vine. Home to some of Canada’s biggest and best wineries, including Inniskillin, Jackson-Triggs and Peller Estates, don’t miss smaller pit-stops like Magnotta and Cave Spring Cellars in the Escarpment area.

Prince Edward CountyProving that not all Ontario’s wineries are clustered in Niagara, this comparatively new grape-growing region – located in the province’s southeastern corner and almost three hours drive from Toronto – is a charming alternative if you want to avoid the tour buses winding through the main wine area. A long-established fruit-growing district with generally lower temperatures than Niagara, cooler-climate wines are favored here – including chardonnay and pinot noir. Eastern TownshipsStarting around 80km southeast of Montréal, this idyllic patchwork farmland region in Québec is studded with quiet villages, leafy woodlands, crystal clear lakes and winding countryside roads. A rising tide of wineries has joined the traditional farm operations here in recent years, with rieslings and chardonnays particularly suited to the area’s cool climate and soil conditions. But it’s the local icewines, dessert wines and fruit wines that are the area’s main specialities, so make sure you come with a sweet tooth. Wineries to perk up your taste-buds here include Domaine Félibre, Vignoble de L’Orpailleur and Vignoble le Cep d’Argent.

MontérégieThe dominant player in Québec’s wider Eastern Townships, this bumpy and bucolic area is packed with vineyards and orchards (not to mention a

surfeit of maple groves). A major fruit farming region – this is an ideal spot to try ciders and flavor-packed fruit wines – growers here are happy to try just about any red or white varietal, but it’s their rosés that are particularly memorable. Recommended wineries include Domaine St-Jacques, Les Petits Cailloux and Vignoble des Pins; and keep in mind that Québec restaurants often encourage diners to bring their own bottles, so fill your car as you explore the region.

Nova ScotiaDivided into six boutique wine-producing regions – from the warm shoreline of Northumberland Strait to the verdant Annapolis Valley – Nova Scotia’s two-dozen wineries are mostly just a couple of hours drive from big city Halifax. One of the world’s coldest grape-growing areas, cool-climate whites are a staple here, including a unique varietal known as l’Acadie Blanc. Innovative sparkling wines are a Nova Scotia specialty and they tend to dominate the drops that are on offer at the popular stops such as the excellent Benjamin Bridge Vineyards. Other highly recommended destinations to fill up your glass

include Gaspereau Vineyards, Jost Vineyards and Domaine De Grand Pre.

Legends on the Niagara is an incredible 45-hole complex just 30 minutes drive from the city of Toronto. It has two 18 hole championship courses, Battlefield and Ussher’s Creek, and both provide a very distinct and rewarding challenge. There is also a nine hole course and a superb practice facility all within this 1000 acre site. Eagles Nest Golf Club

Eagles Nest Golf Club is one of the newest but most impressive golf courses in the area. It was designed by Doug Carrick who combined his modern design philosophy with traditional elements and the natural environment to create this stunning links layout. There are over 100 Scottish - style pot bunkers on this 7476 yard golf course providing a tough but highly enjoyable test of golf.

British Columbia and AlbertaFly to - Vancouver

The cosmopolitan city of Vancouver is surrounded by great golf courses - some carved from the imposing mountains and some using the rugged shorelines to define the layout. The 14th hole at Furry Creek has the distinction of being British Columbia’s most photographed hole. That is no surprise. It is set on a rocky outcrop that protrudes into the waters of the Howe Sound and features a tight dog-leg and a large contoured green. Other challenges on this modern classic include a dramtic 165ft drop from the first tee onto the beautifully manicured fairway…if you’re lucky. Silvertip Golf Resort

The course at Silvertip is regarded as among the most scenically rewarding golf courses in the world. It can play from a sedate 5200 to a mighty 7200 yards, meaning players off all levels will enjoy a round amidst the breath-taking natural surroundings. Canada’s stunning landscapes play host to a number of incredible wildlife viewing opportunities amidst its lush forests, rugged mountains, flowing rivers and deep waters. Situated 60 kilometres from the mouth of the inlet is Knight Inlet Lodge. The floating lodge is tucked into Glendale Cove, which offers one of the few protected anchorages in the inlet, and it is here that you will begin each day’s adventure. The lodge is an assortment of construction styles dating from the early 1940’s, when the original float housed a logging camp. Recent construction has provided modern buildings for guest accommodation. In the Palace, the Native House and the Lair, all of the rooms are cedar paneled and have private bathrooms for our guests’ comfort. Most of the rooms have one double/queen/king bed and a twin bed. With the addition of a cot

they can accommodate four in some of the rooms. Most of the guest buildings have lounges with wood burning stoves in them, for relaxing in the evening or on a cool day.

Knight Inlet is a 100 km long fjord carved by glaciers in the coastal mountains. This pristine wilderness is the native habitat of the Grizzly Bear. Every spring when the bears come out of hibernation, they can be seen from a boat on the banks of Glendale Cove eating sedge grasses, mussels and barnacles that abound in the cove. In the fall the bears feed heavily on the returning Salmon to the Glendale River and can be seen in large numbers from the specially constructed viewing platform.

Day 1. Vancouver to Quadra Island

This morning transfer (own cost) to Vancouver’s International Airport “South Terminal” for a scheduled scenic flight to Campbell River. Upon arrival transfer by water taxi to Quadra Island. Day 2. Whale Watching Tour

Experience the majesty of killer whales in their natural environment. Transient and resident pods of as many as 120 whales each gather around Robson Bight and Telegraph Cove each summer, making Vancouver Island one of the world’s hot spots for watching. These incredible mammals arrive each year to socialize and mate, giving lucky on-lookers a rare chance to see them in the unspoiled splendour of their natural habitat. For a big city, Toronto is an easy place to get to know. Travellers say they feel at home here, and that’s because it’s a homely place. It’s the scale of the place that you warm to – big enough to be interesting, but not so big that you feel lost or intimidated. Even on a cold winter’s day, it can feel welcoming; the blue skies take the edge off the cold chill, and coming in from a snowstorm, the restaurants, bars and shops feel cosy. That said, the city is arguably at its best in the other three seasons: in spring the midtown streets suddenly become forests; in summer the patio bars and waterfront come alive; in autumn the leaves change colour and the air is clean and crisp.

Whatever season you come, don’t expect non-stop tourist attractions. Instead, slow down and stroll through the neighbourhoods, soaking up the different cultures that make their mark on Toronto.

Kensington Market is a good place to start: this bustling, bohemian neighbourhood is where successive waves of new Canadians have forged their way and given colour to the cityscape. The Annex, Chinatown, Greektown, Cabbagetown, the Beach and Yorkville are other characterful districts that are worth a ramble.

For inconspicuous consumption, veer away from the mainstream towards Toronto’s quirkier streets – West Queen West, the Danforth, College Street – where individuality comes across in unique shops and places to eat. Toronto’s kitchens are as multicultural as its population. Korean walnut cakes, Italian espresso, Malaysian laksas and face-melting Indian curries all in a day’s dining. In Whistler, ski fanatics will find absolutely everything they need for an amazing ski holiday. Canada’s foremost 4-season resort is considered one of the premier mountain destinations in the world. It has a huge vertical and a massive ski area – over 8,000 acres – with a great combination of high open bowls and woodland trails, and some of the best powder anywhere on the planet. The peak of the mountain offers a fantastic challenge for advanced skiers, but there’s a whole range of runs and slopes suitable for all levels of expertise. The arbitration scheme is arranged by ABTA and administered independently by IDRS, part of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. It provides for a simple and inexpensive method of arbitration on documents alone with restricted liability on you in respect of costs. Full details will be provided on request or can be obtained from the ABTA website.The scheme does not apply to claims for an amount greater than £5,000 per person. There is also a limit of £25,000 per booking form. Neither does it apply to claims which are solely in respect of physical injury or illness or their consequences.The scheme can however deal with compensation claims which include an element of minor injury or illness subject to a limit of £1,000 on the amount the arbitrator can award per person in respect of this element.The application for arbitration and Statement

of Claim must be received by IDRS within nine months of the date of return from the holiday. Outside this time limit arbitration under the Scheme may still be available if the company agrees, but the ABTA Code does not require such agreement.For injury and illness claims, you may like to use the ABTA/Chartered Institute of Arbitrators Mediation Procedure. This is a voluntary scheme and requires us to agree for mediation to go ahead. The aim is to help you resolve your dispute in a quick and cost effective way. Details on request or from www.abta.com. 4. YOUR HOLIDAY PRICEWe reserve the right to alter the prices of any of the holidays shown in our brochure/website. You will be advised of the current price of the holiday that you wish to book before your contract is confirmed.When you make your booking you must pay a deposit, dependent on the particular holiday package booked. The balance of the price of your travel arrangements must be paid at least 12 weeks before your departure date. If the deposit and/or balance is not paid in time, we shall cancel your travel arrangements. If the balance is not paid in time we shall retain your deposit. The price of your travel arrangements was calculated using exchange rates quoted in the Financial Times Guide to World Currencies in relation to the following currencies: Canadian Dollar 1.54.The cost of your deposit is dependent on the particular package you have booked (eg certain flight tickets and low cost carriers require full payment at time of booking) and can vary from £150 up to the full holiday cost.Changes in transportation costs, including the cost of fuel, dues, taxes or fees chargeable for services such as landing taxes or embarkation or disembarkation fees at ports and airports and exchange rates mean that the price of your travel arrangements may change after you have booked.However there will be no change within 30 days of your departure. We will absorb and you will not be charged for any increase equivalent to 2% of the price of your travel arrangements, which excludes insurance premiums and any amendment charges. You will be charged for the amount over and above that, plus an administration charge of £1.00 per person. If this means that you have to pay an increase of more than 10% of the price of your travel arrangements, you will have the option of accepting a change to another holiday if we are able to offer one (if this is of equivalent or higher quality you will not have to pay more but if it is of lower quality you will be refunded the difference in price), or cancelling and receiving a full refund of all monies paid, except for any amendment charges.We will consider an appropriate refund of insurance premiums paid if you can show that

you are unable to transfer or reuse your policy. Should you decide to cancel for this reason, you must exercise your right to do so within 14 days from the issue date printed on your final invoice.Should the price of your holiday go down due to the changes mentioned above, by more than 2% of your holiday cost, then any refund due will be paid to you. However, please note that travel arrangements are not always purchased in local currency and some apparent changes have no impact on the price of your travel due to contractual and other protection in place.

5. IF YOU CHANGE YOUR BOOKINGIf, after our confirmation invoice has been issued, you wish to change your travel arrangements in any way, for example your chosen departure date or accommodation, we will do our utmost to make these changes but it may not always be possible. Any request for changes to be made must be in writing from the person who made the booking. You will be asked to pay an administration charge of £20 per person, and any further cost we incur in making this alteration. You should be aware that these costs could increase the closer to the departure date that changes are made and you should contact us as soon as possible.Note: Certain travel arrangements (e.g. non-flexible flight tickets or low cost airlines) may not be changeable after a reservation has been made and any alteration request could incur a cancellation charge of up to 100% of that part of the arrangements.

6. IF YOU CANCEL YOUR HOLIDAYYou, or any member of your party, may cancel your travel arrangements at any time. Written notification from the person who made the booking on your behalf must be received at our offices. Since we incur costs in cancelling your travel arrangements, you will have to pay the applicable cancellation charges up to the maximum shown in clause 7.Note: If the reason for your cancellation is covered under the terms of your insurance policy, you may be able to reclaim these charges. 7. IF WE CHANGE OR CANCEL YOUR HOLIDAYIt is unlikely that we will have to make any changes to your travel arrangements, but we do plan the arrangements many months in advance. Occasionally, we may have to make changes and we reserve the right to do so at any time. Most of these changes will be minor and we will advise you of them at the earliest possible date. We also reserve the right in any circumstances to cancel your travel arrangements. For example, if the minimum number of clients required for a particular travel arrangement is not reached, we may have to cancel it. However, we will not cancel your travel arrangements less than 6 weeks before your departure date, except for reasons of force majeure or failure by you to pay the final balance. If we are unable to provide the booked travel arrangements, you can either have a refund of all monies paid or accept an offer of alternative travel arrangements of comparable standard from us, if available (we will refund any price difference if the alternative is of a lower

value). If it is necessary to cancel your travel arrangements, we will pay to you compensation as set out in this clause. In accordance with EU Regulation 2111/2005 we are required to advise you of the actual carrier operating your flight/connecting flight/transfer. We do this by listing carriers to be used or likely to be used by advising at time of booking. Any changes to the actual airline after you have received your tickets will be notified to you as soon as possible and in all cases at check-in or at the boarding gate.Such a change is deemed to be a minor change. Other examples of minor changes include alteration of your outward/return flights by less than 12 hours, changes to aircraft type, change of accommodation to another of the same standard. If we make a major change to your holiday, we will inform you or your travel agent as soon as reasonably possible if there is time before your departure. You will have the choice of either accepting the change of arrangements, accepting an offer of alternative travel arrangements of comparable standard from us if available (we will refund any price difference if the alternative is of a lower value), or cancelling your booked holiday and receiving a full refund of all monies paid. In all cases, except where the major change arises due to reasons of force majeure, we will pay compensation as detailed below:

Force Majeure This means that we will not pay you compensation if we have to cancel or change your travel arrangements in any way because of unusual or unforeseeable circumstances beyond our control. These can include, for example, war, riot, industrial dispute, terrorist activity and its consequences, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, adverse weather conditions.
