WHY was the nileometer

invented? It was invented because the Ancient Egyptians wanted to know when

the Nile River to flood, so they could crop food. Growing food in

Ancient Egypt was important because the Ancient Egyptians

needed food to live. The nileometer was important to the Ancient

Egyptians because they needed to know when the Nile river would

flood because then, the flood would ruin the crops.
