If you are a music group, you have the unique opportunity to have your performed music added as the background audio for your video. The prices and events included in this proposal can only be confirmed upon receipt of a tour application and booking of activities. The price is subject to change according to the number of passengers. Air rates will not be available until 11 months prior to your departure. This estimated airfare is based on a rate available on 5/10/05, and includes estimated air taxes. Once we request and hold actual air space for your group, we will guarantee a fare two weeks prior to receiving your air deposit. Airfares are subject to airport tax increases until passengers are ticketed and paid in full. Please Note: Your initial invoices will show an estimated distribution of passengers at the quad, triple, double and single room rates, resulting in an estimated total balance. When we receive your final rooming list we will adjust your invoice to reflect your actual distribution and actual final balance. Your final balance must be paid in full 45 days prior to departure. Magic Music Days: The director must complete all audition packets for Magic Music Days. The application must be sent to Magic Music Days at least 2 months prior to the performance date requested.  Please note: **The tour price and itinerary are contingent upon the group’s acceptance into Magic Music Days.**  

Magic Music Days Disneyland Performance Audition Guide * Application Deadline: It is imperative that any group interested in performing as a part of Disney’s Magic Music Days submits all required performance material no later than 2 months prior to departure date. Acceptance into the program will determine the tour price, itinerary, and performance options. 

Step One: Take a Photograph of your group Consider your costuming as equally important to how your group plays, sings or dances, and select the following:   A formal, uniform look, including shoes    A style that is age appropriate and tasteful with respect to a family audience   Costumes that suit your music and choreography   Matching or complimentary attire for the director and accompanists, if applicable   A photo of your group in these costumes that was taken after January 1, 2002 Not acceptable on stage at the Disneyland Resort:   Denim or T-shirts, athletic shoes, sandals, tattered clothing or any unmatched or non-uniform styles in clothing or footwear   Bare feet, two piece costumes that show the stomach, suggestive necklines, short crop-top styles, miniskirts or other revealing costumes   Costume changes   Mascots or costumes that suggest the portrayal of any personality including Disney characters   Costumes that mask or cover the face If you are purchasing new costumes and do not have them at the time of application, please send a drawing of your proposed costume

Step Two: Make a Recording Prepare a video recording that reflects your group’s best performance skills. Your audition recording is evaluated using the following criteria: Sing musically with special attention to enunciation, intonation, balance and phrasing Maintain good posture, energy and stage presence Have appropriate content. Popular music may contain content, lyrics and references that are not appropriate at the Disneyland Resort. Airplay on mainstream radio stations does not ensure “G-Rated” content. Examples:   “Greased Lightning” from the “Grease” Soundtrack. This version contains explicit lyrics An adaptation without explicit lyrics is acceptable   “The Devil Went Down to Georgia” by the Charlie Daniels Band. This version contains explicit lyrics An adaptation without explicit lyrics is acceptable  “Genie in a Bottle” by Christina Aguilera. The original version contains inappropriate references An adaptation without inappropriate references is acceptable and ensure the quality of your recording   Chose a room with the best possible acoustics for your recording. The concert setting usually provides better acoustics than your rehearsal room   Use high grade equipment and a new video or audiotape   Start recording close to the beginning of the tape   Check your recording close to the beginning of the tape   Check your recording level to be sure playback is loud enough but not distorted   Record three or four short, upbeat selections that are representative of your intended performance.   Play back your entire tape to check your recording. You may wish to use it as an educational tool by having performers critique their audition before mailing it.   Cue the tape to the beginning

    *Prepare a list of your recorded selections in order and attach it to your tape

      *Label your tape with the name of your group

      *No adjudication or promotional videos can be accepted

• Audition material is evaluated using the following criteria:• Appearance: costume uniformity and creativity, suitability for

performance and for the Disney audience, cleanliness and grooming• Interpretation of Music and/or Choreography: Contribution to

overall show value through interpretation of music and/or choreography, facial expression, fluidity of movement, dynamics and phrasing

• Showmanship: ability to display a sense of flair, style and energy• Professionalism: level of professionalism displayed during performance• Technical Execution: level of technical achievement in music and/or

dance, including accuracy of notes and rhythms, precision of movement, intonation, dynamics and phrasing

• Show Content: effectiveness of program choice, including creativity, variety and suitability for a Disney audience

• Soloists (as applicable): Technical and interpretive ability or featured soloists

• Accompaniment (as applicable): overall quality of media or live accompaniment 

• Show Value: Overall effectiveness of the performance as a show element for Disneyland Resort Guests

• Blizzard BeachA ski resort was built after a freak Florida snowstorm, but it turned into a water park as soon as the snow began to melt! This Disney water adventure is a winter wonderland with some of the longest, tallest and most unbelievable rides! Rides include “Summit Plummet” a free-fall speed slide, “Teamboat Springs” a bobsled flume, and “Snow Stormers” a toboggan flume through slalom gates! If you’re looking for a tamer ride, try “Cross Country Creek’s” lazy tube ride or “Tikes Peak” offering big fun for little kids.

• Disney Quest Disney Quest is an indoor interactive theme park that combines Disney's magic with cutting-edge technology, such as virtual reality, to provide adventures for guests of all ages. In June of 1999, the flagship Disney Quest facility opened at the Walt Disney World® Resort in Orlando. Interactive rides include “Cyber Space Mountain” in which you design the roller coaster of your dreams or nightmares, then buckle up with a friend and ride your creation in a full 360-degree pitch-and-roll motion-based simulator. Gravity is no obstacle on this roller coaster in space.

• Downtown Disney Beyond the parks lies a world of entertainment with all the imagination, energy, and color you would expect from Disney. The newest entertainment area to explore is Downtown Disney, encompassing three unique areas: the eclectic West Side, with cutting-edge dining, one-of-a-kind shops, a music superstore, and 24 movie screens; Pleasure Island, where eight outrageous clubs spill out into a nonstop street party; and the Marketplace, a bustling shoppers' playground full of delightful restaurants and shops. Stroll along Disney's Boardwalk, a seaside celebration with shopping, dining, dancing, and a state-of-the-art sports bar.

• Typhoon Lagoon• A nasty typhoon swept through a 56-acre village tossing the shrimp boat, Miss Tilly, to

the summit of Mt. Mayday. Rebuilt into a dazzling watery playground, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park offers high-speed thrills in a beautiful tropical environment. Among the rides is “Typhoon Lagoon”, featuring the world’s largest inland surfing waves, “Humunga Kowabunga”, with two speed slides to shoot you through caves at 30 mph, and “Shark Reef”, where you can snorkel a coral reef teeming with sharks!

• Universal Studios This movie-based theme park opened in 1990. The largest motion picture facility outside of Hollywood, Universal Studios Florida has entertained and excited countless visitors over the years with over 40 incredible rides, shows, movie sets and attraction. It’s the only place on earth where you can go beyond the screen and actually Live The MoviesSM 

Terms and Conditions

• 1. Application Fee: A non-refundable application fee of $500.00 must accompany this application ($400.00 of the application fee will be applied to the payment of the tour.) 

• 2. Air Deposit• International:$100.00 per person air deposit due within 14 days of air space confirmation• Hawaii/Mexico: $100.00 per person air deposit due within 14 days of air space

confirmation• U.S./Canada: $50.00 per person air deposit due within 14 days of air space confirmation

• 3. Land Deposit • If tour package does include airfare, the following land deposit is required:• International: $100.00 per person land deposit due within 30 days of air space

confirmation • Hawaii/Mexico:$50.00 per person land deposit due within 30 days of air space

• 4. Payment Schedule: After air and land deposits have been submitted, the remaining balance is divided into four equal installments, to be made 135/105/75/45 days prior to departure. Hotel reservations, meals, transportation, and activities are subject to cancellation if payments are not received by their due dates. If Gateway Music Festivals & Tours, Inc. (Gateway) has not received payment in full 45 days prior to departure, Gateway reserves the right to cancel all arrangements and withhold all payments made. All payments must be made in United States currency, unless otherwise advised in writing by Gateway. Checks should be made payable to “Gateway Music Festivals and Tours, Inc.”

• 5. Air Price: Airfares quoted in proposals are estimated and cannot be confirmed until a deposit is paid and space is reserved. Airlines will not confirm space or fares until approximately eleven (11) months prior to the travel dates. Airfares quoted in proposals include estimated air taxes. Air taxes cannot be confirmed until air tickets are issued, approximately 45 days prior to departure.

• 6. Land Price: The land price includes the items listed in the “Inclusive Features” section of the proposal. The per person land price is based on a specific number of passengers as indicated in the proposal. If the number of passengers changes, the per person land price may be adjusted accordingly. International proposal prices are based on foreign exchange rates in effect on the date the proposal is sent. The land price will be finalized 45 days prior to departure, based on the number of passengers on the final rooming list and the foreign exchange rate at which Gateway made payments for the group’s services.

• 7. Air Cancellation Fees: With the exception of Hawaii, where a $50.00 cancellation fee is assessed from date of deposit, the initial air deposit is normally refundable up to four months (120 days) prior to departure. Certain airlines may charge a flat fee of up to $1,000.00 if the entire group cancels. If the group or an individual cancels between 119 days and 45 days before departure, the initial air deposit will be forfeited. Tickets are normally issued 45 days prior to departure. In most cases, tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable once issued.

• 8. Land Cancellations Fees: Up until 135 days prior to departure, Gateway will refund all land deposits with the exception of a flat cancellation fee of $1,000.00 if the entire group cancels, plus any additional vendors’ fees. Individual vendors may assess fees in addition to the standard cancellation fees listed below. If a replacement of the same gender is found and room block is not affected, cancellation fees may be reduced.

• Cancellation fees from 135 day until departure are as follows:• 135 – 106 days: 20% of land cost• 105 – 46 days: 40% of land cost• 45 – 16 days: 60% of land cost• 15 – Departure: 75% of land cost• 9. Last-Minute Passenger Additions: Any passenger added to the group within 45

days of departure will be assessed a surcharge of 20% of the quad rate in addition to any vendor fees or rate increases incurred by Gateway for the late passenger addition. In order to confirm the additional passenger, Gateway must receive written notification of the additional passenger's first and last name, an updated rooming list, flight manifest, coach list, and any meal or activity counts.

• 10. Travel Insurance: Gateway will provide your group with information about optional travel insurance to protect against cancellation, baggage loss, and medical expenses incurred during your tour. The cost of this insurance is not included in the proposal, unless otherwise noted, and must be purchased from Gateway.

• 11. Airline Obligations: The services of any ARC or IATA member airline may be used in connection with this tour. The responsibilities of the designated carrier in the operation of this tour are limited to the air transportation involved. Direct air carrier’s liability in the event of schedule changes, delays, loss of or damage to baggage or for death or injury to person or property, is subject to and limited by the terms of their applicable tariffs.

• 12. Air Deviations: Because special group fares are used in these proposals, no deviations will be allowed on the outbound journey. Passengers may deviate on the return, but airlines place certain restrictions on the number of passengers that may deviate. Gateway will charge a processing fee for each deviation in addition to any supplemental charges assessed by the airline.

• 13. Luggage: This proposal includes the cost of transporting one piece of checked luggage (not to exceed 62 linear inches or 70 pounds) and one carry-on piece (not to exceed 45 linear inches) while traveling on the airlines.

• 14. Itinerary Changes: The programs offered have been designed by Gateway months in advance of departure. Gateway shall have the right to alter, amend, or cancel such programs and to make any adjustments to the program cost prior to departure in order to meet unanticipated contingencies. Such changes shall not be grounds for cancellation without penalty. Participation in the program constitutes approval of the itinerary and program costs. Should conditions beyond the control of Gateway require that changes be made to the itinerary; Gateway will endeavor to provide alternate activities of an equal or higher value.

• 15. Festival Participation: If your proposal includes participation in a Music Festival, we will advise the status of that festival 90 days prior to departure. Should there be an insufficient number of groups to operate a festival; Gateway reserves the right to convert your package to a performance tour.

• 16. Events beyond Gateway’s Control: Gateway shall not be responsible for events beyond its control, such as, without limitation, acts of God, strikes, or governmental restrictions, or for acts of omissions of persons or companies not controlled by it, such as, without limitations, air carriers, bus companies, railways, and hotels. Gateway and its officers, directors, employees and agents are hereby released from all claims arising out of such events, acts, or omissions. 

• 17. Health and Safety Measures: Gateway shall have the right but not the duty, to take whatever actions it deems necessary in regard to the health and safety of any or all participants including, without limitation, obtaining medical treatment on their behalf and transporting them home for medical or other emergency reasons at the expense of the participant or their responsible party. For student groups: a minor may not be left unattended at any time, and the school or organization is responsible to assign someone to be present at all times.

• 18. Release: The organization/school and each participant therein agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Gateway Music Festivals & Tours, Inc. and its officers, directors, employees and agents from any financial liability or obligation incurred by either the school or any individual participant and from any injury or damage to the person or property of others which any participant causes or contributes to while participating in a Gateway program. By signing the application, the organization releases Gateway its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any and all causes of actions, claims and damages of any kind or nature whatsoever arising from any injury, loss, damage, costs, accident, delay, irregularity, or expense arising out of or in any way connected with the performances or operation of a Gateway program. This agreement/document shall be deemed executed in the State of Minnesota and construed according to the laws of the State of Minnesota.

Additional Terms for Student Groups: 

• 1. Program Participation: Each participant is expected to participate in all scheduled activities. The director and/or chaperones shall ensure that participants are present for all scheduled activities. Gateway is not responsible for any participant when absent from Gateway supervised activities.

• 2. Rules and Standards: Gateway shall have the right to enforce whatever reasonable group rules and standards are announced by Gateway. Such rules may include, without limitation, rules regarding attendance at meetings, daily curfew, dress standards, vulgar language, smoking, and behavior at the social activities. Gateway shall have the right to terminate the involvement of any tour participant who fails to comply with any such rules, and to send the participant home by the first available transportation at the expense of the participant or their responsible party.

 • 3. Alcoholic Beverages and Illegal Drugs: Participants under the age of twenty-

one are not permitted to use or have in their possession alcoholic beverages of any kind or illegal or narcotic drugs (other than those prescribed by a licensed physician). Possession of alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs is grounds for immediate dismissal. Gateway will send the participant home at the participant’s expense.

• Day 1 01 May 2006: Depart Halifax and arrive Orlando. Transfer to your hotel.

• Day 2 – Day 402 May 2006 – 04 May 2006: Disney World at your leisure.

• Day 505 May 2006: Transfer to Orlando airport for your flight home.

There are 2 types of Disney World Passes.  The Magic Pass is for only admission to one park per day excluding the water parks; it does not include transfers between the parks.  The Premium Pass permits access to all parks including water parks and includes transfers between the parks.  Everybody must have the same pass. The 4-Day Premium Pass will cost an additional $109.00 Canadian per person.
