Components of Visual Rhetoric…

• Color: What kinds of complementary colors did you use? What emotions do the colors suggest?

• Font: What message does your type send to your audience?

• Graphics: What illustrations best highlight the message of your brochure?

• Content: What specifics from the problem and the solution do you need in your brochure?

• Arrangement: How are the text and graphics arranged to best convey the message of your brochure?

Write a 1-2 Page Description…• How did you choose the colors you used in your brochure? What

makes these colors effective? How does your color choice enhance your brochure?

• How did you choose the font? How did you use font to illustrate different types of text? How does your font choice enhance your presentation?

• What essential elements of text create the content of your brochure? How did you choose the essential elements of your entire argument for this presentation? How effective are your text choices? Why?

• How did you choose the graphics for your brochure? What message are you sending with your graphics? What do your graphics do to enhance your information and the presentation of that information?

• Overall, what is effective about the arrangement of your visual presentation of this problem and solution? What do you want your audience to learn from this brochure?

• Accessibility:– Can I, as a reader, get to everything in the portfolio? – Did the writer make it easy for me, as the reader, to see all

sections and reflections in the portfolio?

• Reflection:– Has the writer honestly evaluated the portfolio? – Do the reflections reveal how the writer feels about this

portfolio?
