General prayers for each week

Monday

Praise Thank God for His faithfulness over the past 50 years. Give thanks for the thousands of children, families and elderly across Eastern Europe who have had needs met. Pray for God’s blessing to continue this work.

Wednesday

Bosnia-Herzegovina This country has experienced much trauma over the years and many long for stability. MWB staff work with numerous people who suffer. Please pray for more volunteers to increase the number of these healing relationships.

Tuesday

Albania MWB staff are using their country’s recent freedom to spread the Good News. Opportunities are boundless. Pray for this to continue.

Thursday

Bulgaria As Bulgaria emerges from communism, people’s lives are empty. Pray that the churches and all Christians will be able to demonstrate the light of Christ. New ventures are planned by MWB. Ask God to bless these.

Friday

Moldova Praise God for the good collaboration between MWB and local churches. Pray that they continue to build good links and for fruitful cooperation with local government.

Saturday

Romania In reaching people for Christ, the MWB team here has faced pressure to conform. Pray for guidance and wisdom as they deal with this.

Sunday

Ukraine Remember in your prayers those responsible for governing this large country. Pray that unity will prevail and that the needs of all the people will be paramount.

4–10 October

Supporters’ tour Thank God for those travelling to Ukraine (2–9 Oct). Ask for God’s protection, and for opportunities to build good relationships. Pray that the supporters will be enthused to share with others what they have seen.

11–17 October

Families and children We are so grateful for all our sponsors. We urgently need others to support families and children. Pray for more to become sponsors.

15–21 November

Family Care Ask God to grant wisdom and guidance to MWB staff and volunteers in selecting appropriate, deserving families. Pray too for adequate resources to be found.

22–28 November

Jubilee Bibles May this challenging target of delivering 1,000,000 Bibles be met. Continue to ask God to put it on people’s hearts to donate sufficient money.

6–12 December

Christian Radio Pray for the programmes based around Rivne. Of almost 600,000 people who can hear these, pray that many seek the Lord and find peace.

13–19 December

Bulgaria Pray for all churches here; that they may shine brightly for Christ, restoring hope to those who have lost it after years of communism.

20–26 December

Our supporters May we all prepare our hearts for the coming of our Saviour in glory, and rejoice that we are counted worthy to be his servants. Happy Christmas!

27 December – 2 January

Thanks May we thank you for your support. May the God of grace continue to pour out His blessing on you. Please also pray for the staff in MWB’s UK office: David, Simin, Stewart and Anne.

Ukraine Pray for the MWB staff here, especially Mykola Bogdanets who leads the work.

25–31 October

Present for the Future Please pray that the new edition of the gift catalogue is effective in providing gifts that make a lasting difference. We ask for God’s blessing on those receiving gifts.

1–7 November

Albania Remember Monika Qeremi and the MWB staff. Ask God to direct them to new ways of sharing the Good News.

8–14 November

Operation Christmas Love Pray for a good response to this appeal. Pray that the staff packing and distributing boxes will get everything done in time.

29 November – 5 December

Bulgaria Uphold MWB’s leader Sarkis Ovanesyan. Remember the team as they seek to demonstrate the love of God to the lost and lonely.

21–27 February

Feeding Centres As well as providing food, these are wonderful opportunities to share God’s love. Give thanks for the staff and volunteers operating this caring ministry.

3–9 January

Operation Winter Rescue Pray for a successful distribution of warm clothing, shoes and blankets to those most in need.

10–16 January

Romania Pray for the team led by Eugene Macavei. May he be guided in meeting new challenges, such as government cuts to childcare services, and changes in requirements for the Children’s Homes.

17–23 January

Bible Correspondence Courses Remember those who prepare the lessons and their students. Pray for many benefits from the personal contact and the seeds sown. May many come to faith in Christ.

24–30 January

Bosnia Pray for Dalibor Kojiҫ and the MWB staff, asking God to renew and empower them to reach out among their fellow Bosnians with the good news of Jesus.

14–20 February

Vocational training In Moldova’s capital, Chisinau, the Ghidighici Farm programme has gained Government approval for a new mechanics course. Pray for those leading the course and for the young people who enrol.

Moldova Remember Ion Groza and his team, who serve the Lord faithfully and who are always seeking new ways of expanding the work.

7–13 February

Outreach The puppet ministry is a valuable way of telling the Gospel to children. Pray for those using these tools to continue sharing the love of God innovatively.
