Musique Cordiale Academy 3 – 10 August 2013
Continuing the tradition of the Music Academy for young musicians as an
integral part of the annual International Musique Cordiale Music Festival,
this season we are offering an enhanced programme for young players of
orchestral instruments for capable students aged between 13 and 17. The
students will receive private instruction and coaching in chamber music. All
players will perform in a chamber music concert and the strings will perform
with the Musique Cordiale Orchestra, each student playing next to a
professional player. This will also allow students to collaborate with other
young musicians participating in Musique-Cordiale from several of the Arts
universities, conservatoires and music schools of Europe. (Main working
language will be English: French, Dutch & German also spoken. Voertaal is
Engels: Frans, Nederlands en Duits ook gesproken).
Application requirements:
• a completed application form and a 10-minute audition DVD or YouTube
video including 2 contrasting solos (or solo fragments) with accompaniment. • Deadline for the applications is usually 30 June though later applications
may be considered; but please contact us NOW if you are considering apply-
ing this year – and then apply as early as possible. •
The fee for the week, including meals and accommodation plus participation
in all events will be 500€ (possibility of bursaries available). Participants are
responsible for their own travel to Seillans, for all insurances and usually for
providing their instrument. In addition, you need to pay the 20€ annual mem-
bership fee. A deposit of 50€, which includes the non-returnable membership
fee, is payable on acceptance. For full conditions, please see the application
form.
