Returning to Music On The Divide for our season opener will be the celebrated Papa Oom Pah Pah Band from Nevada City. For the second year in a row this wonderful and lively group will fill the IOOF Hall with traditional German music, playing selections on saxophone, clarinet, trumpet, trombone, and of course, tuba!

There will be dancing and food, as well as local beer and wine available for purchase, as part of the “Oktoberfest” festivities. Concert goers are invited to come in their dirndls or lederhosen to add to the traditional atmosphere. If you missed all the fun last year, this is your opportunity to come out and have a rollicking good time!

The Roots of Music On The Divide Bob Toren was a devoted lover of music and the arts. He and his wife, Miriam, moved to The Divide from the San Francisco Bay Area in the mid-1980s. Music was a passion. Under the spreading oaks in their yard, concerts arranged for friends and neighbors became a tradition. In 1989 Bob was proud to be the

founding president of Music on The Divide and served as Program Chair for 12 years. Through the years, Bob and Miriam rarely missed a concert. “Life without music is a journey through the desert” he liked to say. Bob and Miriam are both gone now, but his legacy of making his part of the world a better place by filling it with music will live forever. Thank you Bob.
