Winning the critics’ choice award and setting 2011 off with a bang by entering the charts with his first single at #1 ‘Misstah Austin’ is set for success We ask the questions no one has yet, to find the truth

behind the music …

Growing up who would you say were you inspirations musically? Growing up in tough area music wasn’t widely available. We spent our days on street corners with just a boom box for company. I listened to music and artist I could relate to, artists with real stories to tell like eazy-e and biggie.

So would you say the environment you grew up in influenced your music?Yes, most defiantly. Music has been a big part of my life since I was born. From morning until night there would be music playing within the house. My mom would be cooking in the kitchen and jammin’.

Where do you get your love of music from?Music’s in my blood. From a young age within, my family I was surrounded by music. Wherever I would go I could hear music.

Where does the inspiration for the songs, lyrically come from? That all depends on the kind of mood I’m in. If I’m not in the best of moods then you can guarantee I’ll write aggressively but if I’m in a loving mood I’ll write loving songs. I use my past experiences, the things that have happened to me to make me who I am today. We are all here for a purpose and we all have a story to tell, Just I tell mine with a beat behind it and call it music

What is your favourite song of yours and why?‘If I don’t blow’ it was my first solo song, one that I worked very hard on to perfect; I re-recorded it 3 times and worked on it for months and months on end. This song expresses the way I feel about music. That it isn’t just a career, that’s its my life. Success or not music will stay a part of me forever, and this is what this song represents.

What do you want to achieve with your music, and throughout your career?I want to be successful and somehow change music for the future generation. I of course want to be remembered for selling millions of records, having sell out tours and achieve all the milestones and awards all music artists want to achieve but getting into this business wasn’t easy. Many children interested in music won’t have the opportunities I did, and that’s one thing I want and will change with my success.
