FRONT COVER MAGAZINE ANALYSIS

The front cover of this particular music magazine represents the artist and his genre of music very well.

The genre of this type of music is rap/Hip Hop, and the main image in particular represents this.

The artist is wearing a hood, which is commonly associated with someone is intimidating, or made to look intimidating, he looks aggressive and not to messed with.

He is also swearing at the camera, reinforcing his aggressive and anti-social behaviour. It also shows that he is rude and has no manners.

He also has a cigarette in his mouth, again, associated with someone who is made to look intimidating. The cover line also says ‘David Cameroon be very afraid’ this also shows his attitude towards the government and society is bad.

The background of the magazine adds to this affect, it’s a dark background, and looks like he is behind a fence of some kind. This adds to the effect that he is serious, and to be taken seriously. The fence could connote that he is loitering somewhere which ties in well with his anti-social behaviour.

All of this would appeal to his target audience as the genre of his music means that it is to taken seriously and not as a joke, and his audience will recognize this.
