TEAM MANAGER ATTRIBUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain a high level of communication between parents and

coaches, via email, phone if necessary

Responsible for finalizing team registration with Program and

Marketing Manager (docs for registration to TSSA)

Ensure all families meet their obligation to the club and team

(Financials, Uniforms, Documents, Volunteer Hours,

Expectations)

Prepare and distribute team roster (parent info, contact, etc.)

TEAM MANAGER ATTRIBUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Timely team communications with other teams regarding

game times, field assignments, directions.

Coordinates team volunteers such as: social committee, hotel

booking, bash tournament rep.

Coordinates with coach to schedule games and tournaments

and aids organizing parent meetings

Attends MSC trainings/meetings

Obtain ref assignments for home games c/o MSC Ref Assignor

TEAM MANAGER ATTRIBUTES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee tournament applications/registration (player cards,

directions, field assignments, parking fees, etc.)

Coordinates travel arrangements for overnight stays (unless

team has Travel Coordinator)

Obtain travel permits for out of state games, handles

paperwork for guest players

Coordinate fundraiser unless team has Fundraiser Coordinator

Work with treasurer & send monthly financials to all parents

TEAM MANAGER / TREASURER TO DO LIST

If a new team, obtain Fed Tax ID# to open checking account @

Pinnacle Bank – Memorial Blvd. c/o Zach Martin

Complete Risk Management (Background Check, Safesports, etc)

Coordinate with coach to schedule a team meeting

Assist team members to register online, order uniforms c/o gazelle

Collect signed medical releases, birth certificates, players photos and

upload to affinity – create a Team Manager Notebook

Coordinate with Treasurer and present budget for team dues.

If Club Fees and/or Team Dues have not paid in a timely manner,

player card will not be issued or will be pulled (including scholarship

players).

Report any red cards, concussions and inappropriate action of player, coach, or

parents to the select committee and doc

Make sure a team has a responsible adult at all team functions

Complete injury forms for injuries that occur during TSSA sanctioned events

within required time frame. TSSA does provide secondary insurance.

Report if any player leaving, return player card to Soccer Office

Send out monthly financial statements to parents.

PLAYER CARDS AND ROSTERS

Work w/MSC Soccer Office to create player cards & rosters

This will be done through affinity. MSC website under “MORE” section

Take a digital photo of each player and coach to be used on the cards

Upload players birth certificates & photos into the player’s record in affinity

Send an email to [email protected] to let her know team

information is uploaded and ready.

Allow for at least a 10 day turnaround.

Claire/Alan will contacted when your cards are ready for pickup.

You will receive 1 complete sets of cards. Player cards must be laminated.

PLAYER CARDS AND ROSTERS

Please do not lose your player cards and bring them to all games including

tournaments and scrimmages along with your printed roster.

Referees will not allow anyone to participate in a game without a

laminated player cards and roster

Cards needed for individual players added after your team’s initial run of

cards will require additional processing.

Turnaround time is dependent upon multiple factors including completion

of the player’s registration by the parent.

Generally, affinity will only accept new player uploads once a week on

Thursday. It can still take two to three days after the upload to complete the

process. Given the affinity timeline, you cannot get a card the next day!!!

REFS and ARBITER SYSTEM

All team managers need access to www.arbitersports.com to

request referees for games

$10.00 assignor fee is required for all friendly games scheduled.

Refs for state league games are scheduled by TSSA. Managers do

not schedule refs for these games. TSSA league assignor will

generally contact you by email to confirm the date, location, etc.

CLUB FEES VS. TEAM DUES

TEAM DUES

Team Manager, Treasurer, and Coach(es) need to configure a

budget for the team (all possible expenses for the team(s)

Common expenses that should be considered include:

Tournaments / League Fees, Referee Fees, Indoor Rental,

Coach Travel Reimbursement, Coach(es) Gift (if agreed)

Team Manager/Treasurer should determine the amount of

monthly team dues. Team budget and basis for monthly team

dues should be shared with all parents of the team.

Team bank accounts should be at pinnacle bank.

All treasurers should submit periodic financial reports to MSC

COACH TRAVEL REIMBURSEMENT

All travel related expenses must

be discussed with the coach(es)

and team before expenses are

incurred.

When possible, MSC encourages

coaches to stay with the team at

the same hotel in an effort to

reduce the expenses on the

team budget.

When possible, coaches should

be paid by check, before the

weekend. Avoid giving coaches

cash for expenses. Retain all

documentation for payments.

STATE LEAGUE PLAY

There are three levels of select soccer – Division 1, 2, and 3

The MSC DOC and coach(es) will determine the most appropriate level of play

12U (Pool 1) and 13U above teams that desire to compete at the Division 1 or 2

or 3 must complete a TSSA State League Application and Pay necessary Fees

The deadline for state league applications is due on July 18, online application,

rules, and fee amount, visit www.tnsoccer.org and click on the state league tab

Depending on the number of teams that apply, you will be required to play

multiple state league games if competing in Division 1, 2 and 3.

After the state league application deadline, team managers will receive

information from TSSA with details and they will assist with scheduling.

D1 and D2, 13U and 14U boys and girls play year round state league, with state

cup in the spring. D3 will only play during the spring season for boys and girls.

STATE LEAGUE and STATE CUP DATES

FALL 2021 State League Application Deadline:

July 18th

FALL 2021 State Cup Dates:

October 30th – 31st and November 6th – 7th

SPRING 2022 State League Application Deadline:

December 17th

SPRING 2022 State Cup Dates:

May 21st – 22nd and May 28th – 29th

OTHER MISCELLANOUS RESPONSIBILITIES

UNIFORMS: Players are responsible for ordering uniforms after TMs assign them a

jersey #. Link to order uniforms is on MSC website under Gear/Select Uniforms

Training Shirt Policy for FA 21 – SP 22: Each player must purchase new MSC

training shirt as a required item. Coaches/Teams may require to utilize a matching

color short and socks to each training session.

VOLUNTEERS: All MSC families are expected to volunteer for 4 shifts per player for

each season. 2 shifts by Dec 15th and 2 shifts to be completed by June 1st.

MSC will create sign up information for each event, but team managers are

requested to track and make sure each family meets their obligation to the club. The

team manager should file a volunteer report to the Volunteers Committee Chair on

Jan 15th and June 15th. All volunteer hours must be completed before the end of the

season.

OTHER MISCELLANOUS RESPONSIBILITIES

KROGER COMMUNITY REWARDS: MSC receives its portion of rewards from enrollees that list

Murfreesboro Boys and Girls Soccer Association as their reward organization.

TOPSOCCER - The Outreach Program for Soccer

A mission to make soccer available for kids with special needs.

MSC’s TOPSOCCER is managed by club volunteers, and is a free

program where volunteers ("buddies”) assist players with special

needs and form bonds around the love of the world's most popular

sport.
