DREAMERS AND ACHIEVERS

INTRODUCTION

“Dream is not that what you see in sleep, dream is the thing which does not allow you to sleep”

“A dreamer is one step behind the achiever, and the achiever was once a dreamer.”

Your dreams make the way for your achievements.

So being a dreamer is the best because u simply have to dream.. For example u may dream of becoming miss world or a famous personality.

Dreams have always been something of a common word for those who want to achieve something. These types of dreams can either be achieved or not depending on the individual.

Page 3: Web viewHis ancestors, who were Kashmiri Brahmins, ... With his poetry, Iqbal unveiled this word and also urged Muslims to be prepared for it,

A person in his starting phase is called a dreamer because he has come up with a dream but that same person can be called an achiever only if he goes the extra mile to achieve it.

It take time, effort, focus and hard work to get the title of an achieve

Patterns can be read. Some common images seen in dreams may have different meanings to the person. In some cases, this could pose as a sign whether an upcoming activity will go smoothly, or otherwise. In order to become an achiever, one must act because an undertaking will not happen if no one works on it. Whether the undertaking succeeds or not, it is the effort that counts.

So here are four famous personalities of the world from different fields of life who have achieved theirs dreams and goals.

NELSON MANDELA

Page 5: Web viewHis ancestors, who were Kashmiri Brahmins, ... With his poetry, Iqbal unveiled this word and also urged Muslims to be prepared for it,

He was born on 18 JULY, 1918 in Transkel.

Mandela had to face adversity from the very beginning. Growing up in South Africa under the Apartheid system of 0government meant these things, and worse, were part of daily life. A country where drinking out of the wrong water fountain might get you thrown into jail; where a man might have the very same job as his neighbor, but because of the color of his skin, get paid less in a year than the other man made in a week; where the government told you that your ancestors and their ways of living were wrong and savage and not even human.

. But Nelson Mandela was a fighter. He made a goal to shake off the white man s dominance and demanded for non racial democracy. Instead of bowing down to this unjust system of government, he became a lifelong warrior in the battle to free South Africa.

Starting out as a leader of an underground political movement called the African National Congress (ANC), Mr. Mandela played a part in many dramatic demonstrations against the white-ruled government.

His career in the ANC was cut short in 1964 when he was sentenced to life in prison. The notorious Rivonia Trial, as his sentencing was called, is now seen as nothing more than a cruel ploy used by the white South African government to silence

Nelson Mandela once and for all. But even while in prison, Mandela continued to be a beacon of hope for his people who carried on the struggle against Apartheid in his absence. In 1990, after 27 years of imprisonment, Mandela was freed. His release marked the beginning of the end for apartheid. In less than five years after his release, Mandela was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize and elected president of South Africa.

Today, thanks to the self-sacrifice of Nelson Mandela, apartheid has been outlawed. Everyone in South Africa now has an equal opportunity at home and at work to live comfortable, productive lives. Nelson Mandela is one of the world's true freedom fighters, and his life and personal triumphs will be remembered long after the world has forgotten the evils of Apartheid.

Nelson Mandela's book, Long Walk to Freedom tells the extraordinary story of his life, an epic of struggle, setback, renewed hope, and ultimate triumph.

"I have walked that long road to freedom. I have tried not to falter; I have made missteps along the way. But I have discovered the secret that after climbing a great hill, one only finds that there are many more hills to climb. I have taken a moment here to rest, to steal a view of the glorious vista that surrounds me, to look back on the distance I have come. But I can rest only for a moment, for with freedom comes

responsibilities, and I dare not linger, for my long walk is not yet ended."

Nelson achieved his goal of shaking off the white man s dominance and demanded for non racial democracy. Few could doubt the Nelson Mandela political achievements. Mandela is a man who stood firm and took his country from the extremes of apartheid through to democracy. For this he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize (1993). He has achieved more than this though.

Today, thanks to the self-sacrifice of Nelson Mandela, apartheid has been outlawed. Everyone in South Africa now has an equal opportunity at home and at work to live comfortable, productive lives. Nelson Mandela has received more than 250 awards that are in every way honorable. Keys to cities, and honorary degrees are among them, along with the peace prize.

In any Nelson Mandela interview you will find him to be a man of humor, honesty and humility. These are great attributes in any man, but Mandela can be considered among the greats.

One of those greats was Gandhi. Perhaps people can see something similar in Nelson Mandela and Gandhi. Mandela paid tribute to Gandhi with these words: "He dared to exhort nonviolence in a time when the violence of Hiroshima and Nagasaki had exploded on us; he exhorted morality when science, technology and the capitalist order had made it redundant; he replaced self-interest with group interest without minimizing the importance of self. India is Gandhi's

HELLEN KELLER

Page 11: Web viewHis ancestors, who were Kashmiri Brahmins, ... With his poetry, Iqbal unveiled this word and also urged Muslims to be prepared for it,

Helen was born in Tuscumbia, Alabama, on July 27, 1880. She was a bright and healthy child, but at the age of 19 months she became very ill and almost died. Luckily, she survived, but her life was changed forever- she was blind and deaf. Her disabilities seemed to cut her off from the world forever. Helen Keller was a very bright, sensitive, and determined woman.

Without a sight or sound, how could she communicate and learn?

'' The mystery was revealed to me. I then knew that 'w-a-t-e-r' meant the wonderful cool something that was flowing over my hand. That living word awakened my soul, gave it light, joy, set it free!!!!!.''

Helen Keller was a very bright, sensitive, and determined woman. The most remarkable thing about her was that even though she had two disabilities, she never gave up and lived a very successful life. She dedicated her life to helping people, and her greatest achievement was proving to the world that even with disabilities, anyone can achieve his or her dreams.

Soon, she forgot the words she had learned as a toddler. She became very frustrated trying to speak and be understood. Since her family spoiled her because they felt sorry for her, she would throw tantrums to get her way and eventually grew wild. Helen never brushed her hair, threw objects, walked around eating off people's plates, and even locked her mother in the pantry. At the age of seven, Helen's family was desperate for help and hired Anne Sullivan as a private tutor. She was a teacher at the Perkins School for the Blind in Boston. "Teacher," as Helen called her, got her under control, taught her and helped her to understand how to communicate with her fingers. Helen attended Perkins School for the Blind with Anne, where she learned quickly and

had an exceptional memory for details. It was there where she was known as "Miracle Child." She later graduated from Radcliffe College in 1904 with honors. She spent the rest of her life traveling the world and lecturing and raising money for the handicapped. She wrote a book about her life, and the play "The Miracle Worker" by William Gibson, won the Pulitzer Prize and was later a movie. On June 1, 1968, she died at the age of 87 while napping.

Though Helen Keller seems powerful and intense in a quiet sort of way she is really quite soft, sentimental and vulnerable inside.

Helen has powerful emotional attachments to the past, her family, her childhood, places she associates with safety and security, and her beginnings. It is very important to Keller to maintain a connection with her roots and heritage and keep family bonds strong. Loyal, devoted, and sentimental, Keller tends to cling to whatever is dear to her - be it a person, a familiar place, or a cherished possession.

She is sympathetic, nurturing, supportive and very sensitive to the emotional needs of other people. Helen likes to be needed and to care for others, and she often worries about the people she loves. Helen Keller has a very strong need for a sense of belonging and acceptance, and much of her life centers on her home. She is more concerned about people and their feelings than with power, achievement, or position in society. Kindness, consideration and tenderness are more meaningful to Helen Keller than any sort of honor the world can bestow.

She is primarily emotional and her views are often dominated by her feelings and her own personal, subjective experiences, rather than reason, logic or abstract principles. It is difficult for her to judge situations fairly and objectively because her personal sympathies and

loyalties usually factor in. Helen Keller takes things very personally and sometimes builds a wall around her to shield herself from pain and rejection. Helen Keller feels rather shy and vulnerable at heart. She also tends to be moody and experiences frequent mood swings. Helen Keller needs to have a place and time in her life to withdraw, introspect, dream and replenish herself; otherwise Helen Keller becomes cranky and unhappy with those around her.

Helen Keller functions in an instinctive, irrational manner and likes to immerse herself in creative activities where she can express her feelings, imagination and instincts. Keller often loves to cook, since it can be both creative and a way to nurture and nourish others. Helen Keller also has a great affinity for music, because it evokes communicates feelings that may be difficult or impossible to put into words.

Her compassion, sensitivity, and imagination are Keller's strong points. Her faults include an inability to let go of the past and move forward, clannishness and prejudice, and a tendency for self-pity when facing hardship.

Helen Keller craves intense experiences and is attracted to aspects of life that are strange, unfathomable, or taboo. She may hide her interests or inclinations, except from those who know Helen very intimately. Helen Keller is rarely content with herself and her life, and she has an inner urge to be continually going farther or deeper than her ever have before. Helen has also a strong interest in social power and the role that money and economics play in people's lives.

Helen Keller is loving and well loved by others, and has a strong need for relationships that offer kindness, friendship and affection. Her

artistic and creative powers are also well developed and Helen does everything in a harmonious, gracious, pleasing manner. Aesthetics are very important to Keller, as are her personal appearance and attractiveness.

She is an original! Helen Keller radiates a sort of electrical excitement about the things she is interested in, and conveys this to others, but she also gets bored rather quickly. Helen does not mind being a bit unusual or breaking a few rules either.

Her vitality is very strong and she is likely to be a workaholic. If Helen Keller is not careful, she may work so hard that she becomes exhausted, leaving herself open to physical breakdown. Helen Keller also has a strong drive to win and to dominate others.

Keller went on to become a world-famous speaker and author. She is remembered as an advocate for people with disabilities amid numerous other causes. She was a suffragette, apacifist, an opponent of Woodrow Wilson, a radical Socialist, and a birth control supporter. In 1915, Helen Keller and George Kessler founded the Helen Keller International (HKI) organization. This organization is devoted to research in vision, health and nutrition. In 1920, she helped to found the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). Keller and Sullivan traveled to over 39 countries, making several trips to Japan and becoming a favorite of the Japanese people. Keller met every US President from Grover Cleveland to Lyndon B. Johnson and was friends with many famous figures, including Alexander Graham Bell, Charlie Chaplin, and Mark Twain.

ALLAMA IQBAL

Iqbal was born in the Punjab on February 22, 1873. His ancestors, who were Kashmiri Brahmins, had embraced Islam two hundred years earlier. Iqbal’s own father was a devout Muslim with Sufistic bent of mind.

Page 16: Web viewHis ancestors, who were Kashmiri Brahmins, ... With his poetry, Iqbal unveiled this word and also urged Muslims to be prepared for it,

Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal envisioned a sovereign and independent state for the Muslims of Sub-continent. A state where Islamic teachings will establish the core ideology, a way of life and socio-politico-economic system, practiced as the true religion and celebrated as the ideal way of life. His vision was not merely a dream rather it was a divine invocation, an order from the spiritual domain, which was destined, to be executed,

Which already had Almighty’s approval, which He brought into existence for a special purpose.

The personality appointed by Almighty to propagate the underlying ideology, which ultimately laid the foundation of Pakistan, was Allama Iqbal. He was more than a scholar, more than a philosopher, more than a saint and much more than a visionary. We cannot attempt to sum up in one article what this legend really was, since he himself once said, “Iqbal himself isn’t aware of what Iqbal really is”. What we know and should always remember is that he was the one who ignited the spark of self-awareness in the Muslims of Sub-continent, who infused the passion to acquire freedom and

independence in the blood of Muslim youth of the time. He was who unveiled the true meaning and spirit of Islam and hope in the otherwise pessimistic minority.

“Kia ajab meri nawa-haaye sahar gaahi say

Zinda ho jaye woh aatish kai teri khaak mein hai”

Allama Iqbal uplifted the spirits of Muslims at the time of great misery and darkness. At a time when the nexus of Hindus and the British rulers was leaving no stone unturned to damage Muslims, deploying all the resources and means to malign the Muslim identity and exerting full force to crush them as an ideological nation. The deceitful British rulers had no intention of doing any good to Muslims and instead they connived with Hindus to throw the Muslim nation in front of the Hindu scavengers as a helpless prey.

Allama Iqbal’s poetry was the divine voice from the sky that was channelized through Iqbal’s soul, it came as the

Page 18: Web viewHis ancestors, who were Kashmiri Brahmins, ... With his poetry, Iqbal unveiled this word and also urged Muslims to be prepared for it,

true reflection of the message of Islam. The incredible message that revitalized the uncivilized Arabs, the message that triggered burning passion in the hearts of the Muslims of Sub-continent, infusing them with paramount courage. Allama Iqbal was most certainly the chosen one who was assigned the duty to rejuvenate the nation and to convey the glad tidings about the creation of Pakistan as a Muslim State.

He made Muslims realize, what they actually are, what their true stature is and that they shouldn’t be overwhelmed by any kind of complex, fear and frustration:

“Apni Millat par qayaas aqwaam-e-maghrib say na kar

Khaas hai tarkeeb mein qaum-e-Rasool-e-Hashmi”

“Un ki Jamiat ka hai mulk-o-nasb par inhesaar

Qoowat-e-Mazhab say mustahkam hai jamiat teri”

Page 19: Web viewHis ancestors, who were Kashmiri Brahmins, ... With his poetry, Iqbal unveiled this word and also urged Muslims to be prepared for it,

He imparted the message of hope and belief, the message of oneness of the Muslim nation and gathered the confused, scared and scattered Muslims on a single platform:

“Millat kai saath raabta istawaar rakh

Paywasta reh shajar say umeed-e-bahar rakh”

“Fard qaim rabt-e-millat say hai tanha kuch nahin

Mauj hai darya mein bayroon-e-darya kuch nahin”

He likened Muslim youngsters with “Shaheen” (Falcon) and gave them the inspiration to have the vision, the flight, the character and the attitude of a Falcon. He established that this character and attitude would actually enable them to reach their destiny, to achieve what they deserve and to regain their lost glory.

“Tu Shaheen hai Parwaaz hai kaam tera

Page 20: Web viewHis ancestors, who were Kashmiri Brahmins, ... With his poetry, Iqbal unveiled this word and also urged Muslims to be prepared for it,

Tere saamnay aasmaan aur bhi hai”

“Nahin tera nasheman qasr-e-sultani kai gumbad par

Tu Shaheen hai basera kar pahaarhoon ki chatanon mein”

Iqbal then led the Muslims towards even broader scope and higher goal. He was a visionary, an ideologue and a foreseer, He saw it long ago that the Islamic empire will be resurrected yet again, no matter what happens, no matter how adverse would apparently be the conditions for Muslims, no matter what the elite of the world plans, he had his faith in just one fact that Allah is the best of all planners. He was convinced that the Almighty has decided for this nation to rise again and this time it will be in the true spirit of Islam.

He further saw, even before the creation of Pakistan that the Muslims of this Islamic state to be established in the sub-continent will ultimately lead this rise of Islam. It is

Page 21: Web viewHis ancestors, who were Kashmiri Brahmins, ... With his poetry, Iqbal unveiled this word and also urged Muslims to be prepared for it,

their destiny and a duty that has been assigned to this nation. With his poetry, Iqbal unveiled this word and also urged Muslims to be prepared for it, get ready for it and to work towards achieving it:

“Sabaq phir parh, Sadaqat ka, Adalat ka, Shuja’at ka

Lia jaye ga tujh say kaam dunia kia imaamat ka”

“Yaqeen afraad ka sarmaaya-e-tameer-e-millat hai

Yehi qoowat hai jo soorat gar-e-taqdeer-e-millat hai”

At one point, Pakistan Movement was surrounded by total frustration and despair. Muhammad Ali Jinnah was so disheartened that he flew to London and settled there leaving everything behind. It was Allama Iqbal who gave him the spiritual inspiration that he needed and brought him back. It was Iqbal’s spiritual support and presence in the background, which transformed Muhammad Ali Jinnah into Quaid-e-Azam.

Page 22: Web viewHis ancestors, who were Kashmiri Brahmins, ... With his poetry, Iqbal unveiled this word and also urged Muslims to be prepared for it,

Allama Iqbal left this world in 1938, about 9 years before Pakistan’s creation, but his poetry had already set the Muslim souls on fire and ignited burning flames of love in the hearts and complete devotion to achieve the impossible, do the unthinkable.

Pakistan resolution was passed in Lahore in 1940 and an independent, sovereign state for the Muslims of Sub-continent came into being on August 14, 1947. It was just 17 years after Iqbal dreamt about it and transfused the vision in Muslims. Almighty blessed us with the gift of Pakistan where Muslims could live with peace, harmony and freedom and practice the religion of Islam in its true sense.

Unfortunately, Iqbal’s dream was only partially realized ever since independence. We were blessed with a sacred Islamic state but we converted into a mere piece of land. Since the time of its inception till today, we have been unable to take Pakistan to the heights it deserved; we couldn’t make it the fortress of Islam. We hadn’t

Page 23: Web viewHis ancestors, who were Kashmiri Brahmins, ... With his poetry, Iqbal unveiled this word and also urged Muslims to be prepared for it,

established the systems on the basis of Islamic teachings, and as a result, Pakistan ended up as a state with injustice, conflicts, economic and social problems, resource misuse and mismanagement, corrupt leaders and bad governance.

Pakistan was hence created but never completed or ‘realized’. The people of Pakistan have been waiting for a time when the dreams that were seen at the time of its creation, will come true. They have been waiting for a system that would facilitate them, an environment that will liberate them from their troubles and desolation.

That wait is about to be over! The winds of change have already started to blow. The scenario is changing and the dynamics of the state are taking the right direction! The Shaheens of Iqbal have finally awakened. They have realized what went wrong with their country and how to correct it. They have understood what Pakistan was meant to be and what the traitors and disloyal people along with their foreign masters are trying to transform it

Page 24: Web viewHis ancestors, who were Kashmiri Brahmins, ... With his poetry, Iqbal unveiled this word and also urged Muslims to be prepared for it,

into. The youth of Pakistan is now recognizing, why our enemies fear Pakistan and why they want to destabilize it. They are afraid of the potential of the Muslims of Pakistan, but ultimately they are scared of its destiny.

Very close to his last days, Iqbal wrote his masterpiece “Iblees ki Majlis-e-Shura” (Devil’s advisory council). He said:

“Hai Khatar koi mujh ko to is ummat say hai

Jis ki khaakister mein hai ab tuk Sharaar-e-Aarzoo”

“Asr-e-haazir kai taqazaaon say hai lekin yeh khuaf

Ho na jaye aashkaara Shar’a-e-Paighambar kaheen”

All sorts of efforts are being made and conspiracies have been crafted to curb the potential of Pakistan. But as Iqbal predicted, a wave of self-realization is propagating across the country. Despite all the frustration, problems,

Page 25: Web viewHis ancestors, who were Kashmiri Brahmins, ... With his poetry, Iqbal unveiled this word and also urged Muslims to be prepared for it,

evil designs of both internal and external elements, the awakening is happening.

“Millat-e-Bayza ki phir sheeraza bandee hai

Shakh-e-Hashmi karnay ko hai phir barg-e-bar paida”

“Ata momin ko phir dargah-e-haq say honay wala hai

Shikoh-e-Turkamani, zehen-e-Hindi, nutq-e-Araabi”

We, the youth of Pakistan are now geared up with all our passion to realize the unfulfilled part of Iqbal’s dream. We now stand together to serve, build, protect and defend our beloved Pakistan. Our elders brought Pakistan into existence by Allah’s will after countless sacrifices and we are also ready to shed our lives for our country if need be.

On this day, we promise Hakeem-ul-Ummat, our spiritual leader, guide and mentor, Allama Iqbal, that we’ll bring

Page 26: Web viewHis ancestors, who were Kashmiri Brahmins, ... With his poetry, Iqbal unveiled this word and also urged Muslims to be prepared for it,

his mission to accomplishment. We will do anything to take Pakistan to its destiny. We will do what we can to put in place the system the ideology on the basis of which Pakistan was created. We’ll put in all efforts to bring justice, peace, harmony and prosperity to our beloved land in accordance with our religious teachings.

We promise that we will prepare Pakistan to take up its fated role in the world and we will Insha’Allah take Pakistan towards its ultimate Takmeel.

“Aflaak say ata hai naaloon ka jawaab aakhir
