The Munster Juniors Chess Championships (ODD age groups) were held in The Southcourt Hotel in Limerick city on Sunday, 25-November, 2018. Up to 86 entries were taken (65+ were hoped for), and a few couldn't make it on the day.

Limerick City

Every year since 2004, The Munster Junior Chess Committee (MJCC) has run Munster Provincial Chess tournaments, and this year an odd ages one was being run for the 3rd time. The age groups included … u7s, u9s, u11s, u13s, u15s, u17s, u19s.

Munster and non-Munster winners: Only Munster resident players could win a title, but any non-Munster player finishing ahead of a Munster prizewinner was entitled to a prize, but not a Titlt.

Special thanks to the Munster Junior Chess Committee (MJCC) for all their help going back several months – Sean Phillips, Ryan Fitzgerald, Keith O'Rahilly, Mikhail Ramendik, Gabriel Mirza and John Alfred.

Chess sets were provided by John Alfred, who also controlled the event.We now have our own Fide Clocks

Players came from all over Munster; Limerick, Cork, Waterford, Newcastle West, Adare, Ennis, Mallow, Shannon, Kilrush, etc, etc

Age groups u13's, u15's, u17's and u19's were combined in one section due to low numbers.
