TC chamber machines
The TC range of chamber machines for the packing of sterile medical
items is equipped with sealing bars which can be permanently heated
and temperature controlled. This permits the qualifi cation and valida-
tion of the sealing process by which reliable, measurable and reproduc-
ible sealing results are attained. A comprehensive range of equipment
options ensures maximum pack security and a seamless documenta-
tion of the processes and process parameters, precisely tailored to your
individual requirements.
AGV
The AGV is suitable for the packing of products in upright bags. It is
equipped with a vacuum chamber which is opened from the side and a
height adjustable roller conveyor. In addition an anti-tipping bag holder
ensures a secure packaging process and a crease-free seal.
Shrink equipment and drying tunnels
For the production of shrink packs we offer semi-automatic
shrink tanks as well as fully automatic shrink tunnels. With
all models the shrink time can be controlled individually for
perfect and reproducible package results. MULTIVAC shrink
units can be combined with thermoforming packaging
machines, conveyor belt machines and drying tunnels.

Labelling and coding systems
The printing and labelling units from MULTIVAC are suitable for
a wide spectrum of applications, both within the packaging line
and beyond. Our labelling and coding systems ensure trend-
setting precision, reliability and quality.
Labelling of thermoformed packs
For the labelling of your products on a thermoforming packaging
machine we offer a selection of two product ranges, the classic
cross web labeller and the new patented Xbelt™.
Xbelt™
The MULTIVAC Xbelt™ applies labels from a transfer belt onto the
packs running underneath it. In this way it manages without a
labeller indexing unit. That means: reduced space requirement,
better access and a plus in terms of hygiene and safety.

Labelling and coding systems
Direct web printers
The direct web printers in the MR290 series are the ideal coding sys-
tem when variable data have to be printed directly onto the packaging
fi lm. Barcodes, logos, text, sell-by dates, batch numbers - all these
types of data can be applied fl exibly and individually. Depending on
application and requirement hot foil units or thermal transfer and inkjet
printers from leading manufacturers are available.
Top fi lm coding before sealing
The MR293, MR295, MR296 and MR298 direct web printing systems
offer the opportunity to print the top fi lm of thermoformed packs
before the sealing station with a high quality individual layout. Depend-
ing on the specifi c customer requirement a selection can be made
between intermittently or continuously operating printers with longitu-
dinal or cross machine print directions.
Top fi lm coding of packs
The MR292 IK and MR299 IK direct web printing systems can be easily
integrated into thermoforming packaging machines. The MR292 IK is a
stationary unit for the coding in fi lm running direction of sealed packs
in 1 to 4 track format. The MR299 IK indexing system for 1 or 2 inkjet
print heads guarantees a precisely positioned coding of the fi nished
packs in multi-track and multi-row formats with longitudinal or cross
machine print directions.
Bottom fi lm coding of packs
With the MR297 IK direct web printing systems your packs can be
coded quickly and fl exibly from below with an inkjet printer.

Inspection systems
MULTIVAC offers highly developed systems for pack inspection
and quality control. Even at the highest speeds they operate
with absolute precision and reliability, something which quali-
fi es them in particular for inclusion in automatic packaging
lines. With our systems for pack inspection and quality control
you can be sure that your products meet the highest quality
and safety standards.
Visual inspection
The MULTIVAC Vision System (MVS)
is an innovative image processing
system for a wide range of detection
and inspection applications. In auto-
mated packaging lines it makes it
possible to achieve 100 per cent
quality control with maximum accu-
racy even at high speeds.
Check weighers
Automatic check weighers calculate the pack weight precisely
and reliably, they reject as required under- and overweight packs
and make a signifi cant contribution to maintaining internal quality
guidelines and legal requirements. Our check weighers are avail-
able in two basic versions which are optimally designed for
different requirements.
Seal testers
The seal tester checks the seal integrity of sealed packs on a
continuous basis without interruption of production. In this way
you can ensure objectively and verifi ably that only hermetically
sealed packs remain within the packaging process.

Foreign body detection
MR831 metal detectors
The MULTIVAC metal detector MR831 is an IFS compatible All-Metal-
Detector which does justice to the highest standards in terms of sensi-
tivity, appropriate hygienic design and operating control. It is available as
a universal stand-alone unit or as part of an integrated packing solution
with MULTIVAC packaging machines.
MR811 X-ray inspection system
The MR811 X-ray inspection system detects safely and reliably the
smallest foreign bodies such as metals, glass, stones, bone fragments
and dense plastics in food and medical products as well as industrial
and consumer goods. In addition to a seamless quality control the X-ray
inspection system also provides a checking process for the shape,
density and integrity of products.

MULTIVAC offers a diverse range of line modules for handling
and channelising which are tailored to your products and your
specifi c requirements.
Handling modules
The handling modules from MULTIVAC quickly and accurately
automate a wide spectrum of handling tasks such as the loading
of products, the channelising of packs, the picking out of faulty
packs or the orientation and transfer of fi nished packs. They
are fl exible in their installation and can be used for a variety of
products, pack formats, weights and cycle times. Depending
on the size of the working area, the functions required and the
necessary output there are a number of different variants avail-
able with two, three or four axes. Thanks to the uniform hygienic
design and the FDA compliant stainless steel construction
MULTIVAC handling modules can be used for all products and
in all production environments.
Handling modules are controlled directly at the operating terminal
of the packaging machine or, if required, they can be equipped
with their own separate controls.

Handling modules, line control
MBS
MULTIVAC conveyor systems automate
effi ciently and hygienically the channelising of
packs from multi-track packaging systems
such as thermoforming packaging machines.
With our wide range of conveyor systems we
can fulfi l all your product and packaging speed
requirements. At the same time our conveyor
systems also enable defective packs to be
ejected from the line on an individual row
basis.
Line control
With the MULTIVAC Line Control (MLC) you can coordinate centrally the
control of the components of your packaging line. The MLC system
ensures time-optimised, precise, reproducible and transparent processes
and is easy to operate. The many different functions of this overriding
control unit include.
· coordination of the line function elements
· product tracking
· linking to a Manufacturing
Execution System (MES)
· product handling and changeover
· linking to an Enterprise Resource
Planning System (ERP) for job management
as well as to systems for machine and
operating data capture.
