FunctionPrecision multiple limit switches possess several switching elementsarrangedinarow.Thespacingbetweentheindividualswitchingpositionsof12mmand16mmisstandardizedinaccordancewithDIN43697.Therangeiscompletedwithaparticularlycompact,space-savingversionwithaspacingof8mm.Theswitchingelementsareactuatedbymeansofplungers.Thisactionis achieved with trip dogs in accordance with DIN69639, which aremountedwithan interferencefit in trip railsaccording toDIN69638(seeseparatepage35).

DesignDepending on the technical requirements in terms of switching pointaccuracyandapproachspeed,fourfunctionallydifferentplungertypes(chisel,roller,ballanddomedplungers)areused.Dependingontheplungertype,thereproducibleswitchingpointaccuracyis±0.002mmandthemaximumapproachspeedis120m/min.Theprecisionmultiplelimitswitchescanbeassembledwithsnap-actionand safety switching elements, or also in combination with inductiveswitchingelements.Themechanicallifeoftheswitchingelementsamountsto30x106mechanicaloperatingcycles.EUCHNERusesthehigh-qualityandprovenacrylonitrile-butadienerubber(NBR) forallsealsandsealedareas.Thismaterial is resistant tooils,greases, fuels, hydraulic fluids and most known cooling lubricants.Moreover,NBRpossesseshighmechanicalrigidityoverawidetemperaturerangeandsoitisperfectlysuitableforthehighlystresseddiaphragmseal,whichseparatestheplungercompartmentandtheinterioroftheswitch.Thematerialusedforthediaphragmsealisakeycriterionforthequality,mechanicallifeandprecisionoftheEUCHNERmultiplelimitswitches.Thesamematerialisusedforthecoversealandthecableentry.

Exteriordiaphragm

Aserieswithanexteriordiaphragmwhichisdesignedtoresisttheeffectofresinouscoolinglubricantsisalsoavailable.Theexteriordiaphragmprovidesadditionalsealingoftheplungeroutsidethehousing.Theplungerguidesinthehousingarethusreliablyprotectedfromthepenetrationofthecoolinglubricant.Plungerstickingispreventedandthereplacementoftheswitchorplungerisunnecessary.Fortechnicaldataonthisseriesseepage24and25.

Interchangeableplungerguide

TheseriesRGCSwithitsinterchangeableplungerguidefacilitatesquickandeasyplungerreplacementwithoutre-adjustmentofthemultiplelimitswitch.Thiskeepsproductiondowntimesasbriefaspossible.Incaseofdamageorweartotheplunger,e.g.whenprocessingabrasivematerials,andalsowhentheplungerhasbecomecompletelystuckduetoresinouscoolinglubricants,itisonlynecessarytoreplacetheplungerguideandplungeronthesemultiplelimitswitches.Thecompleteplungerguide isdismantled from theplunger side.Theplunger can be replaced easily and quickly by the operator withoutspecial tools.Specialistknowledge isnotrequired. Plungersystems

GeneralPlungersformultiplelimitswitchesaremadeofstainlesssteelandareextremelyaccurate.Inconjunctionwithaplungerguidewithaspecialsurfacefinish,operationisextremelyreliableandmaintenance-free.

There are two different types of actuating systems, depending onthe application. For standard applications, the plunger is fitted with atelescopicdevice.Withthissystem,theplungercanbedepressedtothereferencesurfacewithoutdamagingtheswitchingelement.Multiplelimitswitcheswithsafetyswitchingelementspossessa“rigid”plunger instead of this plunger with telescopic action, which ensurespositive action in accordance with EN 60947. This means that thecontactpointwillbereliablyopenedintheeventofmechanicalfailureoftheswitchingelement-e.g.owingtothefailureofacontactspringorcontactweldresultingfromanoverload.
